About Bill from the UK: I love Mariah more than you do.

London Daydream Tour Attendee.

Daydream EPs (94,901) by Bill from the UK
Okay, so it looks like MC has slipped Merry Christmas which I thought might happen. But hopefully shell continue the celebrations for the rest of the year and Merry Christmas will get its moment.

The Daydream EPs are up. Absolutely brilliant that Underneath the Stars and its brilliant Drifting Remix is finally out there for the world. Very nice surprise to see this Sweet A Capella version of UTS that I had never heard before.

I'm disappointed Always Be My Baby is missing the three Reggae Soul mixes. Particularly as the Reggae Soul Acapella was a vinyl only release.

Fantasy and One Sweet Day are both in tact though which is great. I love the Chucky's Remix of OSD, one of her best.

Re: AYNAF (Soul Convention Remix) video (94,893) (94,896) by Bill from the UK
For the longest time I was saying how HTHAS at GMA was 1991, due to the Can't Let Go video hairdo, but everyone kept insisting it was 1994. The arrangement is different (and better) to the version that ended up being recorded.

Hundreds, but my throwaway Kodak didn't really do it justice lol. They are in storage though unfortunately. I still have the programme and the black t shirt that I wore for about a year afterwards lol.

AYNAF (Soul Convention Remix) video (94,878) by Bill from the UK
Wow, MC just uploaded a video for the Soul Convention Remix of AYNAF with new footage. I never even knew this existed until today. Is there hope for the Underneath the Stars video? Also will she release Can You Hear Me (had to get it in there). PS. I was at the London leg of the Daydream tour FYI.

Re: Bill (94,862) (94,873) by Bill from the UK
Haha thank you Jade. Alas, it dries up post-Rainbow as I stopped collecting after that point (had to draw a line somewhere, and her remixes were never as good as they were in the mid 90s so I wasn't too bothered not having every version). But yes if the specialist subject is MC remixes 1990-2000 then sign me up haha.

Re: MC30 (94,854) (94,870) by Bill from the UK
Yes I also had all the remixes as well Jamie. However, there were some vinyl exclusives that are now digital which is great. My vinyl versions were getting very crackly due to the records being so old (and well played), and my digital transfers still had the vinyl pops and clicks present. Whilst I do find the vinyl background noise endearing, it is great to have clean, spotless versions of the C&C Dub, All That & More Mix and Boriqua Tribe Mix, which was always one of my favourites (in terms of club versions, as nothing beats the Soul Convention Remix).

Re: Merry Christmas / Daydream remix EPs (94,868) (94,869) by Bill from the UK
How did I forget that (exclamation mark). I love those extra coos at the beginning. I'm not sure if that counts as a remix or just a remaster/another version from the mastering sessions. It wasn't designated as a remix on the compilation, much the same for the alternative God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman that appeared in the mid-00s (from memory). How Much on The Ballads is also different from the version on Rainbow but, again, not designated as a remix.

I'm not sure how I feel about these. I need to dwell on this for a moment lol. Thank you for appreciating my posts.

Merry Christmas / Daydream remix EPs (94,860) by Bill from the UK
So, on the off chance Mariah her very self read my remix post and used it as inspo, here's the remix breakdown for Merry Christmas and Daydream. I hope Merry Christmas doesn't get overlooked as it's, you know, not Christmas.

All I Want for Christmas Is You:
1. So So Def Remix
2. Extra Festive
3. Super Festive
4. Mariah's New Dance Mix
5. Mariah's New Dance Mix Edit
6. Mariah's New Dance Mix Extended

Joy to the World:
1. Celebration Mix Edit (aka Radio Club Mix)
2. Celebration Mix
3. Flava Mix
4. Crash Dub Crash
5. Club Mix

12. Daydream Interlude (Fantasy Sweet Dub Mix)

*Many believe this mix to be identical to Bad Boy with ODB, but there is a difference. Albeit very small. The "jump jump" line in the rap has an echo on one version and not the other.

1. A Cappella
2. Sweet A Cappella
3. Chucky's Remix

Always Be My Baby:
1. Mr. Dupri No Rap Radio Mix

11. ST Dub

Underneath the Stars:
1. Drifting Remix
2. Drifting Remix w/o Rap

This website's discography has a promo with a UK Radio Mix, UK Dance Mix and UK Live Mix. I am uncertain how authentic this is. However, these are actually the Album Version, Drifting Remix and MSG live performance respectively.

As always let me know if I have missed anything please.

Re: MC30 (94,855) (94,859) by Bill from the UK
I have every faith in Mariah that she'll deliver. Her original teaser post indicated live performances, remixes, and B sides. So far, we haven't seen a B side (I don't count Don't Play That Song), so here's hoping that Do You Think of Me, Slipping Away, this mystery Can You Hear Me I won't shut up about, and others find their way onto a B Sides EP.

Re: MC30 (94,854) (94,857) by Bill from the UK
Also Never Forget You EP. This was exactly as I predicted earlier with the mixes so yay. Shame though that Do You Think of Me didn't make it onto the Dreamlover EP but I am still hopeful we will get a B Sides EP before these celebrations are over.

Re: Article: Should have been bigger: Mariah's "Triumphant (Get 'Em)" (94,839) (94,849) by Bill from the UK
For the record I don't detest any Mariah song. I'd sooner listen to a "bad" Mariah track over anything by any other artist. That's why she's my favourite. It's just when it's stacked up against Vision of Love, Always Be My Baby, Migrate (should have been a single), The Roof, Anytime You Need a Friend, Dreamlover, Emotions, All I Want for Christmas Is You, Languishing, Make It Happen, Vanishing, Can't Let Go, Fantasy, My All, Crybaby, We Belong Together, Lead the Way, Underneath the Stars, And You Don't Remember, All In Your Mind, Never Forget You, Honey, You're So Cold, Butterfly, Never Too Far, Miss You Most At Christmas Time, Breakdown, Slipping Away, Heartbreaker, Through the Rain, Shake It Off, Touch My Body, Ribbon, Don't Forget About Us and Melt Away, Triumphant doesn't hold a candle.

Re: Triumphant (94,827) (94,835) by Bill from the UK
That's hard to believe. I doubt the record company would fund the music video, which was quite a spectacle, as well as hiring the two (count them, two) guest rappers for the song. Triumphant was originally the launch title for The Art of Letting Go. A Mariah Carey launch single is not paid from out of the petty cash tin. The moment radio, fans, and the general public ignored it (because it wasn't very good), it became a "buzz" single.

In reality, Mariah was more than likely ordered back into the studio to re-work the album into Me I Am Mariah. Had Triumphant hit number one, the album would have followed. Would we discount it from her tally of number ones, as it was only written for her ill husband? I think not.

Mariah is an artist like all others with hits and misses. I know, we're used to her usually being at the top end of the charts, so a flop single is particularly hard for some to come to terms with. But she is not infallible. Thankfully though her hits, currently, outweigh her missteps. You can't keep excusing these missteps as buzz singles, never intended to be a hit, etc. because it simply isn't true.

Re: Dreamteam (94,828) (94,829) by Bill from the UK
Please no. There's been enough WBT rehashes between 2005 and now to last a lifetime. Kick out JD from the studio and bring in someone fresh like Bruno Mars or the Smeezingtons.

Re: Divas Live 1998 (94,798) (94,800) by Bill from the UK
Ugh. It really annoys me when people excuse ropey performances with her being sick. She wasn't sick. Just stop. Mariah hasn't been suffering a permanent cold since 1997. The Divas performance was fine, for 1998.

Re: Divas Live 1998 (94,795) (94,796) by Bill from the UK
I think both the live performances included on the EP are great, for different reasons. In fact, I love pretty much every version of Make It Happen. Unplugged, Thanksgiving, MSG, Daydream, Divas, Butterfly etc.

MSG is brilliant and technically perfect, but VH1 has a lot more passion, force, and soul behind it. I'm glad the Divas performance is available, I think it's great.

Re: Can't Let Go live (94,771) (94,786) by Bill from the UK
You know it took me a long time to get into Can't Let Go. Partly because I felt it was a bit of a damp ending to Unplugged following the showstopper of I'll Be There, so I always used to skip it on that album. And with Emotions, I love Make It Happen so much I used to skip Can't Let Go to get to it quicker lol. But, as time has gone by, I have realised it is actually one of the best things she's ever done. The bridge is out of this world, the desperation in her voice when she sings "still you remain on my mind" and goes into the key change is brilliant. She's never really done anything like it sonically ever since. At the less said about Can't Say No the better.

Re: Emotions and Make It Happen HD (94,776) (94,785) by Bill from the UK
Yes I think they've updated the existing ones as the view count hasn't been reset or anything. They look great, shame she hasn't done it for the debut videos. I know she hates them but we all love them, especially Someday.

Re: Emotions live in TOTP (94,782) (94,784) by Bill from the UK
Yes I agree. I love the Unplugged album and I'll Be There dearly, but I always felt like Emotions had more mileage left in it. And You Don't Remember was planned as the fourth single, and would have sounded great on the radio. I really, really hope we get this Can You Hear Me track. The fact it is on a mastering tape (as per the pic MC teased) indicates it was recorded and finished, but for whatever reason didn't make it onto the album. Emotions is such a brilliant album, I play it all the time. Might go spin it now actually.
