Revaluation (43,936) by Darryle from USA
I listened to the album again and my opinion has changed. My first review was all positive but that was because the album was out and I wasn't really listening to the music just fan manning over having new music. After two listens I've decided this album is a 4.5/5 stars. It's got all the elements to be a hit album. The only thing is sometimes instrumentation and production mess up the song. For example the Heavenly drum track messes up that song and the background vocals on Dedicated along with the instrumentation makes it feel somewhat busy. Despite these minor things this album is still a hit and is joining the ranks of Butterfly and Daydream. Mariah was really experimental with the sound of this album and it really paid off. You get something new that still sounds slightly reminiscent of her. Her vocals are top notch. Fav tracks: Supernatural, Dedicated, Cry., Meteorite, and Camouflage.

Meteorite (43,934) by Jhonny from Guyana
Mariah needs to release Meteorite as a single along with a great video to accompany this song. Meteorite is a great song and can make it to #1 it's very addictive and different. Love this song my favourite.

Commodore (43,933) by Darryle from USA
They fixed the song Money with Fabulous. It's there now you can listen to it. The Memoirs songs won't be on the first play. They are only giving the clean standard edition of the album. So no Memoirs or curse words until May 27th.

Me. I Am Mariah thoughts (43,932) by clueey23 from USA
Not only is this album amazing but it's almost as if MC is in my head. Everything down to the Eddie Kendricks sample of "Going Up in Smoke" on "Mediorite". That's literally my two most favorite voices on a track. I now understand why I love MC and all the people she chooses to work with, similar musical influence and taste. Thank you QTip for that song "Mediorite". Cry is just on another level. Faded would blow up if released but love it so much, I'm stingy, not everyone should have the pleasure. Dedicated with the WuTang sample and Nas is amazing. I have so much love for the vibe that song gives me. #Beautiful, You're Mine and The Art of Letting Go sit so well in this package. Thirsty is a banger with and without Rich Homie Quan. Make It Look Good sounds so classic. Stevie on that hermonica is just like the cherry on top. His laugh at the beginning damn near brought tears to my eyes. That intro on "You Don't Know What to Do" is so above and beyond everything currently being played on radio. This song with Wale is so real, reminding me of a past relationship. "Now that I've found myself, you're aching to be mine." That scatting she does is everything. "Supernatural" literally brings to my eyes. "You make the beat, you make the beat go." Such a beautiful and natural love song for her family. Most def an "Impossible" part 2. That key change tugs at my heart strings. Not to mention her babies singing sounding so talented, those adlibs at the end of the song.

Promo (43,931) by Rón from United Kingdom
I really think Mariah and her team need to step up the promo for this album. I think the WMA performance will gain a lot of coverage but I also agree that she should do more interviews and actually talk about the album, the music and the tour. Famous talk shows like Jimmy Fallon would be a good option in my opinion, even talk shows over here in the UK. It looked like she enjoyed Alan Carr when she was over last time. I think the album will do well regardless but with touring around the corner, promo needs to step up.

I totally agree with you. The thuglove genre is her trademark. She pioneered it. Well anyways, she has a lot of trademarks, thuglove, very wide vocal stretch, melismas (upper and lower registers), whistles, vocal layering/different textures of voice, great remixes. It is funny those who said "Meteorite" is a new genre for her. They totally don't know Mariah. If you comeback to Fantasy and Butterfly era, the remixes are like Meteorite. Even "Anytime You Need a Friend remix" has a touch of this. I hate ignorance. No need to criticise bad about this MEIAM album. It's meant to be praised. It's flawless, it's fantastic, strong voice, excellent production, new textures on the instrumentation and also nostalgic Mariah. It's absolute perfection. Any negative comment is unnecessary. Lets put this on top of the charts.

Congratulation Mariah Carey (43,929) by Mohd Syafali Izwan from Malaysia
I just want to say thank you so much Mariah for this new album. It is really amazing and I love almost all the songs. This is your best work ever. I love you from all of my heart and please come to Malaysia when you are doing a tour. Congratulation and thank you for this amazing gift for us.

The album is amazing (43,928) by javier from chile
This is without a doubt one of Mariah's best albums to date. I love it. I have been a fan since 1990 and I love all sides of Mariah. I feel most of her fans always choose one of her sides while I've been lucky to just fall for all her musical ventures. This is Mariah at its finest. I feel so sorry for people who expect her to sound as if she was 20. I mean she's 44 and still has a voice that is full of emotion and jaw-dropping. Others expect her to drop the rappers. Don't you know Mariah at all? She is crazy about urban music, she knows every rapper under the sun, she will never drop her hip-pop collabos since she made it a standard. Love and peace. Enjoy this magnificent artist.

One More Try (43,927) by Licia from USA
I think she did a good job. Maybe she held back because she knows that song doesn't need all that hooping and hollering. Just my opinion.

Commodore / Supernatural (43,926) by Licia from USA
Mariah posted on Twitter that they forgot to add Money, but it should be fixed now. I'm listening now to see if it's there. Supernatural is a beautiful song and the kids parts are too cute. Miss Monroe is really singing. Love it.

Guilty? No more (43,925) by Marquinhos from Brazil
Since the TEOM album everything Mariah has released was good, but never something I was really proud of. I always liked them with a little guilty, like if it wasn't a Mariah song or album I wouldn't feel the same way. But now, now this new album actually is way more than good. Finally Mariah has released an album that can be compared to "Daydream", "Music Box" and "Butterfly". I can say, without any guilty, that "Me. I Am Mariah" is in her top 5 album list. So proud of you, Mimi. You made my cry listening your album today. No doubt it was worth the wait. Will buy a physical copy as soon as it comes out.

Worth the wait (43,924) by Mara from United States
All I can say is "Thank you Mariah" for Cry, for Faded, Meteorite, and for Camouflage and so many more. But those are amazing songs. Camouflage is a signature song only Mariah can deliver. Amazing. I get chills listening to that song. Meteorite is unlike anything she has ever done and I am loving the sound of it. I am so proud of her right now. Faded has a sadness to it and I agree with Marquise that it's about Nick. Listen to the lyrics. I love how you can hear her love and adoration for her children in Supernatural, especially when she says "yes you are dahhhhling" that is a side as a longtime lamb I was not sure we would see. I love the album and hope it gets to number one and she deserves Grammys for this one. Those Katy Perry's and Rhianna cannot hold a candle to Miss Mariah Carey and she is reminding them all with this album. Steller.

Her best album (43,923) by CHAZ from USA
This is Mariah's most personal, most in-depth album to date. If you listen to each song with the lyrics in front of you, you will change your perspective in believing that this is her best album. Me. I Am Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse. Standing O, darling, Standing O. I am blessed by The Voice once again. Thank you.

I'm new (43,922) by Rón from United Kingdom
Hi guys, I'm new to the message board although I have been reading for months now and became a real fan during American Idol. I am so excited for this album but have not listened to the streaming on iTunes because I want to wait for my physical copy. I'm loving that Mariah is getting positive reviews for the album and can't wait to hear the new music, especially after YJDKWTD. Love that tune. Anyone have any ideas about the world tour? I'm so looking forward to maybe seeing her live.

May 27, 2014 (43,921) by Special K from USA
I Special K will not be streaming nothing. I'm gonna keep it old school and maintain my tradition of buying a new Mariah Carey album on the day it drops. Yes honey the ritual of actually taking my happy ass to the store and buying the CD. Once I get home I'm going to tear off the plastic wrap like I haven't eaten in a week. Then I will gently place the CD in the CD player and press play. While laying in the bed listening to the music and reading all of the shout outs, writers, and producers, I'm pretty sure while I'm in la la land I will have to tell my husband and my boys to shut hell up, lol. Judging from the reviews, May 27, 2014i can't get here soon enough for me. Side bar: Yes I will buy the album off of iTunes as well.

Meteorite (43,920) by G.G. from USA
I love Meteorite. It reminds me of Janet Jackson and Donna Summer for some reason. It sounds different than anything MC has ever done.

iTunes Radio from another country (43,919) by Alex from England
I live in the UK and I managed to stream the album just by changing my location to USA in iTunes' settings. I'm surprised they actually let you do that but hey, it made my day. It is good to see all the people who had already written Mariah off come back with praise galore. I am in love with the album and am quite satisfied the way she gave everyone something to enjoy. The ballads are as 90's Mariah as we'll ever get, the midtempo songs like Dedicated and Make It Look Good are great feel good records. I love the fact that she actually kind of strayed from the Mariah formula and took chances. I hope she will remember this for the future, she can be a trend-setter if she wants to just by following her heart, the same way she did all those years ago with Butterfly. Her voice may be different from what it used to be but listening to the album I kept telling myself "Damn, only Mariah can create a song like Camouflage with all those vocals, left, right and center." She is the only artist that still gives me the exact same euphoric feeling when I listen to her songs for the first time as when I fell in love with her music 16 years ago. I hope that people can now finally let her be a bit more and cut her some slack now that she's finally released the album and hasn't disappointed IMO. Enjoy.

MIAM (43,918) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
Having just streamed the album, I don't want to commit to an opinion too soon, but I have to say I really enjoyed it. The only song I did not like was One More Try. It was a very poor take by Mariah, both in terms of her vocal delivery and understanding of the lyrics. Everything else on the album was a banger. Love the collabo with Nas. His verse is great and Mariah smacks the shit out of that song. They are great together. Did I mention that almost everything on the album is a certified banger? Lol.

Exclusive Chanteuse - review (43,917) by ADAM from USA
I love the new album. I will admit I was skeptical based on hearing YME and TAOLG however I feel the best tracks have not been released as singles yet and agree with MC that when heard as a whole the album cuts are beautiful and hypnotic. IMO, Your Mine Eternal should have been left off the album, its completely boring - dumb lyrics and melody, we didn't need WBT Part 5. Also TAOLG doesn't belong on the album - its lyrics are too verbose and don't make sense in a melodic form, it's also boring and not add anything to the album. My only fault with the album is that she should have dropped these 2 songs and added the Beautiful (re-sung vocal mix) dance mix from the 7/23 voice message and another unheard song from her archives. Aside from that, the album showcases her voice's complete versatility - from the soft whispers, mid-voice, high-pitches and some new tones and textures we haven't heard before. It's truly amazing. I also think the sounds and producers she choose were very complementary to her voice. Hope you guys like as well. My fingers are crossed we'll be able to get her to #1 for any one of these singles.

Feeling guilty (43,915) by Mark from United States
So the whole album is on my iPod already and I feel pretty guilty about it, even though I've got it preordered on iTunes and will probably get a physical copy too. It still bugs me though that it leaked already and that I caved and downloaded it, and although I know it's all more about the music than the sales I feel this album deserves to sell big because I think it's truly in MC's top 3 albums ever. Cry is an awesome opening track and reminds me of a Billy Joel song for some reason, really adult and emotional sounding. Faded and Dedicated are both amazing and straight 90's Mariah, if she had named this album Butterfly II these two songs would have to be on it. Make It Look Good is definitely the closest thing to a EMOM track on the album, while You Don't Know What To Do and Meteorite are in my opinion 2 of her best uptempo songs ever. Camouflage has great lyrics and I think One More Try might her best cover ever. I had high expectations and this album exceeded them, I can't find anything negative to say about it so I'll shut up now and just say I hope it gets the credit it deserves.

Me. I am in love with this album (43,913) by Anonymous from
Ok I forgot one thing. The song Heavenly, I love it but I hate that drum track behind it. Heavenly is one of my favorite gospel songs and I feel like the little bit of auto tune messed it up. I wished she was just natural on it since it's a gospel song. But other than that I love the song. I think Mary Mary has the best vocal and music performance of this song but yeah.

Missing tracks? (43,911) by Commodore from USA
Hey guys. Well I have to say the album is amazing, her best effort IMO. It joins the leagues of TEOM and Butterfly. I streamed it online at iTunes but noticed tracks were not included in the preview, including Money feat Fabulous and the Memoirs duets. Idk maybe Mariah likes those tracks and didn't want them to leak.

Completely satisfied (43,909) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I was so hungry for this album, I feel she covered all the bases. I am kind of amazed actually, she totally surprised me by being so experimental. If you can't find something to love here, I feel bad for you.

Reply to You Don't Know What To Do / album reviews by Panos from Greece (43,908) by Liz Archer from Sweden
You Don't Know What To Do / album reviews by Panos from Greece, said "You Don't Know What To Do is definitely one of her best songs during the last decade. Hands down. It is exactly what I wanted for her to do for centuries now. The only thing that I can't ''digest'' is Wale's speaking during that breath-taking intro." Thank you. Yes, is exactly what has been annoying me about this otherwise stellar song.
