Re: Hallmark (59,036) (59,043) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I was hoping the Hallmark thing was a one-off deal where she fulfills her desire to make a cutesy Christmas movie and then over. I am not a big fan of the 3 movie deal idea but well I don't know the details. I wanted it to be a one-off deal because if Mariah continues starring in cheesy movies she will never be able to be taken seriously as an actress. I was hoping she would use her and James's contact to get in some big budget movies as an actress (in addition to getting a deal to have the main song of a big budget movie of course). If she really wants to take up acting (which she did), she should work with the right people. If she is not starring in the Hallmark movies and just working as a director, I would still ask her to reconsider it, because I don't want her to get chalked up as a cheesy low budget movie director. Justin (59,042) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter So Bieber finally dethroned Adele with "Sorry". We can all relax now, OSD's record is still intact hahah. I thought "Love Yourself" will be his next #1 because it has been a while that "Sorry" was at #2 to Adele's #1 on hot 100, while "Love Yourself" took #1 spot from Adele on the iTunes chart. But I am glad "Sorry" reached #1 because I really enjoy that song. Congrats Justin and the lambily hahah (we love everybody but we love our records more). (Monday 11 January 2016; 20:10)

Re: Wendy Williams (59,007) (59,011) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter That's because Wendy's show is watched by a lot of people who will just go on to assume (since they are not all lambs) that what she is saying is true and that just adds to all the other things that has damaged Mariah's reputation. Plus she just basically dragged Mariah into a story which had absolutely nothing to do with her and then called her trashy and a drama queen who pretended to lay in the hospital with a sling to get public sympathy/attention. That is pure bull shit. Lastly we can't just assume Mariah doesn't get worked up over these too just because she doesn't talk publicly about it. Mariah is always aware of what tabloids say about her as we have seen in many interviews and she knows what Wendy says because once when she called in to Wendy's show, she mentioned how Wendy says a lot of bad things about her and yet she called into her radio show. I don't like her having fun with her kids or Stella's kids." Manny, I was never talking about her vacation pictures. I always said I enjoy the vacation and personal pictures and I was also one of the people who kept saying Mariah should up her Instagram game and post more about her glamorous life. What I don't enjoy are the hazy random throwbacks and the awful hashtags. Also like you said, I have said it many times before, we don't even have to get her own pictures, just post pictures of where you are laying around or what you are eating. She had the nerve to say something along of the lines of "Janet you are better than that, you are music royalty" and I am like, while I agree Janet is a legend in her own right, Mariah is also music royalty. Wendy literally just said that Janet is music royalty while Mariah is trashy. I don't really expect much from her though because she even trashes her own celeb "friends" or people who are her friends in her mind. She takes digs at JLo and other people who appeared on her show even though she calls them her friends. Wendy has gone from being a talk show host reporting current news to someone who makes up stories in their head and passes it off as facts. (Saturday 9 January 2016; 13:58)

Ever since Stella took over Mariah's account, she has turned it into a joke with all the meaningless and childish hash tags, hazy unrelated old pictures and all that good stuff, something I don't picture Mariah doing at all. The picture (that I used in my avatar) has the hash tags "Rocky wants Swedish fish" and "Roe Roe wants sour candies". What the heck does it have to do with the picture? Then there is the uber impressive (not) "shake and bake" on the photo of her running. The random "Can't let go" with the Christmas presents picture and the list goes on and on. It's just annoying. By the way Stella, this wasn't the last time she went on the show, she was there to reveal a snippet of the "Infinity" music video. This post might be a foreshadowing of her appearing in the Ellen show soon, but "#glam" seriously? Celebs just usually post photos without all the stupid hashtags. Also enough with most of her pics having the "eternally 12" hashtag, or the "pon de" something hashtag. We get it, you know some "Mariahism", no need to put it everywhere. Re: Oh please, Adele? (58,980) (58,981) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Deedre it's a good thing you brought up the fact that Mariah is a musical encyclopedia. A lot of her collaborators (writers and singers) have talked about how much Mariah knows about music and musicians and that they were blown away by her knowledge. But recently every time they ask her about who she is listening to at the moment, she mostly answers with "I listen to my own material". Except for the last time when she mentioned "The Weeknd". So her saying she only listens to her own material worries me a little because that kinda limits her to her previous work. I would want her to listen to some good current music not so that she jumps on a bandwagon but so that it inspires her to perhaps cook up something new and start a new trend in the process. Because fans have been begging her to think outside the box for a while and she did just that when she went ahead and collaborated with Miguel. I always have a greatest respect for Mariah because she is so hands on with her projects by being in control of writing, producing and singing of course, but I think it would be a change if once in a while she lets in other people to shake things up a little. Not asking her to completely give up control though, because I love me so Mimi writings. (Friday 8 January 2016; 22:15)

YDKWTD (58,978) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Ugh so I listened to this song after a long time again and I can't deal with the pain that this song was ignored by Mariah. It's fire. This song with a good 70's inspired video and a few live performances would just blow everything up. Especially if she did it like the one live version she performed at the Today show. I am talking about the part at the end when she sings "You don't know what you do to me" and the back up singers follow suit and it just seems like a girl group chorus. It was perfect. I know a lot of people don't like Wale on the track, but I actually like his parts, I would just like his voice removed when Mariah is doing the acapella intro. The song reminds me of Fantasy for some reason. Another heartbreak that will forever upset me. Right up there with "The One", "Mine Again", "Migrate", "Side Effects", "E=MC2" in general, "Inseparable", "Betcha Gonna Know", "Faded", "Money" and "Thirsty". (Friday 8 January 2016; 19:26)

But apparently Rihanna has announced a tour in February I guess and she has been teasing fans with snippets of songs through her site in collaboration with Samsung. So she might release it. But oh well, as long as she doesn't collect any number #1's along the way, I'm good lol. (Friday 8 January 2016; 9:52)

Re: As a Latin fan (58,964) (58,972) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Giovanni, probably a very big reason Mariah never had a full Spanish album may be due to the fact that Mariah has always insisted that she will not sing anything that is not written by her. She does not speak Spanish and hence would not be able to write full songs in Spanish. Secondly I think I read somewhere that one of her Spanish versions, I think "Mi Todo" (not sure) had wrong translations and she was very upset with it and that's why she stopped doing Spanish versions of her songs completely up until "Hermosa" a good 16 years later. Even then she probably did "Hermosa" because Miguel was involved and he helped her. I can't be sure but I think she just doesn't want to fully commit to a project she has limited control over and would not want to disappoint herself and her Latin fans. The people saying it's a throwback picture are confusing it with this photo from 2006 and this photo from 2003. That's why they think they have seen it before but it's just that Mariah is posing in a similar way. The photo is new and was possibly take the same day as this photo, judging by the hairstyle. I have seen some article post the new bikini shot Mariah posted and people are swearing up and down that it's an old picture and they are sure about it. Haha haters having a hard time believe that Mariah has actually lost so much weight. At first even I thought Stella is at it again, posting the 2006 famous bikini shots of her in the emerald bikini. But wow Mariah, she looks gorgeous. I am sure most people are thinking of the 2006 photos or 2003 photo (from Lee TS avatar) when they saw this picture and so they think it's old. Others are saying it is edited but come on it's not like she is stick thin in the pictures. She looks the same size she did in the paparazzi shots. So the queen is back. Now I want a music video. (58,936) (58,944) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Just to clarify, this is not a post about throwing digs at you Seth, but while you are right about trends and how people vanish after being hot for a second, we can't rule out Adele yet. Mariah is one of the rare celebs who has outlived the success of her contemporaries. Similarly Adele may surprise us and outlive the success of her contemporaries. I am not even a fan of Adele, I mean I don't hate her of course, but I usually don't rush to buy or download Adele songs either but I will admit she is a talented songwriter and singer. As for Rihanna's #1's not being a threat to Mariah, I will have to disagree. It is a big threat. Rihanna's time is not done yet because she is still young. Nowadays every year there is a new "hot artist" who comes in and sweep 2-3 #1's with their album. First came Katy with Prism and took in 2 #1s, then came Miley with Bangerz which took a #1 and #2. Then Ariana (zero #1's still and she is apparently the next Mariah oops). Beyonce with Beyonce. Then of course Taylor and took in 3 #1's, 2 of which were pretty lame songs. Anyways what I am saying is if tomorrow Rihanna drops a highly publicized album which gets popular she can easily scoop 2-3 #1's which will bring her closer to Mariah. She is trying to keep her fans on edge about her new album even though it got delayed, so it can either be a hit or miss. And then another phoned in feature on an Eminem song would get another. In this age and time it's pretty easy to get a #1. So we can't say no one is a threat to Mariah. I will certainly not be happy if someone like Rihanna dethrones her. (Thursday 7 January 2016; 13:08)

Look at this woman. How does she look so beautiful? The hair flying, I mean come on, only Mariah. I also love this photo. These are better than some of her recent photo shoot. We need her to wear a monokini and get on that beach and post a couple of pictures on instagram. She'll look straight out of the MIAM/TAOLG cover minus the photoshop. I am happy to see the vacation photos. I think Stella should stop posting the low quality old pictures so much for no good reason. I mean yes I am all for a "Hero" anniversary post or whatever, but no need to put a random picture from the SIO shoot and label it "fringe game strong" like what is that even? Anyways I saw someone mention on another board that Mariah should use a "team account" like the Mariah Alerts account to post these if she absolutely has to and use her main account for more exclusive pictures like the vacation ones and behind the scenes stuff or just day to day updates instead of the old pictures. It doesn't even have to be her picture if she isn't in the mood, she can just post pictures of her surroundings. By the way, her instagram following has increased to 3 million. I either read transcript or it was a print interview I can't recall, I just know that I didn't get to see the interview or hear the audio. I think I might have come across the interview in MCA.
