On the radio (42,929) by Darryle from USA This is off topic of what everyone else is talking about but I heard Mariah twice on the radio this weekend. I heard Emotions and ABMB. When they came on I just started jamming out and singing. It made me really happy to hear her. It's a good sign that she's getting played because I live in Japan on a military installation so our radio is top 40 and request. So that means someone out there on base is thinking of Mariah. This just goes to show that Mariah has longevity and a lot of artists don't have that. Half the music on the radio won't be remembered 15 years from now but songs from 95 and 91 are still getting played. I'm happy for Mariah, she's got a legacy and it's long lasting. Re: Secret duet (42,925) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands I don't think you should believe anything QueenMC writes. When asked what his sources are, he never answers. On April 16 he said the album was called "Liberation", one day (!) later he said the album was called "Illusions" and he even presented a full tracklist. The same day he told us about a duet with Justin Bieber, called "Swap It Out". On April 18 he knew the album has a Minnie Riperton/The Sherelles sounding. On April 20, he suggested the album was pushed back to July 3. On April 21, he said Mariah has recorded more than 20 songs for the album. On April 25, he said the album is called "Heavenly Existence" and now he tells us the album title and tracklist could change the last minutes. Yeah right, this way he can tell us later that all his fantasies he shared with us were true. (Saturday 26 April 2014; 13:17)

About the album, title and tracks may change at the last minutes. She still has time to make new decisions. It's a digital release so it's possible to have more then 15 tracks. To have and not to hold, digital release is a cop out on MC/IDJ part (42,923) by Paul from Usa In my oppinion an "all at once digital release" is a huge cop out on Mariah's/IDJ part. It's definitely the less risky option at this point in her career. Big bucks go into the production and disbursement of millions of discs, album art. Going digital is just gonna relieve all those expenses, and eventually they'll print physical copies according to sales on iTunes, and other digital outlets. I don't like the idea of digital products. I like having a physical copy of anything I purchase. iTunes may not be around forever. Some people may not have iTunes or access to the digital world. Then what? I just don't understand the logistics of it all. She's saying she's "beyonceing" her release, but not really. This isn't a surprise, it's just another tally on the disappointments and let downs we've been given. We've been waiting for a new album for years. Things keep changing. We still do not have a release date, for all we know it will be delayed until Christmas. (Saturday 26 April 2014; 11:53)

No secret at all (42,922) by Orkun from The Netherlands I personally do think the album was gonna pushed back, but the overload of criticism made them change their mind. This is not a secret release. The only secret is the album title, cover and single. For the record, not only pop music is marketing influenced but everything. Every genre. They released a promo video of her well deserved accomplishments. Isn't this marketing too? I'm happy it gets released. Truly. I just miss the honesty. JD was nervous during his last interview and to me, it felt like he didn't support her choices but he just simply followed orders. I didn't feel his confidence. Trying to prove she could still sing with TAOLG? What kind of a statement is that? It's like hanging a big poster in a public place that says "everybody knows that smoking is bad". I think I prefer it in black and white as it really works with the bold yellow lettering. She looks beautiful as always. QueenMC, please, you've been dropping hints about the album for a while now. If you are indeed privy to its content and title, please don't spoil the surprise for those of us waiting for Mariah's official announcement. The natural era / my rambling lol (42,911) by Marquise from USA Lately Mariah has been giving us this natural look for this era. From #Beautiful video and performances, to The Art of Letting Go cover art, to Your're Mine video and The Billboard Magazine Cover. I'm really loving this natural look on her. I think the the album cover will be simple sweet and natural. Maybe the album cover is right in our face (Billboard magazine cover). Anyways I just love it all. Glad to see the remix go #1. I also think the album will be released digitally on iTunes on her anniversary, which is next Wednesday, have a whole iTunes take over, then May 6 the psychical copies will come out along with a new single she will use to promote the album (hopefully we get a big promo from her and her team like TEOM or E=MC2). Billboard cover (42,910) by Ryan from Canada So the album is definitely a "all-at-once digital release" confirmed by the cover of the May 3rd edition of Billboard. I wonder if that means the album will be out before or on May 3rd? Maybe that's why the release date has been taken off of the outlets. My guess is it will show up May 3rd on iTunes. Angelo (42,906) by Will from England Mariah isn't in control over what gets released as a single or not. She has, countless times, regretted over the fact that Migrate was not a single. I even think she told a lamb that directly through twitter. She had to fight to get a song like CTTA to be a single, and when she eventually won, Sony didn't fully support it. I wouldn't be surprised if it has been the same with each album she has put out. Wasn't The One supposed to be a single, but the label decided to change it to "Boy" because it was more "radio friendly"? If she's had to put "finishing touches" or whatever, I would not be surprised if she came out to say that the label asked her to go back to the studio. And if I remember correctly, LA Reid asked her to do exactly that with TEOM (which in turn yielded WBT etc.). I guess with other artists, like Rihanna maybe, the "struggle" isn't so profound, since she (Rihanna) doesn't write or produce her songs, so it's all up to the label. With Mariah, it's a whole other ball game. These songs are personal to her because she writes them, so naturally she would have more input on what she wants to be released. Re: Angelo (42,904) by Jono from USA I don't think you realize that pop/mainstream music is an image industry. It is all about marketing and what can sell. The artist has, at most, half of the control over their artistic image because the label usually decides what the public gets to hear. Think about Mariah's credentials before TEOM. She had to fight to get Shake It Off as a single because the label was so adamant to put Say Somethin' as the third single. Even though Mariah writes and produces all of her songs, it still has to be green lit by the label execs otherwise they can shelve the project and not sell it. I'm sure if Mariah had complete control, Migrate would have been a single. In fact, in a recent interview she said she wanted it to be a single but the label wanted to repeat the TEOM formula which is why they released the "big ballad" as the second single. Before you criticize Mariah, who was the first artist to really reach out and make a connection to fans (not all the new artists nowadays who use it as a marketing gimmick to appear more "real")? Think about all that she has done and be thankful something new is coming out soon. She is a full time mother, which is a hard enough job already. I have a special feeling about this album. Patience. Honestly (42,902) by Jeremey Carey from United States I do believe part of getting TAOLG and YME was because a lot of the fans complained about #Beautiful not having enough Mariah and she gave us "Mariah"only music. I do think the next single will be a collaboration. I would love for the guest star to be Beyonce or Rhianna and the single she releases is with her and a hot commodity, so she can hitch a ride to number one, yet again. (Friday 25 April 2014; 22:55)
