About Shezz from Pk: L4L

Re: It's Like That (1993 Remix) (89,568) (89,572) by Shezz from Pk
Wow. I don’t know what I love more. The effortless ease with which the song fit right into that 90s groove and sounded so good or Oprah learning to dance to it. Thanks Bill. That made my morning.

Re: Migrate (89,533) (89,537) by Shezz from Pk
Should have been a single. She usually opens her tours with songs released as singles. I think she is too concerned that the general attending public must know the songs, at least the opening number. Though she did open All The Hits with Heat. Not a hit or a single.

Re: Madonna's BBMA performance (89,514) (89,519) by Shezz from Pk
I'm one of the first people to cringe when Mariah's girls are hanging out and when she does that ridiculous touching herself move a la "feel your body, feel your body". I think at the BBMAs Mariah came off classier than Madonna.

To be honest, whenever Beyonce, Lady Gaga or JLo etc show too much skin it never looks that distasteful but somehow Mariah often crossed the line over to distasteful and too much.

I still think Mariah did a fantastic job with her look and her overall performance at the BBMAs. If only her vocals had matched it - still came off well.

Re: Madonna's BBMA performance (89,498) (89,502) by Shezz from Pk
Wow Webmaster. Take it a little easy on the Mimi supporters. As for what you said. Last I checked Madonna was 60 and not Mariah. And Madonna clearly had the more sexualized performance, Mariah's was anything but.

Re: BMA vocal analysis (89,459) (89,468) by Shezz from Pk
I think nerves kick in now more than ever because she knows she's lost a lot of her voice and that she can't rely on it anymore. And more so on these public shows because she wants to be known as the voice and she knows people will be expecting her to deliver the enormous vocals when she can't. Isn't there something she can take before these performances to take the edge off a bit? A puff or 2?

Re: BMA vocal analysis (89,452) (89,453) by Shezz from Pk
I tried to watch it all but it's still very awkward almost cringe for me when someone picks Mariah's vocals apart - let alone for 25 minutes. Of course their technical analysis were nothing to be contested with and I could't watch it all so I don't know but do they mention nerves at all? I feel they played a huge part in the performance and she repeatedly said after the performance and several interviews that she wasn't happy at all with her performance and that she was way too nervous to sing the way she does at her concerts. The video sounded as though they were judging this performance to judge where stands in general now. I feel she still does pretty well in tours.

Re: BB Awards (89,417) (89,421) by Shezz from Pk
She looked great. Speech was good. When I heard her struggle to sing my heart broke for her. You could see it was her nerves as usual getting the best of her like they do in these award shows. Same songs she has done much better in Vegas and the Caution tour so it was more of her confidence and nerves being an issue. Though she did manage to pull it off and closed it well. Social media and the crowd loved it.

Re: What song is being performed at Awards Show? (89,401) (89,402) by Shezz from Pk
That seating news might be a rumor. The pic shows Maluma's seat but not really Madonna's. Performer's list doesn't have J Hud. Excited to see how this all pans out.

Re: What song is being performed at Awards Show? (89,394) (89,399) by Shezz from Pk
Im a bit double minded of the J Hud performance. I don't want her to show MC up on her own song, right before MC comes. I was hoping she would just present and not sing because lets face it MC can't sing like that no more. Interestingly enough, the seating chart has MC seated 2 seats away from Maluma and Madonna.

According to "MariahNow", A No No and Always Be My Baby. Sounds very believable, we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Groan (89,375) (89,380) by Shezz from Pk
I was expecting Medelin to be better as well. What some people don't get is how popular Maluma is in the latin world and the pull and the following he has, along with several videos with over a billion views. Half the YouTube views from Medelin can be credited to him as well, though the views are much less than he usually gets. He is promoting the song as well and is not just a guest artist in it.

Re: Caution - now that we've had some time (89,274) (89,276) by Shezz from Pk
I still play it often though not the entire album regularly. A lot of songs on my playlist. 8th Grade, Caution, One Mo Gen, A No No and Giving Me Life. Every time I do play the album though I still enjoy all the tracks and don't skip any.

Re: Billboard Icon Award (89,184) (89,185) by Shezz from Pk
I think it is very obvious and fairly certain that she will do a medley very similar to what she did on Idol. She'll run through her biggest hits (we all know how uncomfortable she is singing songs she think her audience doesn't know - even at her own concerts so forget an award show) and she'll plug in one song from Caution in the end like she did with Beautiful on Idol and it will most probably be A No No. I don't think that'll be too bad. I'd be happy if she even wore something similar to the Idol performance. I have a feeling Tanaka will try and pull off out there choreography like he did at the AMAS with With You. As much as we'd love her to wear pants or jeans and sing something unexpected - it ain't happening. I trust she'll do good.

Re: 2019 BBMA Icon award (89,106) (89,107) by Shezz from Pk
Wow. "Deserved despite her flaws" is a little harsh. I know you're saying she deserves it but that just sounded like you had to debate it in your head first if she deserved it or not (especially considering some of the past recipients). Anyway, I'm glad she is finally getting it.

Re: A No No (89,022) (89,025) by Shezz from Pk
Even though it is more or less a cut in paste - Mariah hasn't added much except the whistles, Shawni's rap seems interesting and adds to the song. I like it better than the first remix for sure. Interesting that she was there for the video yet they had to shoot additional footage for SD and add her on to the video and release that first. It's not the dream remix we were hoping for but it isn't bad at all.

I can't imagine this being anything other than another cut and paste with her being on tour right now. Why?

Re: Caution: we're getting on each other's nerves (88,670) (88,675) by Shezz from Pk
Totally. It felt like it was more of a list of right and wrong, black and white. So so many shades of gray here.

Re: A No No (88,619) (88,620) by Shezz from Pk
So there is a JD video floating on twitter where he addresses this, like B already mentioned. I'm posting the link here but somehow it never gets posted. Basically what he said was that Lil Kim reached out to him to do the remix and he sent her the beat - that's it. Nothing else came off it and he doesn't know why but I feel JD is often unclear and misleading. He says in this clip that he never heard the Steflon remix ever and that Epic records is responsible for this remix not him, that they decided to do one with her and not Lil Kim. It can be an inter label issue like Mariah has had with other artists before sadly due to Label politics. What's funny is that just a few days before the remix he posted a video about how the remix would come later, meaning he was still hoping for his Lil Kim mix. I'm pretty sure Mariah would have also preferred Lil Kim on it as she openly stated but Epic probably gave her no choice. Not that the song needs a remix, some additional star power would have just helped it get to a wider audience.

I will always think of you and your mum now everytime I hear "Never too far". I can't imagine what that song means to you now. Please do post your Atlantic City experience.

Twitter and instagram lambs are mad as hell over this. I guess most people were still thinking Lil Kim, Cardi and Missy would come through. Fine Cardi is too busy but JD couldn't get Lil Kim or Missy? Really? I'd love to know what went down.

Wow Mara. This sounds like such a harrowing experience. I am so so sorry for your loss. Sounds like you and your mum were very close and had a great relationship. It is so amazing how involved and happy she was for you and your meeting with Mariah. I know how you feel about feeling guilty for not being there with her but ofcourse there was no way for you to foresee this happening. We are all here for you, and specially Mariah and her music. Don't forget "in the memories there is solace".

My Saving Grace and Looking In? (88,574) by Shezz from Pk
Were these two songs included in the setlist or not? They appeared on the setlist sheet and even the tour book but I have not found a single clip anywhere of them being performed on the Caution tour.

Re: A No No video (88,383) (88,388) by Shezz from Pk
I agree. The whole vibe and look of the video is great but it would have been great if it had a hint of a storyline. This is just Mimi and the crew having fun on the train. Cute but meh. And then not even a Teflon bonbon - forget the major rappers. I am very thankful though that the Bulochnikovs are history or the daughters and mommy would have surely been all over the video. There isn't a remix video coming - I think that was it. Yep.

Maybe because there aren't any. Why do you still think there are? I so want to be proven wrong.
