Love your post. I always find the relevance discussions amusing to observe, because it's like according to what? You know what I mean? People often talk about Emancipation being a huge comeback or whatever, and I'm not knocking that point of view one bit. It's valid if that's how you feel about it. The whole point is it's all subjective. Yeah, maybe Glitter wasn't a box office smash, but to this day I still think the movie is far more decent than people ever gave Mariah credit for as an actress. The soundtrack is very enjoyable. Maybe Charmbracelet, MOAIA and MIAM didn't do what people expected, but to me, she never "went" anywhere to "comeback" from lol. Things are what they are. You either except it or you don't. It's not about artists competing.

Star on Hollywood Walk Of Fame (55,488) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Very cool. Always wondered when she would go forward with that. And as far as her personal life goes, I'm not out there looking for information or details, not my business. But, as someone who cares about Mariah the person, I do hope she takes time for herself. Just because a relationship ends and you're no longer a thing, doesn't mean you're "over" the experience and I genuinely don't think Mariah is "over" it. I'm saying this as someone who loves her. I'm not judging her. I'm simply saying a new relationship can't fill or stuff the emotional void of the last one, and even though she's smiling on the outside I still think she's very sensitive to the experience. Just being 100% authentic as someone who loves her.

I also love To The Floor. Always surprises me to hear so many people dislike it, but if we all liked the same things, it would be boring. Lol. Most people hate MOAIA and I absolutely love that album. It's right up there with Butterfly and the debut for me. I am however finding it impossible to pick just one Mariah song. Lol.

So touching that I cried (55,229) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Just thought I'd share. At the end of the day as much as we all like to discuss musical politics, live performances, charts, career strategy ect, Mariah's music touches people, and is part of moments like this one.

Me, I Am Mariah (55,181) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Flat out doesn't get the credit it deserves. Not sure what else she could have offered up to be honest. It baffles me when I hear people say stuff like "Oh it was just to finish her contract with IDJ" or "her vocals aren't good enough". Really? Lol I think there are several tracks that are very radio friendly. Mariah isn't the only artist that isn't getting airplay.

Mimi L / Janet / Mariah (54,832) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I have to admit a partnership between Mariah and Janet would be awesome. I'm not going to count on it, but I think it could really work as a colab. Janet's new single is very good. It reminds me of the Janet album (1993) with a 2015 twist.

It all parties in any relationship (54,797) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Yes it didn't work out for Nick and Mariah, but I truly don't think everything he tweets or puts on his instagram is about Mariah. The public/media will read into everything because they are celebrities. And hey, if Mariah is ready to date someone. good for her. I wish her every possible happiness. I'm content not reading anything about it and I'll personally refrain from using a couple acronym. Lol.

Ticket upgrade for fan / MILG (54,702) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
What a lovely story to read on the site. I know she gets labelled a diva, but she has such a big heart. Love her. Make It Look Good is absolutely fantastic. A boat was missed by not releasing it as a single. I actually don't skip over songs on MIAM. I know some or less than impressed with the album, but I think she did an incredible album. Thirsty is not my fave track, but oh well, lol.

The first time I heard Mariah (54,557) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Was on the radio. They played VOL and LTT close together, might have even been back to back and I just felt this deep connection to her that I can't really explain. I was 12 and I begged my babysitter at the time to take me to a music store. Lol. We bought the debut album on cassette tape. I began collecting her music and the rest is history as they say. I'll never forget the first time I heard Selena either. I'm obsessed with music in general and love many different artists, but in terms of singers/musicians of all time? MC (still performing) and Selena (no longer performing).

"Hype" / Licia (54,086) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I feel what some might be calling "hype" re Infinity is actually how things are done when a label/team is behind their artist. Mariah simply didn't have that kind of support for a long time with IDJ and likewise people weren't prepared to hear the positive commentary. (Lol.) I enjoy Infinity. It's not my favorite song Mariah has ever put out, but I do love many things about it. The video is simple and fun and the quality of it is awesome. I still feel the song was never intended to be commercially mainstream ie "her 19th #1 single". I feel it's doing what it was intended to do, re-introduce MC to the public and promote Vegas. I'm not saying MC doesn't enjoy achieving #1 records I just don't have the sense this was ever their urgent expectation at this point (as reflected in comments by LA Reid). Licia, I can only speak for myself, but in those rare times where a song by an artist I am into hasn't been my bag, the video doesn't make a difference. (Lol.)

Mariah's being honest (53,917) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
She's been vocal about not liking much about her early music videos for years now. I think it's kind of funny that people are "shocked" by the rants. Maybe the general public that doesn't pay attention to any of her specials or interviews, but to anyone else? She's said the same types of things several times over in various things. She's not ragging on the fans or the music, but to me Mariah has always been a sensitive person, and that time in her life she felt like she had to hide to please people, so she's super critical of the videos because of how trapped she felt she was. If people are going to dismiss her for being honest about how she feels about something, there's nothing she can do about that.

Bsby (53,777) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Your comment made me giggle because Canada isn't exactly Lamb central either. I have never met other people in my area who consider themselves lambs (unless it has been online) but, since 1990 I have had several friends become fans. Perhaps my influence or MC collection rubbed off on them.

LC TGIFY (53,752) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
That is just stunning. Holy cr*p. Her voice just astonishes. On another note, I love Latin music. In 1995 Selena passed. She was in the process of recording her English cross-over album at the time of her passing. Over the weekend I was watching some interview footage of artists paying tribute to her, and up pops our Mariah talking about how the loss was felt around the world, and that her legacy lives on right now. Lovely moment.

I'll just say that my comment about Celine had nothing to do with Mariah (53,696) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
And leave it at that. Shade is a whole other thing. Thanks B and Baby for your comments.

B (53,689) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I'm not sure if you are addressing me with your last post or not (lol). But just to clarify I actually wasn't referencing Mariah. I just read her article welcoming Mariah to Vegas and was making an observation about Celine. My intention wasn't to underhandedly judge Mariah. Or make any sort of underhanded insulting comment about shade. We're all capable of dishing it. Now I kinda wish I had rephrased what I said. (lol)

Celine Dion (53,679) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I have never heard her utter an unkind word to anyone. For me, that's the only way to live. There's no need to dwell on negativity. It serves nothing, except to create unhappiness. I remember someone put her on the spot about Britney's residency in Vegas, and lipsyncing. It was a video about lipsyncing in general and how it is used in the industry with dancing and theatrics, and she was like "Who cares? Just enjoy the show." I loved it. Nobody can force someone to buy a ticket to see a show. Instead of judging someone for what they choose to do in their life experience, put on the CD at home.

Lea Salonga is an excellent example. I enjoy her. Thought Mariah was simply lovely on the show today. And wow to the dress.

I have been trying all day (53,650) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
To narrow down to 3 #1's. I'm finding it a nearly impossible task. (lol) Mariah and her music are such an influence on my life. I don't think I could pick just 3. Might sound like a cop out, but it's not I promise. I love so many of her songs for different reasons. Vision Of Love would be there. I literally bought a tape of her debut album right after it came out because I heard her on the radio. She blew me away and ever since I've enjoyed concert specials, interviews, CD singles with remixes. My All (see my username) and as for the third I literally can't decide. Everytime I try it's like "But what about that song? Or that song?" (lol)

Bill thanks so much (53,607) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
For taking the time to write out the notes for the EU tracks. Meant a lot to be able to read them.

Bill/ JLo (53,555) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
That's exactly what I feel intuitively. She checked her phone yes. I'm sure Mariah has done that at some point in life too. JLo happened to have a camera on her by people looking to create drama. (lol) She's clearly seen moving her head along to the song. This is what I mean about making everything a competition. It's so pointless.
