Giving Me Life (86,203)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|

Why does Blood Orange receive a feature credit? Is that one of his requirements as a producer to get a feature credit? He has the same feature credit on John Legend's latest song. The title slips my mind right now.

Re: Portrait (86,151) (86,153)

She got very emotional towards the end of the song. If you listen closely at the end, you can hear where she is about to cry. The voice will crack when you are about to cry. Portrait is one her saddest songs ever. One of my album favorites right now. It makes me wanna cry because I can understand what she feeling in the song. I walk around everyday feeling like people and family members don't like me or understand me. I can tell that I rub some of you the wrong way. I am sorry if I do, I don't mean to. I overcompensate in a lot things that I do or say to make people like me. I reflect everyday on the portrait of my life. Please don't judge me.

So true. I hope MC does more songs with Lido and Skillrex. These two have given MC a fresh new sound. And it works with her current voice. Runway is pure brilliance. I have never heard a more perfect mix of R&B and Pop. Can you imagine the dance remixes? Wow.

Has anybody noticed that "regardless" is printed in the lyrics instead of "irregardless"? So funny. Lol.

Thank you. I see your point of view. I was just hoping for a huge bop in Stay Long Love You. I could barely understand Gunna. It will have to grow on me.

It's not early 90s. It is definitely a throwback to Lullaby from Charmbraclet. Same bass line and drumkick melody. Right?

Caution tidbits (86,072)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
1. Portrait sounds like it could fit perfectly in a movie scene. It is the song MC was referring to that she needed to finish with Daniel Moore during her last visit on the Jimmy Kimmel show.
2. 8th Grade has Aaliyah written all over it. She could have easily recorded it in 1997. I love the Timbaland ad libs and breakdown near the end of the song. Pure perfection and so Timbaland when he says "C'mon MC" and "Baby Girl" - Aaliyah tribute for sure
3. Stay Long Love You - Why does this song sound like Things That You Do with Jay Z? I am not feeling Gunna's contribution. Drake could have given more life to the song and the production.
4. I wonder why not one JD/BMC/JA aggressive track. I am kind of bombed about that.
5. This is the first MC album where each song is co-produced by a different producer.
6. Multiple songwriters on each song. All of them give her a fresh sound and arrangement.
7. I wish more Nineteen85 tracks had made the album. His production style is Hot. Hopefully more is coming with a part 2.
8. GTFO video cinematography is just like one of the videos of Nineteen85's group Dvsn. Check out the video for the song Mood.
9. I hope part 2 is coming next year when the tour kicks off.
10. Caution shows that MC can work with any producer of any genre of music and craft a great song. I would have never thought of her working with Lido, Wondur Girl and Skillrex in a million years. Just think what masterpiece she could come up with if she worked with Max Martin, Greg Kurstin, Ryan Tedder, Ashley Gorley, and other pop country songwriters.
11. Now I understand why we only received 10 songs. MC is making a statement of being relevant and a genius. Cohesiveness was the goal of Caution.
12. Giving Me Life sounds like another MC song other than The Roof. I can't put my finger on it right now. Somebody help me. But I love the song and the production.

Caution review (86,043)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
My favorites are: 1. Caution 2. 8th Grade 3. One Mo Gen 4. The Distance 5. A No No 6. GTFO 7. With You 8. Giving Me Life I am really trying to like Stay Long Love You. I think it is gonna take a random play during my workout one day to like it. We will see.
This is her most coehesive album since TEOM. Caution is another career defining album behind Daydream, Butterfly, and TEOM. She put her heart and soul into this one. My surprise producers are Fred Ball, Timbaland, The Stereotypes, Skillrex and Lido. We had no idea she had been the studio with them. Great songs with them.

So true. We are all one family united for MC. Sometimes we have our differences about her creative choices. But we come together because Mimi is brilliant and a game changer when she delivers. I told everybody not to worry because Caution is all that we have been asking from her. A very huge and busy week for MC starts tomorrow. One year ago we were so sad about her performances, singles, management and no album. Look at us now. Lol.

A No No (85,892)

KRNB 105.7 Dallas Urban AC started playing A No No at midnight on Monday. They are playing it 3 times during the day along with With You. I am really surprised they jumped on the song without it being an official single yet.

Caution album this Friday (85,870)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Lambs, I can't believe we are 4 days away from the album release. MC will be trending all day. I suspect physical copies are going to be hard to find at various retailers other than Target, Wal-Mart and FYE. If you want one a physical copy, better get it early Friday. Target will be selling Caution for $9.99. Can't make it to the store Friday, Barnes and Nobles will let you order today for shipment on 11.16 to the store or to your home address. I ordered a copy from Barnes and Nobles today and stopping by Target 8am Friday for another copy.

This is it B. She has finally brought it this time. Caution is going fly off the shelves and have multiple songs in iTunes Top 20 on Friday. We don't have anything to worry about this week. If Timbaland did 8th Grade and Portrait for sure, I am going to shout at my desk Friday. Big announcement on Good Morning America Monday or Tuesday. Could it be a GMA performance on Friday morning? I think E=MC2 was the last time she had album promotional week this huge.

I can't believe it. Someone has updated the Caution album section on Wikipedia. It shows that Timbaland and Candace Boyd produced and co-wrote 8th Grade and Portrait with Mariah. I hope it is true.

I have been keeping up. Believe me I have said it on other social media sites before on this one. I said it long before you all said it on here. I was just attaching my theory model to what I predicted when Amazon posted 10 tracks. Thank you, next sugarplum. I still love you.

Caution album (85,811)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I have a strong feeling that just 10 tracks was the plan for the CD created at the end of August. I feel she and her team realized that all of the songs MC recorded were just too good to put all on one CD. So, my theory is that we are getting Caution on 11/16 and Caution 2 of 2 in March 2019. I think Jay Z and MC looked at Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience as a model to plan the rollout of Caution. Next week, we will have the Genius interview and The Mariah Experience. Didn't JT do week long interviews and performances and fan special surprises when 20/20 Experience came out? Didn't JT drop a couple singles and promo singles before 20/20 Experience was released? His Grammy performance that year was hyped up just like MC's AMA performance With You. 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 came out at the height of his World Tour. Caution is going to be a hit this time for MC. I just feel it.

The Distance (85,789)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
So MC is going to perform The Distance live on The Tonight Show. That can only mean that The Distance will be the official second single. I really feel that The Distance is going entice the masses to buy Caution. Target tweeted this week that there will not be a Target Exclusive. I am still hoping for something extra for U.S. Lambs.

Caution album (85,629)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
And Lambs were worried that Caution was going to be another Liberation flop. Lol. I think not. I don't think we have anything to worry about. I am predicting another huge surprise is coming this week that is going to solidify those first week album sales and beat Buble's Love. Buble is the one who should be worried not MC. I am still hoping for a Target Exclusive. Target knows something but they ain't spilling the tea. I tweeted them last week and their response was to check back for updates. Really. Makes a lot of sense for a Target Exclusive for Christmas CD sales. TS had Reputation and that huge display last November in all Target stores.
