I guess she maybe lost the will or the inspiration. The Christmas success is of course a blessing but comes with a price. Caution (102,096) by Edward from USA I was listening to Caution yesterday and I couldn't believe it's been almost five years since its release. One would think Mariah recorded a lot during the pandemic, so there should be enough material to at least release a solid EP. I do miss "The Voice". Sometimes I'm not sure if Marian wants to sing anymore. Most of her one-song projects in the past ten years have been lackluster, half-cooked. Her songs used to have legs of their own, but for a while now those legs are based on a hype that renders them crippled when you get to listen to them. Most cuts that didn't make it into her albums in the 90's are simply great. I'm not talking about her voice, but the artistry in her music. Butterfly was sung in her whisper register, but oh boy, those lyrics, the sentiment, the music, it didn't need an introduction. It's as if she were done with music but she's thrown into the spot light for a whole month every year and she has to act on it for financial reasons. I hopefully we get some quality music this year. I love Darlene's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)", but no one can deny the staying power of Mariah's "All I Want". Mariah and Dolly and Patti and other stuff (101,746) by Brad from USA I know they aren't necessarily an apparent pairing but I think for Christmas music season it would be neat to see Mariah pair up with Dolly Parton. To shift gears, have we heard anything about the collabo of MC and Patti on Patti's next album? To shift again, it's pretty nice to see Mariah doing her mogul activities at this time of year with so many ventures. I'm not the biggest fan of the alcohol/spirits lane she is in but I understand it can be lucrative. I didn't quite understand the Moet & Chandon performance, is this for her Angel champagne? The snippets I heard sounded like she was singing over a backing track but definitely a good portion of it was live. I also like the "little bus" she has been using to get around NYC. It seems so smart to me, she can do work with her team on her way to an event and also have her kids with her. Is this a particular kind of bus? It looks like a party bus but I'm sure its more sophisticated than that and hopefully environmentally responsible. She seems to be doing well and appears to be healthier and more fit. Who should play Mariah on her biopic series? (101,589) by bliss! from Brazil Mariah is seeking a lead actress to play her in a series inspired by her memoir "The Meaning of Mariah Carey". According to her, she doesn't care if the actress can sing, she just wants a talented actress. Do you guys have any suggestions? PS: I would also like to point out that the doppelganger who played her in the Lifetime movie (Mariah: The Diva, the Demons, the Drama) really looked like her and could be a body double or something lol. Not only the performance would be very good to expose her talent to new generations, she would also be the most amazing legend of the event with Mary J and Janet also. It would be an honor for the young artists there to talk about Mariah on the red carpet, see her, hear her live. As much as I hate to admit take a look at the photo from the shopping spree in Aspen where she is wearing the Burberry pants. That's her bad side. You can see her nose kinda looks different and so the teeth. What Mariah really needs to know is that all of us have bad angles.
