SLLY is my second favorite after ANN. That's why I was surprised that not many people on this board and UKMix like that song. That song is catchy and sexy and should be a single.

I live for SLLY. It's one of the strongest hit potentials on the album after "A No No". Gunna also has a lot of streaming pull.

Haha I'm so excited. This would be Mariah's first high profile collaboration in a pretty long time. I heard Cardi's team is also aware of it and apparently Cardi saw the video of Mariah talking about it on someone's iinstagram story. In other news both Mariah and Cardi were spotted at a studio today, so fingers crossed. I think this remix has already been recorded or at least already been signed off on by all parties because Mariah wouldn't just put it out there. She usually says names of people she would maybe like to collaborate with, but she has never been this specific about the collaborator and the song.

Apparently both Cardi and Kim's team knows about Mariah's interest. Plus Mariah went on Suss One's radio show and talked about the collaboration again, so I think it will happen. Mariah has hardly ever been so specific about which collaborator she wants on which song. But in a span of a few days she mentioned this collaboration twice. It's a brilliant idea. It can be like a girl's anthem and about girl power.

Mariah saying she wants that collaboration made My day. I've been wanting this since the moment I heard that song. I hope they pull through with it because it would be huge.

Li'l Kim and maybe add in Cardi B to secure streaming. I know a lot of lambs get offended when someone suggests using popular artists to help a song, but hey a hit is a hit. And if one song does really well on the charts, it will divert more casual listeners to "Caution" as a whole. "A No No" is just so catchy, it's bound to be big. But there needs to be strategic pushes, like making some of the iconic lyrics in that song go viral (like Ariana's "one taught me love, one taught me patience, one taught me pain" and then "thank you, next"). "A No No" has several slick lines "Get me Ed Shapiro on the phone", "It ain't even worth a slick reply", "Ed Scissorhands aka I cut you off" being some of them. She would also need a music video that has replay value.

"Stay Long Love You" (I love the song, it's very catchy and Gunna apparently is huge on streaming scores so that's always a plus), "A No No" (we cannot have a "Migrate" injustice repeat), or "Giving Me Life" (but I don't know if Mariah intends for it to be a single because in one of the interviews she was saying something along the lines of this song not trying to be a single or anything).

What? Stay Long Love You is my favorite from the 6 tracks we didn't hear before. It does remind me of "To The Floor" though and I like that song too.

Only difference is Mariah's song talks about throwing the toxic people out and Ariana tries to make it sound like a self love anthem where instead of hating on your ex, you are thanking them for teaching you a valuable lesson. Ariana is doing a subtle but clever promo, because I'm seeing a lot of "thank you, next inspired makeup tutorials" on instagram and YouTube and several big beauty community youtubers have either been casually dropping subtle positive reviews about the song in the middle of tutorials or doing looks inspired by the cover art (which is basically texts) and reaction videos. I'm more than sure now that she's using YouTube and Instagram celebrities, especially those in the beauty community (which is a huge part) to drive people to her song.

People mourn in different ways, however I found it shady that when Ariana was getting (wrongfully) attacked for Mac's relapse after their break up, she made a lot of cryptic tweets about how they shouldn't just assume she is the problem, hinting that Mac is the problematic one. So back then she hinted several times if I'm not mistaken about how she tried but eventually had to give up on Mac, but now suddenly in her new tweets and song Mac is the angel. I understand it must be traumatic for her, but to put his name in a song and posting several photos of him or of her with his dog is a little attention hog worthy move. That too so soon right after his death.

Japan bonus track (85,750)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

The Japanese bonus track is called "Runway", for those who are interested. The track is another collaboration with Skrillex. In other Mariah news, she is set to be featured in Meek Mill's new album to be released sometime next week.

I get Brenda's anger, I really do but she can't keep expecting Mariah to drop her name every time she makes a public appearance. Like does she expect Mariah to go "Hey, I am Mariah Carey, I was a background singer to the great Brenda K Mart and she helped me get my CD to Tommy Mottola." Mariah has mentioned this story many times but she can't be expected to always mention Brenda everywhere. She might have given Mariah the opportunity to give the demo to Tommy, but Mariah became the legend she is on her own iconic talent. Brenda gave me second hand embarrassment when she thought Kelly gave her a shout out in that "Voice" clip.

Biannual appreciation post for Triumphant (85,638)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
This is my 50th post (slightly exaggerated) to show my love and appreciation for Triumphant. Every time I go back and listen to that song, I love it and get chills. Triumphant remains one of Mariah's best songs, y'all can fight me over this. Honest to Lord if this isn't the modern hip hop thug life version of "Hero", I don't know what is (controversial line right there, I know). But seriously though this song is amazing. I know it flopped because it was a "lead turned buzz single" of a Mariah album after a long time and featured Mariah as only a hook/chorus girl, but it's still an amazing song. Ok, thank you for reading, if you don't agree, scroll away.

They do say "I couldn't care less" in America too. RibbonB was joking and she did say "inaccurately" name it "I could care less".
