Headlines (55,110) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter The Vegas shows are starting and so I hope things go back to a world where Mariah's performances are getting the headline treatment and not her day to day vacation updates, her accidental tumbles and why JP didn't get up or things of that nature. I like that MC's team is controlling the press but honestly everything is good in small doses. They were overdoing it, releasing personal pictures as "paparazzi shots" and what not. Anyways hoping that from now we'll get back to getting stories about her incredible performances and hopefully get more insight into some of the side projects she has been dropping hints about. BBMAs (55,094) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I was watching the BBMAs performance of Mariah again, and I have to say that now I think it was actually much better than what I thought when I first saw it. I mean I never thought it was really bad. In fact I was happy that she pulled it off despite being somewhat visibly nervous. She did hold back on some notes, which she later let out in the Kimmel performance (the "I had a vision of love" growl) and then the Kelly and Michael performance (where she was rolling out one whistle after another and making it look so effortless). Anyways back to the BBMAs, at first I felt that the transition from VOL to "Infinity" was a little abrupt, but after watching it a few times now, I think it's not half as bad. Overall, after re-watching that performance several times, I now feel that it was a pretty good performance and she looked so beautiful and adorable. That dress looked great on her, I am glad she changed into it because I wasn't really feeling the black outfit she wore on the red carpet. Too much boobs and the sheer panels were not giving a flattering illusion. "Infinity" is definitely a good song for live performances. It sounds much more grand. I think a lot of people started liking the song after they heard it live, that's why the song kept shooting up the charts every time she had a live performance. (Saturday 4 July 2015; 21:23)

MC (55,089) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I wonder when that HB shoot is coming out. If Stella got Mariah on that deal, Mariah should keep Stella forever because even when she was was with Andre Leon and Benny Medina, Mariah never got to be the cover girl for HB, Vogue and Vanity Fair and I failed to comprehend why since 2005-2008 Mariah was on fire both success and glamour wise. I still don't know if the HB thing is for real or she just had a shoot with the people involved with HB for her own project. Either ways, I want to know what went down. Plus Mariah why do you hang out with Balmain's designer and yet don't give me a single Balmain moment? Get it together woman. I root for Edgy-Riah. Last but not the least, fingers crossed for Mariah to drop that hideous Alaia dress which looks like a fish is swallowing her. The collar and scaly fish tail mess. Replace that permanently with the BBMAs stage outfit. (Saturday 4 July 2015; 16:03)

Wendy Williams (55,076) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter That woman has a mentality where she thinks that a woman only dates other men just to make her ex jealous. As if it's high school and also she can't seem to wrap her head around the idea that an independent woman may take up projects solely for her own gain (financial or emotional) and not just to show her ex that she is still relevant. I say this because Wendy went on and on about how Mariah should stop cancelling shows and get back on stage (during her Vegas shows) and show Nick how good she is. Why would Mariah need to do anything to show off to Nick? Nick is not dumb enough to think Mariah is going to be jobless and we don't know what his thoughts on James are. Wendy will go on and on about how Nick must be happy that Mariah is occupied elsewhere. Like seriously Wendy why don't you just stick to reporting what's in the headlines instead of spending 10 minutes making up stories in your head. This is why TMZ is better (even though they too trash Mariah sometimes), they just report the story and then done, Wendy will take her sweet time making up elaborate stories and then have the audacity to pass it off like those are solid facts. The woman thinks/daydreams/fantasizes way too much about other people's lives and she is the one with the ticky ticky boom boom. Plus I rolled my eyes at her when she said she can't picture Mariah having sex, like Wendy too much info, we don't need to know that you sit in a dark room trying to conjure up a sex dream about Mariah. The devil (55,066) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Are we really going down that path? That feud was fake. Maybe sometimes it went too far but it was definitely fake. Nicki dissed Mariah on twitter during the AI run, which means they were still pretending to hate on each other, MC did talk about Nicki after AI but don't forget she finally came out and said the truth recently. Maybe she was under a contract to keep her mouth shut about the fight until recently? Secondly MC never dissed Ariana, that quote (the Breakfast Club one) was blown out of proportions. For someone who is constantly dubbed as a "has been" and constantly ridiculed in the media while every new girl with somewhat strong pipes are labelled "the next MC", I think Mariah handled the situation real well and gave a general answer. As for the WMA quote, it wasn't directed at Ariana either. She was just starting to take credit for her influence on other singers (which she deserves). Since then she has started to finally acknowledge that she has had a big influence on the sound of the music industry and style of singers. Mariah only has a few diss tracks and it's not like her entire album is full of only diss tracks. I'd say diss tracks is a much healthier option than fighting in real life. Is Mariah eccentric? Yes all geniuses are eccentric if you check out history (note MJ, Walt Disney) but is she being guided by the devil? Haha please I can't even deal with the creativity on this board. No, just no. Mariah with Nick (55,037) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I am not a fan of Cannon and I am glad Mariah has moved on but it's not true that she was not this happy with Nick. Infact right uptil 2013 Mariah and Nick looked extremely happy with Mariah getting all teary eyed and happy discussing how much she loves and appreciates Nick and getting uber excited when Nick would surprise her by calling in to her appearance. She would also call into his show and pull pranks. I actually haven't seen Mariah smile as much as she did when she was around Nick. That was the only reason I learned to tolerate Nick. Mariah was like a giddy teenager in love and Nick seemed to feel the same. What happened since 2013 is another story. Anyways also about Packer I also don't get why he is being attacked. I still don't know much about the guy, but from the photos, to me it looks like Mariah is just being careful coming down the stairs and the angle of the photo makes it look like she is tumbling over. It doesn't really look like she is falling. We can't really tell from the picture. (Thursday 2 July 2015; 19:58)

Rehearsals (55,030) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter The BMA performance was a one-off performance with a 2 song medley lasting a total of under 5 minutes. The Vegas shows consist of a 19 song roller coaster ride with some of Mariah's most difficult songs off her catalogue. These two are definitely not of the same league. Mariah did go to the BBMA rehearsals a day before the main awards, she just skipped the rehearsals held hours before the BBMA awards, which isn't surprising as many of the big performers skip the rehearsals plus she must have been well prepped for Infinity and VOL because she has been singing them continuously in her shows. I don't doubt Mariah's capability, I just hope she gets some rehearsal done that's all, because even she admits her voice is very sensitive and climate along with traveling does affect the voice. Licia (55,021) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Yes to all of that plus additionally she has been traveling to a lot of different countries with differences in climate and she has been in and out of the water a lot. Plus she is basically living on a yacht. All these combined has a possibility of affecting her voice, the fact that her voice is super sensitive and fragile makes her more prone to these. I hope she goes back to Vegas now, which has it's own climate related problems and start getting used to it again. These shows are important for her. Last time she managed to start the show with a lot of good publicity and end on a high note. She needs to do that again because in this media world, people will throw all positive press out of the window if your current performance is not up to the mark. (Thursday 2 July 2015; 5:18)

Emancipation of Mimi (54,997) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I wanted to add something to the last part of my last post but I hit "submit" before that and the message went before I could change it. Anyways I was changing it to: TEOM wasn't a success just because of Reid, the songs were on point, Benny Medina got Mariah everywhere, the label financed a proper album roll out and the promos, Andre Leon Talley had Mariah looking like a billion dollar babe (which she is), Mariah got the best directors to shoot her music videos in sets of 2 each (Brett for "ILT-WBT", Jake Nava for "SIO-GYN" and Paul Hunter for "DFAU-SS") which lead to her having 6 gorgeous videos for 1 album, her remixes were on point (both urban and dance), ILT already caught public attention before getting released, Mariah sounding classy-matured-funny during interviews and Mariah being uber confident and owning the stage during her performances and her tour. So basically the stars aligned for Mariah to have her comeback, she is mistaken to think it's only Reid and that only he can save her. (Wednesday 1 July 2015; 4:18)

L.A. Reid (54,981) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter When Mariah releases another album, I hope she doesn't rely completely on Reid's opinions and direction. Reid is given a lot of credit for TEOM, and while it is true that he has a big role in its success, sometime Mariah gets too grateful and gives him all the credit. For single choices especially, she needs to be really careful. Reid isn't really great with single choices. Mariah shouldn't choose them either, they should get a group of young individuals to choose a song if they want a radio hit. Plus I hope the standards album thing is not a plan for the next album. I'd like to hear few more original MC recordings before she starts covering songs for full albums. Butterfly and E=MC2 were two big chances Mariah lost to get more hits. I think even Memoirs could have been bigger had Reid pushed the UOOMF remix and the Angels Cry remix and dropped his beef with JD and released the H.A.T.E.U. remix, which was an awesome one. Inseparable would also make a good single. Now someone or the other will jump up and teach me how we blame everyone but Mariah, so I'll just clear this out, yes Mariah is to blame to a big extent especially since she dropped promo on E=M2 and in many other things, but I am specifying Reid because Mariah believes Reid is her savior. TEOM wasn't a success just because of Reid, the songs were on point and all the stars aligned for Mariah to make her comeback. (Tuesday 30 June 2015; 17:03)

Jenny (54,946) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Your theory is quite possible. More than Jasmine's absence, I wonder what happened to Rachel. Didn't we see her around Mariah at all times? I mean tour whatever, holidays, casuals outings. Now we don't see her at all. It doesn't matter though, I am glad Mariah seems to be in a happier place in her life. She looks relaxed and is wearing flats haha (when did that ever happen). I am also glad she possibly found a new friend in Stella. Stella did manage to turn Mariah's image around. She obviously didn't take names but oh well. I wonder if people are pissed at Mariah because she cut them off. In that case they were never good friends to begin with. Found the same person in another thread (under yet another name) too where some of the members have also asked the moderators to ban that person for starting fights (although the person has not been banned yet and since then has toned things down a little). I must say I thought they were of the opposite gender but oh well I might be wrong, but these 3 people sound awfully alike. Out of the 3 identities, I think I am positive that at least 2 belong to the same person. Their style of writing gives them away. (Friday 26 June 2015; 11:26)

Wendy Williams (54,908) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I'll start off by clearing this out, this is not a dig at Will from England. I am just giving my 2 cents. WW is a jealous woman who I am sure never thought that MC would be able to get another guy again. She keeps calling her crazy and what not. I don't think it's wrong for James to be playing Mariah's songs or be smitten with her. Sometimes when we love someone we try to do everything they love and watch movies they love and what not. We know Mariah listens to her own music so maybe James is doing just that. Or he keeps playing MC's music because there are a lot of big Hollywood players partying with them and one of them may like a song and decide to put it in a soundtrack of a movie or a show. I am not saying I am 100% sure James is perfect, but Wendy's reasoning for suspecting James is pretty lame. I think she said he met her 1.5 months back but we know he has known her since 2013. In Hollywood we can never guess who is right for whom. Brad and Jennifer dated a good 2 years before they tied the knot and they were considered the Hollywood golden couple but divorced after 5 years. Nick and Mariah were considered a mistake from the start but they lasted 6 years. So just because a guy is trying to impress Mariah, it doesn't mean it's genuine love. MC is a grown woman. She'll try to be cautious I'm sure. If this is a publicity stunt (which I hope it isn't) they are both in on it. So no party is being fooled. (Friday 26 June 2015; 8:00)

Her outfit is laid back and summery, she has that head scarf going on, almost zero makeup.
