Re: E=MC2 vs. Memoirs (56,577) (56,579) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada That's the thing though, the listener experience is subjective based on our perceptions, so using Andrew's post as an example, he said he feels E=MC2 is better than TEOM, then for him it is. Period. How can we tell someone they're wrong for how they perceive something? Sure we can express different views on the matter, but it doesn't make one right and the other wrong. Some of my fave MC albums are Butterfly, debut, Memoirs, Daydream, MIAM, E=MC2 and TEOM and we could debate over who thinks what is better for the next decade, and posters on the board would still have differing views on the same albums. To me, they're both summer records full of creativity, fun, humor and lyrical genius. If I absolutely had to choose it would be Memoirs it is such an underrated beautiful album that sound fresh every listen. To hear the elevator music analogy is funny to me. I think sometimes MC gets accused of being calculating and manipulative when really she just goes about her life she just happens to have money and fame as part of the package. Just because there is speculation that Bey stole the concept behind MIAMTEC, doesn't make it fact. I didn't feel anything malicious behind Mariah's message, and I thought they both looked beautiful. There is room for all flavors and colors of the rainbow, and it shouldn't have to be viewed in fear as threat or a competition. There's no need to attack under the guise of supporting Mariah. The One is my song from that era. I love that song. Especially the live performance from MTV Through The Rain. I also love the TTR remix she did with Hex Hector. I have this odd memory of mariahcarey.com looping a part from "You Got me" on the main page where you enter the site for the longest time during that era. lol I'm also probably one of the only people on here who doesn't think her vocals on "Boy I Need You" are awful. I think it's interesting you mentioned that for whatever reason it is one of the only albums you listen to straight through. No judgement or anything, I just think that's an interesting observation. MOAIA (56,412) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada It's so nice to see the album getting some love lately. I'd gotten used to it being generally abhorred, and I absolutely love this album. I never tire of it and she gave some stunning live performances during this era. I was so fortunate to be able to get the collector's box. It's in my top 3 albums. (Monday 31 August 2015; 23:42)

I was listening to MC this weekend and as much as this community can nitpick, I just adore Mariah as a person and an artist. Her contributions to music and generally as a human on this his planet are amazing. Sure, I have not loved everything all of the time but some of her least successful commercial albums that the world considers flops, I absolutely love them. I feel so much joy watching her perform and I'm not measuring every performance by her past. I may not have dug the Infinity remix, but I so love collecting her music and I feel fortunate. Mariah's children's book (56,330) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada If Mariah wants to release a children's book for Christmas, why must it be assumed she's being manipulative, or looking for a money grab from fans? I mean sure, every business person wants their ventures to succeed, but Christmas is her self-proclaimed favorite time of year. She's a mom. Yes, a very famous mom, but a mom nonetheless. A children's Christmas book could be a really nice keepsake to pass on to her kids. Give her a break. (Thursday 27 August 2015; 4:57)

New layout / smartphones (55,791) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada The new layout is lovely. Just wondering though if anyone else is having trouble on their phone/tablet? It works fine on my desktop but on my iPhone I can't read the board messages. It only shows the message title. Maybe it's just me still finding my way around the new site. Lol.
