I would pick MIAM over Emotions, anytime, anyday, anywhere. Emotions is bland, dark and disturbing and full of fillers ("And you don't remember", "So Blessed", "You're So Cold", "If it's Over", "To Be Around You") it's just too formulaic and the ballads except for "Till the end of time" and "Can't Let Go" are quite forgettable. Heck the album even has just only 10 songs. What carries the album are her flawless vocals and layering. The only filler on Me. I Am Mariah, is that horrendous "Money" song with Fabolous.

Nick and Mariah (74,956)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |
|
|
I see them getting back together again, but not making it official like marriage all over again. She's comfortable and herself around Nick Cannon (recall how stiff she always was around James?), like no pretence just Mariah. And I love that someone like Nick is more present in her life even if it's just for the kids. She listens to Nick especially career advice wise, if I'm not mistaken it was Nick who told her to cover Foreigner's "I want to know what love is", and look how big a hit it was in most parts of the world, even if anything just for the nostalgia especially in Brazil. So I'm glad he's back kinda.

Top 5 Mariah Carey albums (74,933)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |
|
|
Speaking of albums, I gravitate towards some of her work much more than others, and very rarely play the rest. And I can honestly say this is my top 5 favorite Mariah albums of all time. In this order: 1. Butterfly (this one made me a lamb) 2. The Emancipation of Mimi 3. Mariah Carey 4. Daydream 5. Me. I am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse To me this [sic] records are a true reflection of Mariah.

"I've also finally listened to TEOM in its proper sequence, and surprisingly I also didn't really like it." Gasp. (Aims cannon of bricks permanently shooting at you.) Lol. Funny enough I find Emotions very bland and boring and way too dark and that mirror flipped album cover doesn't help matters, but I nitpick a few songs I love like "Make it Happen", "Can't Let Go" and "To be around you" and "The Wind". I also so same with Music Box.

Thanks Edouard, I feel the same way too. You get who Mariah the person is first and foremost before anything else. Pay no attention to those negative ones on here, like she said in her song "Obsessed", "Ain't gon feed you, Imma let you starve, gasping for air? I'm ventilation." Haha. So pay no attention to those others. "They don't matter, they're just backup." Sound familiar?

Your logic doesn't even make sense. Nick and Mariah are what's in discussion here. Not James and Mariah. You do know the difference between a marriage and an engagement now don't you? Nick and Mariah were still legally married (all caps) when he went grinding with those women and the general bad behaviour he put up for the whole world to see. Mariah on the other hand was single and just engaged (all caps) she's single at that point and still at liberty to live the life of one who's single. An engagement isn't legally binding, but a marriage is. Jeez.

You're a man Andrew and so am I. You have something to say to me, don't say it indirectly cosigning another person. Say it to me like a real man would. Cowardly much? You're the crazy here talking shite and rambling nonsense and no one takes you seriously. Always remember that.

Yes I see her as a grounded celebrity. Do you have a problem with that? Mariah has money but hasn't let it get into her head, and doesn't do the stupid things people like her who have touched money do, she's pretty much the same Mariah Carey from the start. She knows who she is and has stuck to it and doesn't strive to blend in or fit into a particular standard or any one's box. She leads, not follows. You Bill seem to be living under a rock if you as a Mariah fan (as you claim to be) haven't noticed that about her. Mariah repeats clothes, pretty much looks the same and isn't botched like say Lil Kim, Cher or those Kardashians (seen how Khloe looks lately?), nor going around looking altered and stupid with the so called "Duck Lips" fad plague that seems to have taken over Hollywood and even the general public. She treats people nicely like they're actual people. That's not grounded enough huh Bill for Uk? You look stupid making that statement now don't you?

So many qualities Mariah has that I noticed and love about her. But here's just a few. I love that she's a grounded celebrity, still kept her friends from before she went famous. Her faith in God, even in the face of odds and despair (Glitter debacle and Charmbracelet bleak era) "Through the rain" was written in that time and that validates the song she bounced back. Her work ethic (makes me strive to achieve in my field too) and most importantly her voice. Mariah has a healing attribute to her voice and music. Like literally her music seems "alive"(ever heard new parts to her songs you played a thousand times?) and can take you out of bad moods and put a grin on your face just like that.

New Vevo for 90's artists (74,693)
by Terna from Nigeria

I noticed the 90's artists are getting a lot of love from Vevo. All the videos I love and grew up watching and singing along with are all there, we'll [sic] most of them. Lol. Like the group "Brownstone", those girls are vocal beasts (all caps). They have up one of the most vocal songs by any girl group "If You Love Me". And it's an acapella version. Just pure bliss. Check it out.

That's impressive for a song that really didn't chart high on the Billboard hot 100, and was released barely 3 months ago. "#Beautiful" was a bona-fide hit and still didn't get that many Vevo views, and only still has like 40 million views as we speak. This means not only the lambs got into the song but casual listeners too.

I thought the same thing too as I indicated in my earlier post that Epic now has her in high priority again; makes us the fans heave a sigh of relief. Lol. I'm expecting this to be Mariah's return to form and yes that includes ballads. Write big songs for that big voice and unleash "The Voice" again. As Jermaine Dupri once said, "She's the one to sing when the voice needs to be heard." Right now we need that voice.

Ironically, I just listened to that remix too. Lol. It's my favorite Mariah Rap-sung collaboration ever, and In my opinion the best. She got it right with this one. It's melodic, memorable, and haunting at the same time. This remix is one of the reasons why I don't get mad when she kinda misses the mark with unnecessary ones like "#Beatiful" feat. Asap rocky or "Triumphant".

Epiphany... ideas? (74,390)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |
|
|
First of congrats Mariah on your new deal. It lets the Lambily know Epic/Sony Records still hold her in high priority. They say 3rd time's a charm, so I hope this time she finds mega success with the new label. On the new album, I just had an epiphany its release date just might be 16th September 2017, with a box set of "Butterfly" - the album, featuring unreleased songs. Now, that would be epic (all caps).

Re: Mariah Carey: winner by default (74,275) (74,286)
by Terna from Nigeria

I once told you to stay outta my replies, now didn't I? First things first there's a God, whether you choose to believe or not has nothing to do with that fact, point blank period. Secondly, the term "favorite" as used in my original post indicates that God has those who's responsibility, burden and life journey has much more significance and importance than others. (Moses, Abraham, Noah etc. Are you even a Christian? Do you read the Bible? Were you brought up in the ways of the Lord? Apparently not. That would explain a lot about.) Do you think we still don't have them today? Modern day versions? If you do you must be more lost than you come across. Even Mariah Carey (the singer you quesionably Stan for) acknowledges that there's a higher power at play or songs like "Vision of Love", "Fly Like a Bird" nor the hoard of other songs in which she references God (I bet you skip those songs) won't exist. So who are you to question his existence and who he chooses? I won't stoop to your level to name calling, I don't know you personally, we haven't even met. Not once. But I'm not the one who's shown erratic behavior, derogatory name calling, sudden unexplained outburst and temper tantrums, with a general reputation of being highly unstable and difficult on this messageboard. Only you Andrew carry that title. Even the newbies on here don't take long to zoom in on you and notice there's something off about you. Oh Andrew why are you like this? Do you have love in your real life? Do you have the capacity to love?

Mariah Carey: winner by default (74,274)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |
|
|
She's a special one. God's favorite (yeah the most high does have favorites). She stays winning by default. Everything she touches turns gold. A career spanning three decades of record breaking, staggering achievements even other legends would kill for. A body of work unmatched, still relevant, still talked about, still kicking and most importantly the most beautiful kids of any celebrity and generally. Sounds like a career to be envious of. She's got nothing more to prove, she's done it all and come out on top everytime. Indeed she is "#1 to Infinity".

Re: The Art of Letting Go conversation (74,246) (74,255)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |
|
|
Eduoard you made me chuckle "The Art of Letting Go" is not about Nick Cannon at all. It's about Tommy and maybe her siblings. That line "bundle all your possessions outside the kitchen window" I feel is used as a figuratively. The word "possessions" could mean traits or insecurities she got as a result of her time with Tommy, being dominated and not being able to be herself, her trust issues, feeling she has a good side etc. All that stems from Tommy, he's the common denominator. So it's the process of letting of all that which she sings isn't easy. Mariah is such a master songwriter she leaves it open for interpretation and application to our lives. To me, that song is the most important song she's every written. It came from a different place. It's real, it's raw and very relatable.

Daydream era (74,174)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |
|
|
I don't think Mariah is very fond of the "Daydream" album or era. Kinda like how she blotches "Glitter" the soundtrack out and doesn't sing songs from that album, with "Daydream" it's only "Always be my baby" she never seems to miss an opportunity to sing. Lol. And that's understandable because of the oppression she was going through at the time, maybe the other songs are bitter reminders? Just a thought.

Remy vs. Nicki (73,935)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |
|
|
So I was late to the party, and just found out Mariah actually does watch Wendy Williams's show (even though she refuses to go on it lol) because it was Wendy who suggested Mariah hook up with Remy just to spite Nicki. My problem with this scenario is, it does come across as Mariah trying to use the situation for relevance, she should've stayed out of this beef (you're music royalty Mariah, not ratchet and classless like those two, act as such). Secondly, the remix isn't that good either. The comments on Facebook are brutal.

Re: What Mariah should have learned from Whitney (73,915) (73,933)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |
|
|
It's the recordings on wax that live on forever and get rediscovered by generation after generation, even long after we're all gone ("All I want for Christmas" for example). Anything after that is just extra. And Mariah's smart and knows that. Not live performances, nor television appearances. 10 years from now the television programs of now won't even be remembered.
