Janelle Monae and Missie have been hyping it up on Twitter. I wondered if Mariah got her special Ivy Park footlocker package. If she fid, she's not hyping it on social media.

It's so beautiful though. Hey it just shows we have different tastes and Miss Mimi can speak to us all.

Where's whining Walter? (92,455)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|

Has anyone read Walter A congratulating Mimi for her illustrious induction yet? He's probably wondering how he could stake claim to her win. He contributed to a song or few, but this is about Mimi and shows they are separate and distinct in their relevance. Mimi was a little ticked that he was inducted before her, but they are even in different lanes as performer vs. producer. Congrats to Rick Nowels for his win this year. I've long wanted him and Mimi to work together. If they don't know each other already, I hope they meet and connect. A partnering with a musician and writer of his caliber could make for excellent new music.

Now B, every review? I'm just pissed not enough reviewers explored and expounded on the beauty that is 8th Grade. That's one tune I would love her to take a deep dive into in her memoirs. And I'm not talking about the metaphor she gave of her being devastated at thirteen about her lack of clothes and orange hair. Lol.

She and Tyler are friends and have supported each other before. I'm just singled she had to drop out of the time that then went to Thandie Newton in For Colored Girls. Mimi was pregnant, thank God and dropped out. Mariah could be good in just the right kind of TP production though.

GTFO is from her reality show basic era. Let's see where she goes from here, or there. She has a Songwriters Hall of Fame induction to consider now. JK, she's gonna write what she feels a D, it will be interesting to know what that is.

Lol I was thinking the same thing about the ones saying it's not important. This year it seems to be they know she appreciates it more than any of others. Lol. I'm just happy when deserving people get their due. Annie Lennox missed out last year too, I'm glad they both got inducted this year.

Yup, there are many who deserve it. Women in particular are underrepresented. I think they make up 7% of total inductees. I won't even label that. Lol. I do think it's fitting that Aretha was the first female inducted into the Hall of fame. The GOAT. There have only been over 50 women inducted and "fun" fact, the first 18 women were African American, from Aretha to Gladys, with many Motown women inducted early on.

People become eligible 25 years after release of their first recording, then they have to be nominated for induction, then they must win induction by votes. Chaka was eligible and nominated, but didn't win. Similar process to the songwriters hall of fame.

Yes, he is tired, tired. She's even more a legend now and look at him. Girl that Waffle House waffle was so flat, tired and flavorless, kinda like JT, so yeah, appropriate.

Twat waffle though? By the way, I had my first Waffle House waffle while working in Cincinnati for a week. Those waffles are truly trash. JT has always been meh IMO. Even before boobgate.

Well I wasn't speaking for, or about that one. I was however, referring to my own skepticism and for a few others who have expressed concern from the get go.

Isn't it interesting that the Rock has never been a love interest in any of his movies. Not really, he's been a dad etc. Handsome enough guy, but he hasn't been that movie sex symbol. But I'm not a big fan and can't say I've really followed his movies, but I have seen enough of them on cable. He's done a few sex scenes in his football show, but meh.

People are just skeptical as Mimi has been elusive, evasive and even erratic over the past few years. She has sued and been sued by so many lately and all the fans have lived through it with her. So 'scuse the skepticism or learn to skip over it. We shall all see soon enough.

Here's a cool article about Khalid and streaming. The part in the middle about authenticity really resonated, to paraphrase, that audiences sense a money grab vs. real attempts to connect.

She might do well with Khalid. I love so many of his songs and he gets airplay. His song Talk is catchy. I also would have sworn that Stay Long Love Me was written to emulate his song Location.

Oh well. Here we go. I wonder will she settle her recent lawsuit before this next chapter begins. Almost no one has show an interest in that case and as I have said many times, they won't be interested in this book.
