Last album (40,293)
by Lainsky from Philippines
| |
|
|
Based on the interview with Andy Cohen, I guess it is more of hypothetical statement meaning if this will be her last album, she wants it to be the best or something she must have done sort of thing, which I guess more of a description of this new album so fear not guys. I do not think MC can simply rest and stop making music. It's her life! Or at least the most.

WWHL / Walter A. / last album (40,292)
by Licia from USA
| |
|
|
I think Mariah finally kind of put an end to the speculation about her and Walter A working together again. When she made the comment about having to give up 50% on AIWFCIY, you can see she clearly isn't over whatever happened between them. Maybe now people can stop asking. As for her last album comment, I don't think she's going to stop making music.I just think she irritated with IDJ, the politics of the recording industry, and how they have been handling this album, but if this were to be her last album I wouldn't be mad. She's given us 23 years worth of music. I'm cool with her stopping if she feels she needs to.

Last album or break? (40,291)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
I think Mariah is about to pull the plug on music for while after this new album is out. The problem is that the older she gets, the more they'll discriminate on her. Taking a break in her 40's is not necessarily a good idea in the music business, especially when these new pop acts are popping from left and right. I was watching her 2012 Morocco concert online, and it was painful to see. I don't personally think Mariah is in a good place vocally to handle a world tour. Her performance with Buble was great, but it is evident that it was dubbed. I wouldn't like to see the day people start walking out on her concerts, since all she got is her voice, and there's not way to mask that. I rather see she takes a break, concentrate on improving her voice, and then come back. Some of my friends say that she should've left after TEOM, on a high note.

Little known facts article (40,290)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
The article has so many errors. 1) Her fans don't call her lambily. That's stupid. She calls her fans/lambs her extended family or "lambily". 2) Patti LaBelle isn't really her godmother, she just calls her that out of respect and love. 3) DemBabies is her nickname for her twins. Technically the website is DemBabies.com. 3) Her mom was an opera singer, not a voice coach, she coached Mariah that's true, but professionally she was an opera singer. 5) Although it's not an error but just singling out "Butterfly" as the album where she wrote her own songs is a bit misleading. She has been writing songs from a very young age, and all her songs from her first record are written/co-written by her with the exception of the songs of other artists she covered and some tracks in which she was a featured artist.

Last album (40,289)
by R&B Junkie from Poland
| |
|
|
I guess she meant "last under the influence of The Island Def Jam" because of the way she talked - she was clearly annoyed about the singles policy. She has kids right now, she's been slowing down since they married. Remember, in the 90's we were given with her new album every year. That was crazy, now we can't have it that way, but it's OK since her private life is the most important thing. But she loves music so I don't believe she will ever quit recording. Lambs, let's talk about the quality right now, I think her plan is to release three solid albums in a decade or something. E=MC2 was a little bit forced to be done, but Memoirs and MCIIY were concept long plays. You can say you don't like them, but you cannot say that there were no great ideas put into the final product.

Last album? (40,288)
by Ken from USA
| |
|
|
I don't think TAOLG will be her last album, but I wouldn't be surprised if she began releasing albums less frequently then she did in the 00s. I think MC has got to a stage where she knows it doesn't matter if she isn't getting number ones all the time. She's realised its about making truly great music.

Last ever album? (40,287)
by Will from England
| |
|
|
I think she was speaking hypothetically about whether this could be potentially be her last album. Out of context, it does sound a bit of a "did she just say that?", but in context, in the way she was describing (what I thought was) how she was approaching this album in terms of how she wants it to be heard (a concept album in effect), then it would make sense. But if it isn't hypothetical, then I wouldn't blame her if this was her last for a while. She's got two kids to look after now, as she said, she has to look after them for life. If this really were to be her last album for a long time, I can appreciate how she really wants it to be right, and delaying the album, I can understand that.

I think it was hypothetically speaking, as in if anything was to happen to her and this was her last album she'd know it was the best she could have done.

MC (40,280)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

I enjoyed the WWHL interview of Mariah. Overall it was good and Mariah didn't go too off topic this time. The Eminem part was straight up hilarious. Her face when the question was asked was so cute. About her mixing up song names, maybe she didn't mix up? Maybe those were two separate sentences like "you don't follow up Obsessed with IWKWLI" and "Migrate should have been a single for 'that' album (as in E=MC2)". Because she was asked if she thought some of her single worthy songs weren't released or something. So yes even though it sounds like she mixed up her album names, maybe it's just the way she said it. Lastly, she says her album is coming soon, I really hope so. I need a full length album like real soon!

The interview was hilarious. I fell out when she answered that Eminem question. I find it ironic that people are on twitter saying she needed to be drunk. Any other time they are having a fit that she has a glass in her hand, but now it's ok. Anyway it was fun. I love Andy and Greg from the Jersey housewives.

Furious (40,277)
by Randy from USA

I am furious with MC. Now I admit, we have been very critical of MC, but does she even know her own catalogue? She said and I quote, "You don't follow up Obsessed with IWTKWLI. Migrate should have been a single from that album. They are not even on the same album!" I am so confused. How do we know her catalogue better than her? That's not me being petty. That's a glaring error.

Performances (40,274)
by 123 from USA
| |

|
A lot of folk on here were catching feelings about that DC performance talking about her voice is gone, over one bad performance. Lol. You know what I loved about that performance? It was live. No pre-recorded vocals in sight to sing the falsetto notes for her. It was an honest performance. So many of us, me included, were begging for her to give up the semi lipped performances for an honest performance and we got it. Does that mean she shouldn't be on her A game at all times? No. Will she be on her A game at all times? No. She worked that Buble special out and I love how she is incorporating those jazz/gospel/Kim Burrell runs now. So fluid. I want her to pull a Beyoncé and just drop the album. No single, no promotion, no prior warning. Just drop it with videos to go with each song and then promote the heck out of it. Why do I get the feeling MC is releasing a double album? One of ballads and another of Hip/Hop club cuts. Just saw a picture of her in the studio. Still? Interesting.

Mariah's latest interview (40,272)
by Alex from England
| |
|
|
While some fans will again say she was drunk or something was wrong with her because she made fun of Nick or rambled or what-not, Mariah did show her being annoyed with her record company at some point in the interview. What I'd like for some fans to realize is that Mariah doesn't get to decide what single is released, when the album is coming out etc etc. The people behind the curtain are the ones who decide so stop blaming Mariah for not releasing an album in over 4 years, we all know how prolific she is as a songwriter and there must be dozens of recorded unreleased songs. Now I can't wait to experience listening to a full album from her again!

New album and details (40,268)
by CMC from NY,NY

|
|
Mariah has to know how desperate we are for this album. Besides MCIIY we haven't had a full Mimi album since Memoirs! I was so hopeful during the time of Adele's breakthrough and Whitney's unfortunate passing and birth of dem babies we were going to get major inspiration and some killer tracks from Mimi. Will any of this possible work be on the album do you guys think? Will it even be current when she worked on some of it almost 4 years ago? I hope any good work doesn't get brushed under the rug. I do think The Art Of Letting Go album title should be "let go", it actually sounds tired now since we've been hearing it since early summer. A new title will definitely recreate some excitement. I would think Mariah and J.D. may figure that out as well. I'm hoping we will got some solid info on the new album with this Sunday's WWHL appearance. All the lambs should ask specific questions as to why such a delay. I'm looking forward to her interaction with Andy Cohen. P.S. Mariah still never confirmed TAOLG album title herself, anyway so hopefully the tired name will go. Sorry but it is.

Flawless performance, except her... (40,266)

Her performance in Michael Buble's special is flawless. Her voice is in perfect condition. The only thing that I think looks horrible is her dress on "Christimas Time Is In The Air Again" performance. I just feel those things need to be pushed up, not to make it sagging down low.
