About Bill from the UK: I love Mariah more than you do.

London Daydream Tour Attendee.

Re: All In Your Mind blown (94,695) (94,699) by Bill from the UK
Wow. I don't know what to say. Mariah needs to release everything from this vault, please please please. That alternative take is incredible. How has this been locked away for 30 years?

Scroll on the Someday pic and TGTBAW shows up.

Debut remixes (94,688) by Bill from the UK
So whilst the debut remixes don't hold a candle to what would come later, I am very pleased to now have some 12" exclusives digitally. The Sample Dub Mix of TGTBAW was only ever released on vinyl before, and the dubs and the bonus beats being now digitally available for Someday is amazing. Being the completest and geek and perfectionist I am though, my only annoyances are these:

1. There another "Pianoapercaloopapella" released on the European maxi single which is about a minute longer that hasn't been included.
2. TGTBAW has mistitled the "Vocal Club Mix" as the "Vocal Dub Mix". The remix titling did get confusing for that release though, which some having "Alt" prefixed, even though they were the same as the remix without it.

But, to have these now available to stream and purchase as remix EPs is brilliant, and let's all pray she continues this for the other singles. There are some exceptionally rare or vinyl exclusives out there and The Remixes compilation did fall short in a lot of ways.

Please MC reach out to me to be your remix consultant lol.

Re: Nick (94,681) (94,686) by Bill from the UK
Really? I found the post incredibly conceited.

Re: New book (94,671) (94,672) by Bill from the UK
It would be hilarious if Mariah didn't even mention him at all in the book. Just to highlight how insignificant he was to her.

Check out this excellent fan remix of Always Be My Baby and Beautiful.

Re: Someday Live Debut (94,662) (94,664) by Bill from the UK
I really hope it is Emotions' turn and she puts out that Can You Hear Me track she teased on the video. An unused song from 1991. Wow. I will die.

Re: Someday Live Debut (94,648) (94,660) by Bill from the UK
It's actually quite endearing how much of a mess this performance is haha. Bless her. I still wish it had been included though for the lols, but get why it wasn't. I can't wait for this Friday, wishing my weeks away for the foreseeable future.

Re: Nick (94,643) (94,647) by Bill from the UK
I'm not sure how I feel about Nick now putting his location as heaven, saying he is leaving the planet, and goodbye earth etc. If he is genuinely suicidal then that is one thing, and I wish him all the help in the world against that struggle. If however he is belittling suicide by over dramatising for likes and sympathy, then that is probably as worse as his anti-Semitic comments.

Re: Undubbed Live Debut (94,634) (94,639) by Bill from the UK
It was dubbed, you can tell the differences in pitching when watching the DVD vs what MC just put out. Plus, the most obvious is the whistle on Don't Play That Song. But it's all good. I am glad she is breaking away from everything having to be 100% perfect. I can live with 99.9%.

Re: Undubbed Live Debut (94,630) (94,632) by Bill from the UK
I always found her undubbed vocals better. It's so much more real, like she's in the room with you. This is why I also loved St John the Divine so much because it is her "once through" singing voice. The weaker whistle on Don't Play That Song just proves she can genuinely hit those notes and like everybody she is human. The EP is beautiful, I can't stop playing it.

The Live Debut (94,628) by Bill from the UK
Wow, so we get a lovely HQ version of the Tatou Club performance (minus Someday). On Insta MC said how there will be remixes, b sides, live performances etc. I'm most excited about the b sides. If we get songs from the prime years (Can You Hear Me) I will be so, so happy.

Mariah's current look (94,611) by Bill from the UK
The pics MC has posted on Insta. The loose curls. The darker hair colour. The earth tone make up. This is the look I've always longed for. It complements her features so much.

Re: MC30 every Friday (94,599) (94,603) by Bill from the UK
Nice idea. I was never happy with the original Ballads compilation as Emotions the album wasn't represented at all, despite having some of her best ballads ever. And I'll be in the cold, cold ground before I recognise How Much as a ballad.

Re: MC30 every Friday (94,594) (94,600) by Bill from the UK
Agree that we need physical/digital versions of whatever is being celebrated so we can own and treasure them forever. Imagine if she does an album a week. This coming Friday, the debut with rarities, videos, remixes, etc. Next Friday Emotions gets its turn etc.

Re: MC30 every Friday (94,589) (94,592) by Bill from the UK
I watched the clip about twenty times and managed to get a screen grab of the handwritten page towards the end. It looks like a mastering sleeve, with the following:

1. I Can't Let Go
2. So Blessed
3. Can You Hear Me

Is track 3 a never-before-heard Emotions B side? Sweet Lord please, please, please let this be the case.

Re: Hopes for the memoir (94,579) (94,582) by Bill from the UK
Depends on your point of view as to whether she loses control of the narrative by being open about the vocal decline.

It could be the opportunity to gain control of the narrative. Never again will she have to walk onto the stage petrified of the technical difficulties, malfunctioning ear pieces, and people "foiling" her. She can walk up to the microphone, just as she did on the MTV Unplugged stage, and sing. She'll need to change the arrangements of the songs, but that's a chance to be creative again and put a new spin on them.

It's an opportunity to finally be free. And isn't that what she's always wanted?

Re: New album (94,574) (94,575) by Bill from the UK
A surprise album accompanying the memoir would be brilliant. Imagine if she had a song for each chapter that she could walk us through in the book as we listen.

Narrated by Mariah (94,571) by Bill from the UK
The audiobook on Amazon is narrated by Mariah. Excellent. I love her speaking voice as her inflections can be quite dry and dead pan. Might even get some acapoco moments.

The cover (94,566) by Bill from the UK
The cover for the album reminds me of the Daydream photoshoot. Hence my cropped avatar to try to get it aligned. Do y'all see the similarities too?

Re: Debut rarities (94,557) (94,564) by Bill from the UK
I really hope she picks up with the MC30 anniversary soon. I felt gutted she postponed rarities and surprises. I was hoping for a new vinyl release on 180g vinyl, a remastered digital version, the release of The First Vision on DVD/digital, and of course, the demo tape.

Re: Hopes for the memoir (94,556) (94,563) by Bill from the UK
Well she can mention all the people in-between if she must, but those I mentioned she was either married to, engaged to, or with for a significant period of time.

Hopes for the memoir (94,554) by Bill from the UK
I know the memoir is wrapped up, packed up, ribbon wid a bow on it, but here are my hopes for what she talks about.

* Her musicality first and foremost. Discovering her gift, the nurturing of it by her mother, singing with those old jazz musicians as a child and learning her craft. I really hope she goes into detail about her songwriting process and what she puts into each song. I would love the memoir to contain scans of her song books with lyric ideas and song structures etc. Who she enjoys working with, and chapters for Gavin Christopher (pre game), Ben M and Walter A and Jermaine D as they are her most significant writing partners.

* The childhood. The struggles, the divorce, Alison and Morgan then and now, school life, moving to Manhattan to seek her fortune and living with Josephine and waitressing etc. And then the truth about what really happened at "that party" where Tommy heard the demo tape. Was it all a publicity spin, as she was already bring courted by another label etc.

* Tommy, Luis, Nick, James and Brian as her significant partners should be covered in depth, and some light shedding around the whole Derek Jeter sitch, and whether she had an affair etc. would be good to know.

* Motherhood and how this has changed her views, her pace, her determination, her priorities etc.

* Songs that are, will be, or never were. A deep dive into songs that never saw the light of day and why. The Lauryn Hill collab, the Prince duet, Reach for the Sky. Also come clean about songs that are about people (Eminem, Damizza etc.).

* Glitter and the bipolar diagnosis, warts and all.

* The nightmare era and how and why she allowed her to effectively ruin and permanently damage her image, brand, and public persona she spent years building up.

* The voice and its deterioration. Acknowledgement that her own life choices have affected it, and that she has accepted that and has made her choice, and is comfortable with it. End the smoke and mirrors and press forward singing with your real, unfiltered and engineered voice. We will always love it, no matter how it sounds, because we love her.

And that's probably it. If however it's a compilation of her sound bites and press releases since 1990, I'll be pissed.

Re: The meaning of Mariah Carey (94,518) (94,521) by Bill from the UK
Great title. I loved "I Had a Vision of Love" as well, but this is much better.
