Re: Nose (73,096) (73,105)
by Martyn from England, UK

Speaking as somebody who has had a nose job myself, I'm about 98% sure she'd had one. There is definitely a lot of contouring going on as well too though. I don't think she's had a great deal done to it, but that ain't the same nose she had in 1990. I kinda wish more celebrities spoke openly about surgery, there's such a stigma around it and I really don't see the problem if it's for the right reasons and improves the person's life.

You can read the article online here. It's savage, but mainly true. I'm glad Stella seems to be getting a lot of flack. I wonder if she'll respond?

Article: Sigala set to collaborate with Mariah Carey (72,583)
by Martyn from England, UK

I'm actually quite surprised Mariah is interested in working with him, as his sound is very EDM, but I'm glad. He's current and I really enjoyed his sample of Always Be My Baby.

I was in the audience for that show. She was so much fun, and there were so many funny bits that didn't make it to the final edit. She also sang I Want To Know What Love Is live and she did it in one take which surprised me. I still have one of the golden butterflies that they shot out on the key change in my memories box.

I check his Facebook quite regularly, it's interesting to see his take on things. Every so often you'll see a shady comment or two, most recently after her New Year's Eve performance. I'd love to know what happened in between 2012 (when Mariah was promoting his business for him on Twitter) to now that's made him so angry/bitter. I think his actions have been unforgiveable, but I'm also sure there's no smoke without fire.

My friend asked a question and she answered. I haven't watched it yet (am not going to as I hear Stella was present) but just thought I'd let you know that at least some of them must be real. They were probably just incredibly selective.

Wow, a narrative-less video featuring Mariah touching herself up on a bed in slow motion, interspersed with shots of a rent-a-rapper and expensive items like chandeliers and big cars. Groundbreaking.

I absolutely love "Almost Home", it's probably in my top 15 Mariah songs. I seem to remember her saying in an interview that she either didn't like it or didn't fully connect with it or something? It's a shame, because it was quite a fresh sound for her, and a few of my non-Mariah fan friends have taken quite a liking to it. It has more mass appeal than her Mariah-by-numbers tracks, and it was a fresh sound for her. I'd love for her next album to have a few more poppy uptempos.

Re: Stella blocking contact (71,109) (71,115)
by Martyn from England, UK

If you look at Mariah's social media, it's filled with people begging her to sack Stella. Every time a clickbait blog is published, every single comment is people saying they're going to unfollow the page. What's scary is that Mariah probably has absolutely no idea, and as long as Stella continues to get paid, she'll continue doing as she pleases. Where are Mariah's real friends? Where's Rae Rae? Where's Jasmine? What do LA Reid and JD make of Stella? Surely they can see she's bad news? Somebody needs to pull Mariah out of this toxic situation, pronto.

Article: Mariah facing huge legal battle after cancelling tour (71,066)
by Martyn from England, UK
| |

If this is true then it's fair enough. Blaming promoters when it was her own decision is an awful thing to do, and I have to say, I didn't buy it at the time. She was incredibly vague. What a way to treat your fans and innocent people (promoters) who are just doing their job.

Andrew, you've gone from singing Stella's praises to admitting Mariah shouldn't have hired her. I give it another month of messiness until you see the light and admit she's a horrendous leech who only has her own best interests at heart.

Why Stella needs to watch what she says (70,651)
by Martyn from England, UK
| |
|
|
So thanks to Stella's outburst, the headline on the MailOnline now reads: "Dick Clark Productions slams Mariah Carey's accusations of sabotage as 'frankly absurd' after diva's epic lip syncing meltdown she blamed on faulty earpiece". Most people on that site read the headline and the comments without bothering to read the article, so now it looks as though Mariah accused DC productions. Great work Stella.

My thoughts on NYE (70,635)
by Martyn from England, UK
| |
|
|
The network paid a lot of money to have Mariah there, and people in the crowds waited 12+ hours without having access to a toilet just to see her. Mariah's job is to sing/perform and she did neither of those things that night, yet walked away with her pay cheque. She was given a full day for a tech rehearsal and chose not to attend. I don't know what it's like to have a screaming crowd in front of you and not to be able to hear the music loudly (my earpiece has never failed ), but what confuses me is that the dancers still seemed to be dancing in time, so surely they could hear something? Also, despite the obvious "she was planning to mime because she can't sing anymore" response from the public, she was clearly planning on singing the majority of it live, as the prerecorded vocals still played, and it was just the usual high/whistle notes. It's likely she bailed because she didn't want a repeat of Rockefeller. Stella's "purposeful sabotage for ratings" response is deluded and ridiculous, and referring to Mariah as the "biggest star there" is arrogant and pretty rude given that Gloria Estefan was also performing (I'm sure her and Mariah are friends, right?). It all boils down to unprofessionalism. Not showing up to rehearse and refusing to attempt to sing when the shit hits the fan is basically Mariah not doing her job. It's like me going to work and just looking at my monitor blankly. She isn't the first artist to have an earpiece that has failed, and I have never seen anybody react like that. I feel sorry for her and it's unfortunate that it happened, but the way she dealt with it was weird and unprofessional.

Or how about we're positive when Mariah gives us something to be positive about (e.g. the Elusive Chanteuse album and its brilliance) and we're negative when she gives us something to be negative about (e.g. the horrendous MariahsWorld website)? That sounds pretty fair and balanced to me.

Maybe we should start a campaign. We could flood each of these horrendous posts by copying and pasting #MakeMusicNotClickbait a million times on each post. Stella seems to respond well to hashtags lol. I'll kick start it on the most recent post now.

Thank you for referencing my post in your dramatic departure message. (I bet you're on of those people who announces they're taking a "break" from Facebook/Twitter. If you really want to go, just go, we don't need an official statement.) I have no problem with Mariah's team writing a blog post about George Michael in tribute to his death, I actually think it's a nice idea, but hyperlinking the album name to the purchase page on iTunes is distasteful and inappropriate. Anyway, enjoy your new life away from this board, I hope it brings you much happiness.

Mariah queen of clickbait (70,255)
by Martyn from England, UK
| |
|
|
So it seems Mariah is now the queen of clickbait. After the "blingy gifts for your babies" blog, we've now been treated to a gif-heavy "4 Topics to Avoid Discussing During the Holidays" post. I'm really not sure what the strategy is behind this, but this MariahsWorld.com website needs to go. It's just the latest in a long line of money-making ventures that shows how little she and her team respect the fans.
