LOB is also constantly on my mind. The band is superb as is her freestyling. I'm a huge Jazz fan anyway and I'm pretty sure if Mariah would do an jazz album a lot of people would buy it. Her current voice is predestined for it. She could record some classics and a few own jazzy songs. A Jazz album is more needed than another Christmas album (in my opinion).

TMOMC / the expressions (96,404)
by MusicfanJ from Germany
| |
|
|
I'm on the last chapter of the book. I know that's not interesting but I'm wondering about the many f... in the book. It's unpleasant to read that expression on so many sides. The three chapters were okay but somehow very depressive. I hope the last chapter is a bit "lighter". Of course it's non-fiction but after reading it, it leaves me a bit unquestionably. So to do a list for "The Rarities" will be a good idea.

Firecracker is my choice. The cameo version is good too, but Firecracker has a better beginning, stronger chorus and it feels like an endless party. It really makes you want to dance. Singing dadadada.

Chapter Princess Prisoner (96,199)
by MusicfanJ from Germany
| |
|

Hi everyone. I'm still reading TMOMC. I had to laugh so hard at the sentence: "My taste learned more Hollywood and hers was more old Woodstock." That's truly Mariah telling. Lol. Is anyone still reading the book? I would love to read some more book reviews on MCA.

The "funny" thing is nobody here would think Mariah is black. Most of the people who are not fans doesn't even know she's mixed. Maybe that bothers her, I don't know. She's a beautiful woman with the most beautiful smile and eyes. #10] Perfect genes.

Yes that could be a reason. Well no matter if it was disrepectful from Celine Dion or not, I think we can all agree that on that night it was really a Divas night. I also love Aretha by the way, I just watched a docu called "Soul Sister" which was interesting. Todd, I'll drink an Australian Chardonnay tonight. Greetings from a German wine region. One needs variety.

"But Celine sang equally as well as Aretha because she's a rude white woman and *that* makes the book. Trash/" I haven't read this chapter yet, but it's indeed annoying if Celine Dion is criticized that way. She was always nice to Mariah. Nobody is usually listening to music because of an ethnicity. A good voice is a good voice. Are we living in the 50ies? Of course it's all a matter of taste with music but to say Celine was doing wrong at the concert is ridiculous. That concert was great, every singer did her best.

Congratulations MC. This makes me happy. It's so deserverd for the intimate memoir she's sharing. I have to read the book slowly, because I have to translate unknown vocabulary but I love to read every chapter of the book. It makes me admire her even more.

I started to read the memoir too. The "wayward child" chapter is quite soul-stirring. I was thinking the whole evening about some things. To listen to "Petals" will be hard the next time. But I'm excited to read more. I like that the songs are included with explainings. Very interesting.

Nice review indeed. I'm completely shocked how good the rarities are. What a joy to listen to. After the first listen I really feel like back to the good old days. It feels like a complete new album but with just the best of the best. The Firecracker version is fantastic and hot. "Can you hear me", "All I live for" are my new favourites. And "Cool on you", "Mesmerized", "Lullaby of Birdland" and of course "Out here on my own". What a gift for her fans. Cheers.

Amazon allows the downloads when you buy the physical CD. That's cool. So I can listen to the mp3's today. So I know what I'm going to do today. Lol.

Here we go around again (95,948)
by MusicfanJ from Germany
| |
|

This is such a fun and happy song. I love the carefree mood of it and the Jackson 5 vibes. I'm also addicted to "Lullaby of Bidland". Jazz-Mariah should be the next thing. I haven't heard the complete album yet because I'm waiting for the physical CD. But it's hard, I think I can't resist to start the Firecracker version on Mariah's channel. Greetings to you all and keep enjoying the one and only Mariah Carey.

That concert is giving me life. I have it on my PC for some years, but to watch it on this quality is everything. I was smiling the whole video, at the end there was a tear and then smiling again. I swear Mariah is taking my "Corona Blues" away. She gives me hope again. What a woman, what a voice. And [The Rarities] will be played again and again for a long time. Thank you Mariah.

I have to wait too. Amazon will send it on Thursday (because of our holiday on 3rd). It's really hard to wait while reading all your thoughts about the memoir. I'm so super excited. To think of the "new" album is almost too much. Haha. But I'm so ready to hear it.

Grunge meets Rock-Mariah. Haha. What a surprise. I remember an old interview where MC said that she loves "Smells Like Teen Spirit". I was really surprised back then. But now it makes even more sense. Mariah is music, she can do all genres. That's phenomenal. What's up next? I'm done and super excited.

Thanks Chezz. I watched the whole interview. With her "family" it really makes me sad. I do believe it was good for her to write some things. We are her lambily, and we'll always be.

"She really does have a dysfunctional family and toxic siblings." Yes, it's shocking. To call them ex-sister and ex-brother is still too nice. They are scum especially the "sister". Unbelievable.

Wow, I have it on repeat too. This is magic Mariah. When she sings "who we are" it's heavenly. How could she she keep it for so long? It's easily my new favourite song. So much emotion, that's why I love her. MC is really blessing us with "the rarities" at these dark times. The album will surprise us all. Mariah made this song her own. It suits perfect. Thanks Irena Cara for inspiring Mariah at a very young age.
