She also needs a stylist with edge like Rachel Zoe who dresses her clients in Balmain. I don't know what happened after her stint on Idol during which she looked like the megastar she is, but she hasn't looked as good or better since then. Her Las Vegas residency #1 To Infinity was such a critical and commercial success The Colosseum at Caesars Palace decided to extend her residency. She received her star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame and she's appearing on Empire this fall. Infinity, hate it or love it, received positive reviews from music critics. She's still The Voice. When rested and rehearsed Mariah can still slay vocally. Mariah has children, she can't go days without speaking before a performance like she used to. I hope Mariah plays a fictionalized version of herself. She's always accused of taking herself too seriously and this is what she needs to do at the moment. If she shows her acting chops and sings (live) a few snippets of an amazing new song written with The Weekend or Miguel she could make a comeback. Adele and Sam are proving that well written songs with a vintage sound still sell and we all know that that is the type of songs her fans want from her. She did just that on MIAM but the songs didn't really have any memorable hooks/choruses. MIAM is the thinking fan's Mariah Carey album. It requires the listener to repeatedly listen to the songs to fully understand their brilliance with the exception of #Beautiful. (Thursday 27 August 2015; 0:24)

I think changing her image could help her reconnect with not only the public but former fans that dismissed her because of rumors, Memoirs, and her marriage to Nick.
