Lambi, can you find out if all is good with Walter A. and MC now in 2025? I like your paralegal skills and I know you can find out if the two dynamic collaborators are on good terms now. If he has 3-5 songs on MC16, then this era will be her second comeback for sure.

Thank you, darling - I truly appreciate your response. I do try to stay aware of what's happening. I'm not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I genuinely believe Morgan is a plant, and we should be cautious. He's shown time and again that he'll do just about anything for a quick payout.
Mariah is at a stage in her career where her success is not only undeniable - it's powerful. She confirmed a couple of years ago that she owns all of her masters: 86 singles and 15 studio albums, dating back to 1990. That level of ownership is incredibly rare, especially for someone who's not just the voice, but also the writer and producer. She's earning real revenue from her catalog, and that kind of power makes her a threat to certain people.
We've seen a similar pattern before. When Michael Jackson began acquiring ownership of his music - and even the rights to other artists' catalogs - it triggered serious pushback from powerful forces. It wasn't subtle, and it wasn't fair. I wouldn't be surprised if Mariah ends up facing similar tactics. It's something we should all be paying close attention to.

Article: Mariah announces "MC16" album coming this summer (109,040)
by Bobby A from United States

Jack Antonoff's production credits are impressive. I want to hear what the two have created. I am sure what Sabrina Capenter, Taylor Swift, Post Malone, and Sza have released in the past two years caught MC's attention. A sharper genre-blending sound is exactly what's happening on the pop charts these days.

Hot 97 New York is reporting MC16 is coming this summer. They said MC scrapped earlier versions of the project for a sharper genre-blending direction. Production from Jack Antonoff and a duet with country male singer Bailey Zimmerman is in the mix as well.

100% agreed Edward. It's so good to see all the lambs excited again for something big. This month we're going to have 2 exciting days. First on the 6th for the all weather lambs with T:D which obviously will be an uptempo banger - most probably with A. .Paak's production and writing (Bobby A is that official?) and secondly a Walter A. produced ballad for the old school lambs on the 27th. June is going to be good. It will be interesting to see which of the 2 the lambs and the general public respond more to. I've gotta say she has taken her time but planned this well. Releasing the new single right after reminding everyone of and celebrating TEOM was a smart move.

MC16 wish list (109,011)

Randy, I believe MC got our memo after seven years. Lol. I really feel MC16 is going to be a perfect match of great vocals and tracks to go with MC's current voice. These new songs definitely will not be sung in the key of Emotions or Fantasy. We will find out Friday hard she has been working in the studio for past 4 years.

Well, I know it ain't gonna happen but since I have a little extra time. I'd like an Adele-like album. No rap. No r&b. No vocal layering. No wall of background singers. Just her and piano or her and guitar. Some love songs mixed in with some hope songs mixed in with some introspective songs. Imagine a quiet album with songs as stripped down as Languishing, Close My Eyes, My All, With You, Camouflage, Vanishing, Music Box, Looking In, Reflections, Petals, Cry, Portrait. And for the voice. Maybe keep it down to what can be replicated live even if the venue is too cold, too hot, missing an umbrella holder, short circuits ear monitors, has no running water for humidifiers, only let you in with less than 7 hours sleep. And only use the whistle twice. Yeah, that would be a dope album.

MC loves provacative song and album titles. I just wonder if Type: Dangerous is a poke at the men who have had some type affect on her life and how she approaches new relationships now. I listened to Obsessed and Clown today just to wonder what MC will say in T:D. By the way, the distorted video and audio today was a genius move along with MC wearing the t-shirt. The song we heard in the background of today's video had a flow to it reminisce of the 70s the Jones Girls classic, You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else. Anyway at least we know T:D isn't GTFO or I Don't with Anderson .Paak and Rae Khalil co-writing.

Stacey, I didn't have any side dishes ready, but I do have some tea today. Type: Dangerous samples Eric B. Is President and possibly Dennis Edward's Don't Look Any Further. I suspect that Anderson .Paak produced T:D because he loves to use 70s and 80s samples. MC said at her Mimi anniversary Spotify listening party yesterday that "We will know a whole lot of things on June 6th." She is one of the Ultimate Icon honorees at the BET Awards on June 9th. Also, she will be performing as well. It is going around on the web that MC has signed a distribution deal with Atlantic Records. Finally, Kristofer Buckle replied to a fan yesterday on his Instagram account about MC16 and he said, "It's worth the wait." I guess Anderson .Paak probably said to MC let's create some new music and get your album completed.

Lambi, sorry for thinking you were also Baby from Dreamville. Your posts are simliar in length and style to Baby from Dreamville. Maybe he or she will post today. I am glad you are here on the board. Please stick around for as long as you would like. I hope you understand that we are a tight group of board members who only want the best for MC. We have been through all of MC's highs and lows in the past 30 years. We can get very defensive questioning some of her professional decisions. However, it seems like we can all be happy again today because MC16 is finally on the way.

That's a new one. I'm very new here. Please show me this baby you speak of. I'd like to see if he is as strong debater and doesn't resort to calling anyone a "yasss queen". But the bone I pick with Edward is because he made a big deal with me saying Mariah is avoiding wrinkles. Which btw, is a very verifiable fact. I'm just throwing the ball back way harder now because you don't do that to new comers. I'm finding out he's rather weak in debate and can't actually defend why he believes what he believes. His points are easily debunkable and he can't present you any fact. [censored] He made fun of Mariah. A couple people stood up for Mariah and called him nasty. He now then say "wow okay I guess I'll just hibernate aw I'm so sad". Its like he did the bullying and now he's the victim. Do you see the level of derangement? And with you? I don't have any problem. You're rather polite. We disagree with Solange's remix but you've never been rude. Hope this helps.

This is a surprise this morning. What's Your Type? - must be the first single. Is that the question she asked Anderson .Paak? Lol. You know it is funny that we get this news today. I sent an X message yesterday to Rae Khalil, Anderson .Paak's songwriting partner asking her if WBT part 2 was on the way. Also, I sent an X message yesterday to MC, Barbra, Ariana, and some pop morning show radio hosts (Bert Ferguson, Elvis Duran, and IHeart Radio) if they were ready for One Heart One Voice to take over radio in 26 days. MC and her team must have plan to capitalize on the OHOV release this month. Are we ready for MC to take over radio this summer? Isn't this what we having wanting for 3 years?

I thought my speculation three weeks ago was correct. Lambi is Baby from Dreamville's alternate ego. I could never pull off a second account knowing how my writing style and tone is so recognizable. Anyway, Lambi/Baby from Dreamville must be watching how Y&R is dragging out this Aristotle Dumas huge reveal.

Your level of "yass queen" delusion is impressive, congrats. Mariah is definitely the better overall artist, but neither she nor Celine could touch Whitney when it comes to pure vocal power and resonance. So, before you and your other account keep hyping each other up in your little echo chamber, take several seats. If you're going to reply to a certain post, at least make some sense.

Whisper tone (108,944)
by Bobby A from United States

MC stopped singing in the whisper tone completely with MIAM and Caution. She either can't do it anymore or has realized what it did to her voice. I believe that she tried to do it on GTFO, but it didn't sound right for the Porter Robinson sample. The girly voice is what we got instead.

I also agree that the whisper voice she adopted contributed to damaging her voice. Not singing how she was meant to might have put strain on her voice. As said previously I think she chose to sing in this way, is it possible in the earlier later years that she forgot how to sing? We heard a return to power voice during [Glitter] but then sling came [Charmbracelet], I don't mind the album but her voice is annoying at times with the whisper and I just think to myself "just sing properly".

We all believe MC has one more great album in her. We just got to get through all of the bumps and curves in the road to get there. I feel we are going find out this year why it is taking her so long to release a new album. At the moment some of her current decisions and behaviors are concerning. It is almost reminisce of her personal and professional struggles between 1999-2001 just without the media coverage. The media is just cutting her some slack right now because there are too many other celebrities more newsworthy right now. I guess we should be thankful that they are leaving MC alone.

"2. Alcohol is known as one of the absolute worst things for a singing voice. Mariah's voice being damaged beyond repair (to the point that a number of us unprofessionals on this board can probably sing Hero better than she can and with no lipping) suggests she has indulged too much in this vice."
Another fan disparaging and mocking Mariah with one of the most offensive comments I've seen yet (the part in parentheses). I feel sorry for you, buddy - you and all the lambs on here who wile away your hours hurting the woman who profess to love must have very sad, very unhappy to have to act out in this way.

Mariah Carey had 50-11 nose jobs but still insecure about "bad side"? (108,909)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I love your analysis of MC's voice as always. I believe MC sings I Am Free as a Sunday morning hymn. I have felt always that MC became emotional during the recording of I Am Free. Maybe that is the disjointed melisma that you hear. I feel Christian singers Laura Daigle and Brandon Lake never sound the same from album to album. Both singers have unique raspy voices that both use for the emotional effect in their songs, especially Lauren Daigle.

I'm surprised more people don't notice the difference from Merry Christmas to Daydream vocally. Most sight Butterfly as when he voice began to decline and change, but for me Daydream was the beginning of the end. It was just masked by good songs, good production, and confidence on the stage when performing. Main call-outs for you all to review is that her melisma became disjointed, most noticeable on songs like I Am Free. She breaks it up rather than just singing straight through the melody like she did on all her albums beforehand. Then all the body from her voice went too, best displayed by When I Saw You and Long Ago. She still sounds great but there was a very noticeable shift at this point. As this was before her alcoholism then the nose job would be the most likely cause for the change.

How could it be? MC's voice in 1995 was clear and strong. The Fantasy intro whistle is her best whistle note ever. Melt Away is pure bliss to one's ear. I just wonder now does MC has any regrets about any cosmetic surgery that she had done. I feel we will see a more open and forthcoming MC this Christmas season about a lot of things she been through since Caution's release. Some network is going to offer her a huge figure for a sitdown tell all interview this Christmas season.

Mariah came to terms with her (non-existent) bad side years ago and has said as such in her interview. It is pretty clear and obvious she has had a small nose job, and a large breast job, since 1990. The nose job is incredibly subtle but clearly impacted her voice and happened during 1995. It is obvious as it was the first major change in her voice, that became more nasally and brassy on Daydream, and lost its body. That I chalk up to the nose job. The most noticeable breast augmentation was in 1999 when Rainbow launched, but there was talk of a smaller one in 1994, but not so sure about that.

Recording contract (108,889)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Is it possible that MC doesn't have a recording contract? It could explain why MC16 has not come to fruition. Record labels loan artists money to record an album and deliver it in a certain timeframe to the label for approval, mastering, and packaging. Surely, if she had a recording contract, MC16 would have been released by now. MC16 has been nothing but "talk" for the last 4 years. Janet Jackson is in the same situation. That is the reason why Janet keeps going on tour so much. She doesn't have a recording contract either. It was never like this in the 70s and 80s for artists when they reached the ages of MC and Janet. Will it happen to Taylor Swift in 15 years?

I've always thought Walter was the guy on "Whenever You Call". Bobby A, please don't tell me he's not the guy on "The Beautiful Ones". If he isn't, I'll be totally devastated. I think I need help. Help me. Is that the police? Whitney said loud and clear that crack was wack, just in case.
