2015 1 Oak appearence (63,892)

What a difference in her appearance and demeanor. I guess still having to do a show the next day influenced her appearance. She looks flawless here and well spoken.

Hello Truth. Whether or not she is spiraling out of control, no one really knows. I would have thought her breakdown would have came during her Chanteuse tour, she was in the worse physical state I'd ever seen her in. She made it through that. I believe what we are seeing is Mariah's not so secret, secret that she likes to get lit play out on social media. Before, they only caught her drunk once at that awards show. She was always very careful about being seen in that state. She doesn't seem to care now and doesn't care being filmed while inebriated. I don't know if this is calculated or if she is just throwing "caution to the wind". I don't like her being filmed in this state. The outfit was very current day Madonna. Wearing next to nothing even though we have seen it a million times in a desperate attempt for attention. Mariah forgets she actually has a God given gift sometimes or just prefers that men lust after her and women envy her good looks. She's got most of her voice back, stand there flat footed and sing. She needs a stylist asap that will give her sexy looks that are still classy. Stella, you cannot have your client out there like that. There needs to be rules. No interviews if you had something to drink. Her kids could be taken away if someone tries to claim she is unfit to raise them. These clips are more than enough to make that claim believable. I'm not judging her not am I saying to dress and act like a nun, but these moments should be private. The kids love it, they all want to get "lit" with Mariah because she seems like fun. But she looks like the easy drunk girl at the club you know you can take home. I'm not mad at her for celebrating by drinking and feeling confident to wear that outfit, but there is nothing wrong with a little discretion in a highly public setting. Its sucks that she worked her butt off this month by giving great performances with great vocals and it all goes down the drain for an hour of fun.

My point wasn't about her weight at all. My side comment was a footnote on the bigger issue which was her behavior degrading her talent and legacy. Very similar to what you were feeling. Her weight was never an issue with me. Her weight gain always seems to be an issue with herself judging by the awkward angles ill fitting clothing she chooses to wear. I wasn't fat shaming her. I think when she's heavier she look good and seems to wear more flattering prints and silhouettes IMO. In closing, I feel bad when Mariah comes in public looking trashy because inevitably people always blame her stylists at the moment. But the truth is stylist are paid to buy fashions for their client that the client personally wants. At the end of the day Mariah is going to walk out the house and choose whatever pieces she wants in the order she sees fit. This is not one bad outfit Mariah wears. She is habitually known to wear this cheap trashy Jersey-esque atheistic that she likes. And if she likes it, so be it. Doesn't mean that I have to like it.

I'm probably going to catch some heat for this comment but it must be said. I wonder what Walter and Tommy thinks when they see Mariah act and dress like this more and more on the regular.

I could hear Stella saying "Yaas, queen" in a thick Russian accent while thinking of all the press that ensemble would garner. The House of Carey & Bulochnikov lol. Designing evening wear for strippers everywhere. Yaas, queen. You slay (in a Russian accent). I'm going to assume (and pray) that she doesn't have a stylist because if a stylist approved and picked that ensemble his or her previous employer must have been a stripper named Candy Cane.

Oh Mariah (63,884)

I have been reading everyone's posts and I agree with all of them. What gets me is where are the people around her? Do they really say "Yes Mariah that looks hot"? It gets me that they have to know she is making a classless mistake and nobody stops her. Maybe they do and she just doesn't care, but somehow I doubt that. Just like some of the people that look at her and say she looks amazing, why not flaunt it. Flaunt what? I'm sorry, but she looks like a Frederick's of Hollywood model, not the megastar talented legend that she is. What is going on? I was embarrassed when I had the MCA news up on my phone when someone borrowed my phone. It looked like I was searching some x-rated thing. What worries me is this blank look that MC has been having lately. Especially when she is with Sussone. The same look she had when she was in the studio with him. She looks to be on something and it's worrying me. It's giving me Anna Nicole vibes and I really don't know what is going on right now. How can she go from being on stage and composed to this where she looks totally out of it and this hair flipping that she has been doing lately? I wish her mom would pay her a visit but all we see is Stella's parents out in the house MC rents. I hope when her head clears she can get it together.

1OAK (63,883)

Started to watch the footage but had to stop as I find it too disturbing. As much as I love Mariah (been there since day 1) I am finding it more and more difficult to watch these videos and images of a beautiful and extremely talented woman become a sad parody of herself. She is really living in a fantasy world and at a time when she is not releasing new music she is coming across as a thirsty, tacky woman with lots of money and no taste and not much else.

While I agree with some of things in your post, I think you were a bit harsh regarding Mariah's weight. Most of us have already noticed that Mariah can't seem to lose the weight from her face. I'm sure even she knows it too. So why bring it up? I feel your frustration about her faulting herself in lingerie. But that's no need to insult her weight. It's okay to call her out when she's in the wrong. But it's another thing to call her out on how big she looks. You can do it in a more respectful manner. We all want Mariah to look her best and be the best shape possible. My problem with Mariah isn't really her weight. It's how she dresses. One day she can look so classy and like a star. And the next she looks cheap and in desperate need of a stylist. I think it's really hard for Mariah to except the fact that she's aging. So she doesn't want to limit her sexiness or what is suitable for her age. I say cover up and dress more classy. Stop trying so hard to be a sex doll because you're not. She didn't need to be this way when she first came out. Say what you want about Tommy Mottola, he dressed her like a lady and made her look classy. It's so sad that with all the talent Mariah has she's taking the sex sells route.

Really nicely stated Marissa. I couldn't agree more. I am completely fine with Mariah dressing sexy, but this is straight up trashy and makes one cringe. The supporters of such behavior are coming up with twisted versions of women empowerment and body positive arguments when they know darn well that this was just too much. Does she even think what will her kids think when they hear about it in school or when they google it? Was she thinking straight when she wore that to the red carpet because she seemed completely out of it. If you see the pictures and videos from the carpet, she is constantly moving, raising her leg, covering her face with hair, and it just looks like she is drunk even before she got inside. I would also like to add what was Mariah's team doing when she decided to pull this stunt? I mean no I am not taking the blame away from Mariah, but her team should have stopped her too. If they can't do that then why shadow her 24/7? If all they will take responsibility for is keeping her booked then they really don't need to stick with her 24/7. If Mariah wants to have a decent era of music again and be respected for her work, she needs to become someone who can be taken seriously and respected. And no that doesn't mean she needs to cover herself completely. The look she went for was not that of a sophisticated sexy woman who has 2 kids and is engaged, it was of a stripper going to work.

Lefsetz quote (63,876)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|
|
"Most of what you read about entertainment is wrong, pure fiction, lies, drummed up by publicists for effect. But the media repeats it and the public buys it and the perpetrators have the last laugh. You don't become the biggest star in the world because you have the most talent, but because you've been anointed by the machine, that's the dirty little secret. And you get into position by hustling, telling everybody how great you are, making loyal friends and working the angles. Of course luck counts, so many projects end up failing, but not all of them." This quote is from a media music critic by the name of Lefsetz. It's funny that Mariah's old buddy Jasmine quoted some of this on June 22. It caught my eye, she tweeted it in no particular context, but very interesting and possibly telling. He wrote this in the context of Trump running for office and potentially winning, but we see this often in the entertainment game.

The current stylists of Mariah comes from the "House of Carey & Bulochnikov". Mariah had a long history of bad fashion choices (at least they were tolerable) and this takes the cake. She probably chose it herself followed by a "Yaas Queen" from Stella, who would obviously approve of a trashy outfit since that's her style too. I can't wrap my head around the fact that she actually wore it and thought to herself that this is totally appropriate and her team agreed with it. It's ridiculous that she is in public wearing her underwear. It's cringe worthy every time I come across the photos on my instagram feed.

She has become her worst enemy, or has just decided to do the most and pretend to be the most. I'm sad to say that lately she seems to have lost her faith in God, she certainly doesn't mention Him like she used to. She seems dependent upon the hype machine. I hope she can pull through before the worst possible happens. I listed the three worst possibilities a couple months ago. I mean, we all passed over her display with fellow E reality wedding chick Blac Chyna. "Free" cheap press, but at what long term cost? The Touch My Body moment is cute, but Blac Chyna? She may as well have had Kim K. on the stage. This latest team of boys on her payroll, Sussone and Bryan are the lowest, but some of the lambs think it's cute, she's lit, she's so free. Some just want to see her doing anything.

Are you freaking kidding me? (63,871)

Showing up anywhere in public with nothing but lingerie is classless, tasteless and thirsty. It's funny to me how some people think Mariah is just feeling herself and there's nothing wrong with it, but let your mother walk out of the house with nothing but lingerie on when she goes out and let's see how happy you'll be about it (even if she has a nice body, you'd still be embarrassed). Don't set a standard for Mariah that you know good and well you wouldn't want for your own mom. It's hypocritical. This is so much deeper than "she looks good, why not?" and it's mind boggling to me that people don't see that. This is about how low will you stoop for attention, even when you have so much talent that you don't have to. In case you all forgot, once you become a mother, your actions don't just affect you, but they affect your kids as well. You don't give up on your sexiness completely, but you stop pulling stunts that you know could humiliate your kids down the line. You show some self-respect and set a good example so you don't make your kids think that self-worth is in direct proportion to how overtly sexual you are. Your kids don't listen to the cliche bs that you say, they look at what you do and are heavily influenced by that. If you think that the Kardashian stunts can be compartmentalized from motherhood then you're sadly mistaken. But hey, continue to encourage one of the greatest singers of all time who has nothing left to prove to act on the same level as a Kardashian. Let's stay on the lookout for the nude selfie that is likely to happen in the near future and scream "slay Mimi" once it's released.

She's not even a hot mess. She is a complete and utter mess. I remember at one point her team were worried about her not dressing her age and they corrected that shortcoming. Mariah work on your voice. You do not need to dress like a hooker to get people to notice you. I really miss the smart casual Mariah of the 90's. Nobody is saying she can't show any flesh but c'mon, have some class.

I think underwear should remain underneath clothes in public regardless of sex, weight and age. Sexy thing about dressing sexy is leaving a little to the imagination. Cannot understand how anyone would think it would be appropriate for anything other than a strip club. Serious question: Does Mariah have a stylist, what is their name?

It's incredible how trashy she's developed her career into. All the tax leaks with gossip and photos from her team. To her showing up in a bra and panties in public. Who is this chick? Where is the respected musician? Mother of 2? Fiancée? She really is lost in her own hype. It's amazing how warped she is to get anyone to talk about her and still see her as a sex icon. I guess when you can't see relevant music anymore and lose the weight off your face and body like your 25 yo you just give zero xxx and walk outside naked nowadays. Interesting. She just keeps digging herself deeper and deeper. There's no conspiracy out to get her or Tommy or JLo. Have several seats MC.

I agree. While she sounds amazing on this last leg of the Vegas shows, personally she seems out of it. Her flaunting her T&A to the most to her flaunting her diamonds to whoever will listen. She is not fooling anyone with her phony fiancé and her "see me like I'm 12" facade. She is certainly spiraling out of control. I'm just glad that the children have Nick as a stable secure father who has a extended family that loves them.

Haters gonna hate (63,866)
by Alex from United States

I for one think Mariah is a pioneer and not just in the musical spectrum. She is 46 and living her life to the fullest knowing she is going to be criticized the whole way. What's wrong with being sexy and pushing the envolope? Mimi is paving the way for all the young starlets that are talented enough to last the next 20 years. Personally, I think age is just a number and as long as the individual feels youthful and sexy that's all that matters. MC looks better than a lot of 20 year olds and so what if she wants to flaunt it and be over the top? Mariah's work ethic is undeniable. So if she chooses to play it up and get tipsy, good for her.
