Rockyroc (45,028) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Hey. Thanks for your suggestions. I think Fantasy is a must, however I might hold into Dreamlover for later. It's so hard to chose the right songs to try out. And surprisingly I have seen Mariah is so talented some people liked some of her songs even if they don't like that type of songs. Like for example a friend of mine really liked Cry and TAOLG which are very raw ballads and I was surprised because he doesn't like ballads at all, on the contrary he is more into the recent trends. It took me about 3 repeats to like Cry but he liked it on the first listen. Makes me proud of Mariah. Anyways so I was thinking definitely We Belong Together, Faded, YME. The rest I am open to suggestions. If anyone has any songs to suggest it will be great. (Sunday 22 June 2014; 17:01)

Took me years but finally she agreed to listen and asked me to give her a few songs to try out. So now I love almost all her songs so I can't decide which to give. If any of you can name a few songs that I can suggest, it would be great. Please bear in mind she hasn't listened to a single song by MC yet so the songs I need to give her should almost hook her at first listen. So basically the more commercially appealing songs. Thanks. It's not like me (or fans like me) get any fun from criticizing MC and Lord have mercy, go ahead and say that MC should behave the way JLo does in interviews but we do so only because we wish nothing but the best for Mariah. Like you mentioned, Mariah is not just a singer she is brand which includes her attitude. We can't isolate the two. People fell in love with Mariah years back because they loved her voice and because they loved how humble and relatable she was. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the diva act occasionally, and I will once in a while indulge in some of the terms she uses, but it's not always fun. I was also talking about the Wendy, Andy Cohen and Fallon. In all of these JLo looks like she is so excited, jokes about herself and her mom, answers directly and all. She doesn't pretend the interviews are boring and that she is tired of answering same questions. I look at the screen and I am like "I dislike your music but you are a charming person". Basically JLo made sure her image stays positive, you hear these diva rumors but you see her and you are like heck I can just go and talk to her, so sweet. With Mariah nowadays it's like she says she isn't a diva but you see her everytime on and you think wow ok she's grand. One funny thing I noticed, previously when asked if she is a diva Mariah would go on saying she isn't, that there are 2 kinds of diva and that she is not the second kind. But nowadays she doesn't even say it, she is now almost a self proclaimed diva and readying Monroe's image as a diva for the public too. (Sunday 22 June 2014; 10:12)

Has there been any info about where and how she will promote it? I hope she visits Ellen, Fallon and Wendy. I really wish Mariah would do one of those skits with Fallon which goes viral. Can't wait for the video. Hoping for this to be her next number 1 or at least top 5 hit. Blah (44,994) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I will try to make this my last post about the current JLo-MC debate (try being the keyword). I knew some fans will still defend MC no matter what and that's fine. But it isn't really doing much good for MC, since this will just encourage her to continue with her diva act, which lets be honest is driving her further and further away from some of her fans. I am no JLo fan but I recently watched some of her interviews and I have to say the woman knows how to work interviews and promos. You see her on a talk show and you feel that she is just another girl whom you can go up and talk to (yes I am well aware that she is known to be a major diva but in show business no one cares what a person is like at home, they care about what they see in public). Jennifer has also been in the business for many years but she almost sounds like it's her first album. Her excitement, the energy, and most importantly the direct answers makes the interviews flow smoothly. Hate me all you want, I don't care. This was exactly what MC was (serious, with a sense of humor and humble and relatable) before the fame and divaness got to her head. Also why should Nick be cursed at for interviewing her? It's his job. Even Nick is graceful enough to acknowledge Eminem and say he is ready to move on from the fight with Eminem and chose to "save" him over this other person, I forgot. I am not saying Eminem should be forgiven, just giving an example. (Sunday 22 June 2014; 0:32)

MC-JLo (44,978) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Adam, I was just about to write the Mariah quotes you just posted. So yes that's what JLo was referring to. This debate (MC-JLo) lead me to YouTube where I found an audio tape where Jennifer called in to Nick Cannon's show and even there before Nick brought Mariah up, Jennifer went ahead and congratulated them on the twins, then Nick asked for advice which she gave. She also said there is no beef and all and that she is a big fan of Mariah. There are more interviews of her where she addresses Mariah in a positive way. I am not saying she is saying all these because she adores M. Even if she says it just for the sake of it, still makes her a better businessperson, whereas MC should really have done that. The contrast between their interviews makes it look like M is still in the past, while painting JLo in a positive light. This is showbusiness, image is everything. And the whole "JLo knew or didn't know about sabotaging Mariah" debate is pretty silly, like I said, even if she knew, why should she care? She didn't even know Mariah. Do you really expect her to put Mariah's career before hers when she never even met her? That's really silly. (Saturday 21 June 2014; 18:19)

JLo is coming off as really secure and easy going whereas Mariah is still holding on to a grudge from over a decade ago. Now, by no means is Jennifer even one fourth as talented as Mariah, but the woman atleast seems to be a better business person now that she has so successfully made herself seem so likeable eventhough there has been diva rumors surrounding her for ages. This is JLo doesn't play along with the diva tag, she maybe demanding but in interviews and promos she seems nice and always laughing and being cordial. Mariah is completely lost in the diva act, something she claims she really isn't in real life. And like I mentioned before, one reason the lambs hate JLo is because she snatched the sample from Mariah. But come on, she has to think about her own career, she didn't even know Mariah, how can we expect her to care? I also liked how JLo actually mentioned one of Mariah's hits to further show that she actually listened to it. Anyways main thing being, next time they ask MC about JLo she should just say "well I'd like to get to know her too". That's good enough. Instead of saying "who" and then covering her face with her hair. 24 years in the business, 18 number singles and over 200 million records sold should teach Mariah that it won't kill her to acknowledge people she dislikes. I saw the cover, I was on a mobile device and the net was slow so the picture at first was blurry (it was taking time to load), and I was like wow a new unseen picture from the shoot. And then it loaded and I'm like woah what the? First up she looks pissed, then she looks like she is holding back a major sneezing moment. It looks like the same pose (and yes the exact same picture) as the album cover just that someone photoshopped a different head on it. Even her head looks like it is turned sideways so the "face" looks weird. Mariah is such a beautiful woman, why on earth doesn't she just do a new photoshoot? Anyways I am excited for the video if the Brett Ratner rumors are true. (Saturday 21 June 2014; 14:17)

Matthew (44,928) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Yes you are right too. See I was just expressing my thoughts mainly about MC-Nicki fight before the "off with your head" thing. I remember in one episode Mariah just came and made a comment about Nicki's head piece (or some kind of accessory) and all. But yes you are right in you point. I am not saying Nicki is innocent, but she does acknowledge Mariah and so does JLo. Mariah on the other hand just pretends the person doesn't exist if some interviewer asks her about them. Also, I don't know how the shows work but don't they know who else will be in the panel? I mean are they not allowed to ask? Because if they don't what will happen if suppose they would put Eminem or Tommy Mottola as the fourth guest? So I want to know that didn't Mariah's team know in advance about Nicki? If she did, then why sign on? (These are actual questions so feel free to answer lol.) As for the fight, my theory is that they were both briefed on it and they started of fighting to get ratings or whatever and then bam, at one point one of them said something to the other and things got bad. Randy (44,922) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Thanks Randy. I almost deleted my post but then decided against it. I love MC, I don't even listen to any other artists (except MJ). That is because I truly respect her craft, her creativity, the emotion she puts in her songs and the lyrics. However I am not blind. Blaming others is always not the way when MC is sometimes also at fault. She started of playing the diva as a joke but I think after a certain point she just got lost in the world that she created and now knows no other reality. (Think being the keyword here.) I agree, that if she is paid $18 million, why bother cat fighting with a girl years younger than you? Just keep your cool, end the season with dignity and then quit. We can go around blaming JLo, and Nicki (I won't include Madonna because that shade was well deserved) but someone of M's level can just be gracious and not pretend like she doesn't know the others. I cringed at the Barbara Walters interview she did when Nicki said "off with your head" and that she beefed up security. She really thought Nicks Minaj would shoot her? I can think of a million other ways that they could have resolved the issue. (Friday 20 June 2014; 10:40)

MC, Nicki, JLo (44,903) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter This may sound negative and some lambs may "come at me" for this, but please bear in mind I'm just giving my opinion, I'm not trying to pretend it's a fact. Also, I love MC, her songs give me life, can't really say the same about Nicki and JLo (I am not a fan of those 2). I agree with those who say that JLo is more "likable" in the sense that when you hear her interviews, she sounds sweet, she answers questions directly instead of beating around the bush, and I have yet to see an interview of hers where she disses MC. She did allow Mottola to use her to sabotage MC, but that was near the beginning of her career and one has to understand that in this business you either swim or drown, so she did what she had to do for her career and it's not like she was best buddies with MC and went around her back to sabotage her. She not only acknowledges MC, she always has nice things to say about her and even said she's a fan. And as for Nicki, I thought at first that it was all a publicity stunt by both their camps but oh well. However even Nicki had said that she loved MC and was extremely happy when MC not only asked her to do a duet but also allowed her to be in the video. She sounded genuinely starstruck that an artist of Mc's caliber had included her. During AI when she went to Ellen she said that she was surprised about what went wrong and said something along the lines that "imagine you idolize somebody all your life and when you finally meet her she hates you". So basically, I think MC's larger than life personality is making her sound untouchable and maybe haughty at times and that may put off some people. I watch her old interviews (pre 2000s) and she sounds so sweet and nice (which I am sure she still is) and it's fun to watch. Nowadays she is taking the diva antics to a whole other level. No, I am not telling her to be fake niceness. MC said it herself that the diva act is just for the show. So basically she is faking that, why not balance the sweet 90s Mariah and the diva Mariah, instead of always relying on the diva act? (Thursday 19 June 2014; 21:00)

So Mariah may not be crazy after all (44,785) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I was checking buzzfeed because well I was bored and once you get into buzzfeed you may end up being there for hours clicking from one article to another starting with "47 things about blah blah blah" to something as stupid as "The when will you die quiz". Ok so I didn't take the quiz about death. Anyways so there is a article making fun of how MC tried to pass off a picture from 1997 as a current picture, and I was like "oh lawd" people are catching on. But then I realized (with the help of one of the commentators) that our darling MC wasn't really trying to say it's a recent pic, in fact it can clearly be seen that it's a hard copy of the old picture on a table or bed or whatever and the corner of another picture can be seen on top of her picture. So maybe she was just sharing her old pictures with her kids. You all can check it out, if you care. Pablo (44,773) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter You are not alone buddy, I love E=MC2. It's in my top 3 Mariah albums. I don't think I skip any song while I am listening to the album and Side Effects is one of my favorites too. I think each and every track on that album was pure perfection. Could have been a huge success for her had she not disappeared in the middle of the promos. (Sunday 15 June 2014; 16:32)

Top 5 (44,772) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter 1) Faded - Amazing. Always somewhere but you're not there for me. 2) Thirsty - While I agree that it may get lost in the crowd of recent songs, I still think it's a great song and with a great video would have done pretty well 3) YDKWTD - Makes you want to get up and bust a move. 4) Make It Look Good - Love the intro, love the "lip, hip, dip" part and in general I love the song, it sounds different and fresh. 5) Money - It's such a fun song, the chorus is just so catchy. I had to leave YME out of the top 5 although I adore both versions, but I have been listening to it for months now, so yes backseat for now, but a great song nonetheless. Least favourite - Meteorite. I tried time and again to like this one, but it just didn't grow on me yet, but that's fine, a lot of other lambs seem to enjoy it a lot. (Sunday 15 June 2014; 15:39)

So JLo released 3 video teasers for her album, probably taking the Beyonce route of having multiple music videos if not videos for each track on the album. I was just checking it out and she has a song called Emotions, which basically almost made my ears bleed. Then ofcourse is Big Big Booty which is about well her BBB. And then the super annoying I don't wanna worry no more. Why any label would want to spend so much money on a talentless artist like her is beyond me and it's not like she is young either, she's the same age as Mariah. Unfair world. Sigh. And about the picture that two fellow lambs have been saying is from 1997 or 2008, if it's true what on earth is going on? I thought it was recent because I probably missed the pic on Oprah but are you guys sure? Then it's really weird. If not then MC is really getting her great looks back. Plus apart from that she still looks great in the black gown and the new family pic, so I am happy for her since she is usually so image conscious. At this point I am trying to take JD's words that there is still a plan for Chanteuse and so I will try (try dahlin try) to not complain about the lack of promotions. (Sunday 15 June 2014; 5:44)

The pictures of her in the hot tub, then the one in the black gown and the one in the white tank top, her face seems to have gone back to the original shape. And is she wearing the same black gown she wore for the BET performance of YME? JD (44,731) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I feel bad for JD. Why is everyone attacking him when maybe the truth is it's Mariah who is holding him back from doing his work? JD has been with Mariah for so long and produced some great tracks with her, more than that they have been friends for so long. But now I think the way the fans are bashing him and MC's just hiding and not defending him or even acknowledging the attacks is going to lead to a crack in their friendship. It will be somewhat of a loss to Mariah. Jermaine really did bring out some great songs with her. Mariah should really just start talking at this point. Why hide and let everyone and their brother take the bullet for something that is her fault. Even if it's not in her control she can atleast address the fans. She's posting away random things, and endorsing beverages and that's pissing off fans more. I don't get it, what is she getting out of pissing people off? (Friday 13 June 2014; 23:37)

People are saying that they are fine with just making music and don't care about sales. well first of all no label would want to sign her up and if her sales keep on falling like this I am sure Mariah herself will just not make any more albums because well what's in it for her? Her legendary image getting tarnished more? Her sales have taken a plunge by the second week, and some are saying that oh come on there is still time. Well we hoped the same for YME but it dropped off the face of the earth by the second week. And I would like to ask the fans bashing others saying that Mariah is not promoting her album because she may have personal problems and people are being selfish for wanting a good chart position, what exactly do you have to say now that she is out and about promoting a beverage and not an album she spent 5 years on? I was just saying the interviews sounds repetitive because Mariah's team has input on some mandatory questions they need to ask her. But starting off your post with "Some of you need a life outside of MC" isn't really polite the last time I checked. You make it sound like, well I'll just speak for myself, that I am the guy character Mariah plays in Obsessed. I have been talking about Mariah not promoting because obviously Mariah wanted this album to be perfect and obviously she expected it to do well on the charts so she took so long. I was confused as to why she is sitting back and letting it sink. Why are you so sure that she doesn't want to promote it? She was booked on The View and I am sure many other shows but those had to be cancelled because the album kept getting delayed. We are all aware that the promotion strategies need to be planned months in advance, that includes booking the spots on shows. So it's possible that since the album kept getting delayed, maybe when she wanted the appearances she couldn't get it because other people have already been scheduled to appear there. We can all sit here and assume. Anyways I have nothing against you, all I say it that the least you can do is not go around telling people they don't have a life or that they are obsessed and that you seem to be one of the rare ones who can balance out your feelings.
