About RibbonB from USA: I love Mariah's Music.

Re: Vanishing (87,775) (87,779) by RibbonB from USA
Seriously, same, 'cept I do like Vanishing myself.

She and JD have been writing versions of Always Be My Baby for decades now. JD didn't directly make this project. You'll just have to live with Portrait.

Babydoll has an over the top plot. That crib though. Creepy now in retrospect.

Re: The sequence of events (87,674) (87,677) by RibbonB from USA
Mariah is the target, due to her alleged deep pockets and because she is the boss, who was allegedly complicit in all the bad acts. Lianne was often seen with Mariah and she is supposedly Stella's cousin. The lawyer who supposedly ratted on Stella to Mariah is supposedly Stella's cousin as well. I was going to make a flow chart, but said meh, but since you asked. As for the snake Tanaka, he's definitely been paid to be around this whole debacle, but isn't allowed to say much. I see him as the ultimate enabler.

Well said.

Re: Mariah sues personal assistant (87,617) (87,618) by RibbonB from USA
Lots of people including myself have been bashing Stella and the whole team since day one, including myself. I've also continued to include the dancer who indulged and enabled since he got his come up, but everybody forgets about that. Time will tell if she wants to keep paying him, but what do you think is going to happen when she tries to fire him? Maybe they are writing that script now so they can figure out what Mariah World footage they want to release. Mimi should be alarmed about those 800 hours as much as any phone footage her other help was able to take.

Mimi the meme (87,607) by RibbonB from USA
"Time is not something that I acknowledge." Classic and so much better than that old "eternally 12".

No that makes it especially shady.

The shade.

New mess (87,578) by RibbonB from USA
Well just in time for the Caution tour, a new scandal. Mimi settled one suit, to turn around and sue a former assistant who secretly filmed embarrassing things. Will Mimi ever learn? What a weird story, random too, true or false.

Mariah's bubble (87,571) by RibbonB from USA
So it's been said that Mariah's bubble both insulates and isolates her. So it's a double edged sword. This was most evident to me at her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2015. I was happy for her, but it seemed rather sad. Her old team was gone, not there to support. Stella was locked to be hip. Her new rebound James didn't make the ceremony. The only representation she had was LA Reid, Brett Ratner and Lee Daniels and Steven Hill formerly of BET. Everything seemed so sterile in a way. The most glaring omission was none of her family members were present it shown. Of course she had her babies there to memorialize the moment, but there were no friends there to support. Hopefully her life is richer in friendships than we know, but in comparison Snoop's Walk of Fame ceremony had Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Quincy Jones and his family singing his praises. Mariah's relationships seem complicated both personally and professionally. Ultimately she will get her due.

Re: SWHOF (87,563) (87,570) by RibbonB from USA
People don't understand, or ignore, the fact that there are two categories of nominees. Mariah is in the performing category and Dallas is in non performing. The voters vote to induct three writers from each, so Mimi just didn't get enough votes to beat Missy, but maybe she was close. Now Jermaine and Mariah were nominated in performing category in 2018 and I think Mimi should have been inducted before him, but she might need to improve her networking. I am assuming Jermaine is considered a performer, but I didn't double check. As someone said Missy has worked with many artists and she interacts with them on social media.

Re: SWHOF (87,556) (87,557) by RibbonB from USA
Voting for the SWHOF is by members only. Politics may be involved, or just differences of opinion. It's really not fair to assume it's either Missy or Mariah, as Annie Lennox wasn't inducted either. Each year a pool of eligible songwriters are nominated in two categories, performing or non-performing songwriters. Somebody is always gonna get left behind. Hopefully Mariah won't be the Susan Lucci of the Song Writers Hall of Fame though, for years, always a nominee, never an inductee. It's great that she is still creating content, but is she putting out too much with diminished quality? Caution reviews aside, it's really not that epic.

Well it wasn't Mariah shade. He asked the questions about Jay-Z and R Kelly.

Re: R. Kelly (87,541) (87,542) by RibbonB from USA
Thanks for pointing that out. I was wondering how the Met ball even played into Nick and Mimi. Unfortunately, people want to assume the worst about Nick and even Mimi. I did hear that Nick found out some stuff which made him end that engagement to Selita abruptly.

Re: R. Kelly (87,532) (87,540) by RibbonB from USA
Ok listened to it. Good interview. I didn't detect real shade. Sounds like he talked to a mentor and friend, who might have been thinking about the difference, financial disparity and the flack Nick would get and it wasn't easy. But he also said they were in love. Most friends let love take its course. Funny how a lot of people who are by want Nick to share about his personal business are salivating at the prospect of Mimi spilling tea in her memoirs.

Re: R. Kelly (87,532) (87,535) by RibbonB from USA
I haven't watched the full I interview yet. But Mimi has talked about divorce being expensive herself. As recently as the Genius interview, or the radio station interview with Nessa. She said definitely no go marriage again, or more kids. Not to mention her own inconvenience suit. Marriage is in fact a business contract and often includes love. I should also point out that the savings could've been in legal fees, as he mentioned lawyers being the problem in holding up the divorce.

Songwriters Hall of Fame (87,533) by RibbonB from USA
Congratulations to Missie for being inducted this year. Too bad for Mariah. Her time will likely come soon.

Re: R. Kelly (87,520) (87,522) by RibbonB from USA
Yeah, our it out there, because people will Google anyway. They say R Kelly's Spotify numbers increased since the Lifetime series, some have speculated that many young watchers really didn't know his music. Same is surely speaking out. There are other podcasts where he goes into even more detail.

Re: R. Kelly (87,512) (87,517) by RibbonB from USA
Check this out. Most people ignore anything Nick does or says now, but he has done interesting chats on his channel. This one is with Dame Dash about R Kelly and Jay Z. Jay X has had a long association with the "pedo piper". One good thing that can come from this is the downgrading of "pimp culture" in hip hop and Hollywood in general.

Re: R. Kelly (87,489) (87,505) by RibbonB from USA
It's very sad how many parents are willing to sell their kids basically. There are lots of unclean hands involved, including law enforcement if he's running an actual sex trafficking ring.

Re: R. Kelly (87,481) (87,485) by RibbonB from USA
She worked with him in studio in Betcha Gon Know and to write new music, but their sounds were supposedly not compatible. He jumped on the TMB remix himself, but when Gayle King interviewed Mariah and asked about it, Mariah wanted the song to be officially released. She just ignored Gayle's attempt to get a comment about Kelly or his accusations.

Re: With You (87,423) (87,429) by RibbonB from USA
Honestly, has anyone heard the song on the radio? I live in one of the largest markets in the US, Los Angeles and it never gets played here. With You seems too boring to interest so called casual listeners.

Re: Hilton (87,378) (87,384) by RibbonB from USA
She looked ok, but the voice was not good, especially after having "extreme vocal rest".
