Yes, I agree. Along the way people kind of left Mariah either because they were not a fan of her current music or they couldn't relate to her anymore. People stopped "liking" her when she started becoming over dramatic. She always said the diva act was a joke and she was playing with it but I felt like at one point the diva image overtook the Mariah everyone knows and loved. Her attitude during this tour has been humble and understated, which is why people are responding well to her. No unnecessary bodysuits, no awkward moves, no shirtless guys, no gimmicks. Just Mariah, her mic, her band and back up singers. While fans understand that she has always been kind and sweet, the GP doesn't see her like that, and whatever is left of her fan base won't get her a hit unless the GP can connect with her. That combined with good promo of course. But first and foremost she needs to work on her image (and this is a good way), because her image has been at an all time low for the past few years. So I'm glad she seems to have started taking note. I hope she continues with this.

Absolutely love that so far whatever we heard about the tour was nice and positive, especially about Mariah. From the articles to the twitter reactions (to the video footage) and the audience reaction. Mariah did a great move by just focusing everything on her voice and her music instead of added drama, dancers, diva act and ridiculous outfits. This is why people are responding to her well. I'm glad she's getting a lot of love from the people who also represent the GP and not necessarily strictly her fan base. This shows if she shows her humble side more and lets her talent shine instead of hiding behind unnecessary drama and diva antics, people will learn to love her again. Keep up the good work Mimi, and keep winning them all back.

It's probably not that she stopped using fillers, it's more like the fillers finally settled in. I think when you get the fillers, the face stays a little puffed up and it takes a few days for it to set in. This has happened with Mariah before too. Right after she gets it done, the face is a little bigger then it goes back to being her normal shape.

Also maybe hanging out with Lionel will help her get a different perspective of life with fame. As in to be more low key and enjoy her personal life away from the public eye.

I'd honestly take any answer than her not being happy. I want nothing but the best for her. So I hope it was because she was feeling overwhelmed with the love and appreciation and not because she feels lonely and upset over something. What got me thinking was how this happened at 2 unexpected concerts and not her usual ones. The red dress was great. Flattering and red is always her color. She looked good and angelic (even in red haha). So the set list was something like: Heartbreaker / Love Hangover Shake It Off Touch My Body IKWYW feat. Crying on stage (77,378)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
So Mariah was tearing up a little on stage during the ATH tour with Lionel. This is the second time we heard about her crying onstage in a matter of weeks, right? Or were there more instances? She was tearing up and saying "you guys make me feel so loved". I honestly am worried about her because she usually doesn't do this. She's used to fans cheering on and calling her name. I just feel sad, because it looks like she's really not in a good place right now personally. I mean the crying, then the other day just not caring to even bother dancing to the routine and all. She seems so resigned. I hope she is doing well.

Haha I just noticed the necklace, I'll honestly take this over the Packer necklace which she wears with all the wrong outfits. Also I just noticed Mariah's hands. As in the way they are holding hands (or not) because her hands are rolled up in fists and Bryan seems to be forcing his fingers in haha. They always look so weird doing these.

The real versus fake pictures are stupid because the "bad" picture is actually real and it wasn't edited. I'm sure because it matches completely with the videos of her from that angle. Now one thing is true is that the angle indeed was bad, because it's taken from below and the side, but what makes it look bad is her outfit choice. Any other flattering outfit would have done a lot of good. I just shared a photo and she looks really good there, because she's wearing flattering clothes. Her weight isn't the issue, the issue is she doesn't have a good team who'll tell her what works and what doesn't. She needs Andre Leon to really give her the truth. Because Stella herself has a bad taste in fashion and secondly she wouldn't do anything that gets her fired.

I saw another one, here is the link. It's "when you're at work and the manager is watching you vs when he walks away" meme comparing her previous "Honey" routine and the failed one.

Terna, I appreciate that you see the good in bad situations but seriously? You really believe this is a plan? Come on now. It's very likely a "new" Mariah will indeed emerge in a few months, but that won't be because "this was planned to stage a comeback". It will probably (and Lord I pray it happens) because the bubble she's put herself in has burst, she finally realized what a mess her career has been for a while now and finally decided to take the right steps (hire a professional team, a good PR personnel, a smart manager, a vocal coach, a stylist). As for her weight, either ways, if she has a album coming out, she'll lose her weight before that because she does it before big promotions, it's nothing new. So no, while it is very likely possible that she'll have a career comeback, she'll drop weight and she'll slay her performances, it won't be because all these (the mess and the fails) have been due to some master plan, it will only be because Mariah will finally wake up.

That photo is probably from her last run at Vegas, not this one. Because the hair and all is different. I mean it is likely from one of the shows from 2016. I think another version of the photo minus Bryan was used for one of her concert promos.

Nah team Mariah has never been one to have a major strategy in place in years now. And now especially with Stella running the show, it's even more messy. Mariah is probably just tired of doing shows and tired in general but they already booked her into these so she's going through it. If anything ever since NYE fail (and no I'm not blaming her completely, I'm just saying it was a disaster), all her focus should have been on highlighting her vocals, showing people she can still sing. And it's not like she didn't have good performances since then, but they weren't always steady. So on top of that, if she continues putting in lack lustre performances, it will damage her image further.

I don't have a subject (77,318)

So I know this photo is already attached to the article Eric posted but I just wanted to say that she looks so beautiful here. Every bit the diva and superstar that she is. Her hair looks gorgeous as well. She looks like she's the same age as Bryan here. I honestly would have been cool with Bryan and Mariah actually dating had I not had to endure the mess that was Mariah's World and not known what a leech Bryan is. I mean the guy is cute and I can understand that they might flirt and have feelings for each other but since this whole "relationship" was launched as a publicity tool for MW and then when you thought it couldn't get worse, you actually were show terribly scripted scenes on MW, one can't stop but cringe. Anyways, just wanted to say Mariah looks like a Barbie in this particular photo.

Ya I don't care what size Mariah is, the only issue is she doesn't dress right. Also I don't really get why she always wears bodysuits nowadays since it's not like she's breaking into an intense choreography. I get wearing one for "Honey" because that's paying homage to the video. I also loved her first SSFT bodysuit (not the second one which looked like a bejeweled swimsuit) but nowadays it's like all her stage clothes are bodysuits. In this Vegas leg alone I think she had 4 bodysuits (the "Honey" pink one, the nude gold, the bejeweled one with the skirt and the red on with those long string like things). She can wear cute flirty mini dresses, or pant suits or anything but I honestly don't get the point of bodysuits anymore especially now that she doesn't even move much. Get a stylist Mariah. Stop letting Mishka dress you.

Re: Searching for Neverland (77,285) (77,286)

Everytime I hear that Michael was killed (which we always knew) so these fools could cash in on it, it just hurts and angers me more and more. I mean this was always suspected but with the evidence, it just makes it more real and it pisses me off so much because this man did not deserve this. He deserved to live a long happy life, with his beautiful children and possibly away from the spotlight, if that's even possible for a man at the level of fame that he was on. Such a kind, generous man, who gave his all to bring entertainment in to the lives of millions around the world, for multiple decades. This is why I get frustrated with Mariah too because I see parallels, I feel like she trusts the wrong people like Michael did. She has isolated herself like Michael did and she only has her babies, who are too young to know better. She also seems over worked now (people can laugh all they want at the "Honey" video that went viral recently but she just looks resigned and tired to me). She has been booked on stuff below her status. I just hope she gets out of this, takes some time off with her babies and if she feels later that she wants to continue with show business then do so, or just live your life away from the spotlight, no need to please anyone.

Features or not if an artist is credited on a song, and the song goes to #1, it will be counted as their #1. So Rihanna for now has a total of 14 #1's. Like in Mariah's case, "Heartbreaker" counts as a #1 for both Mariah and Jay-Z, "OSD" will count for both Mariah and Boyz II Men.

"Searching For Neverland" was pretty good and I agree, they kept the shock factor completely away and instead focused on showing the real Michael, something his friends and family always describe him as but the GP didn't know. They show the real person that Michael was instead of the larger than life persona, which was nice.

Re: Mariah Carey drama series based on her life (77,277) (77,278)

Even though Brett is responsible for bringing 2 different dramas (Stella and Packer) in Mariah's life, he still has experience in his field and has a decent repuatation doing A list movies and work. The same can't be said about Stella but I'm guessing Stella won't really have much of role except to get her name in for no reason. At least that's what I'm hoping because if left to her, Mishka will play a young Mimi. And Sasha a younger Mimi. I'm not too worried about Brett, he is experienced. Also I hear "Starz" is a very reputable network and wouldn't approve any messy projects. Now I just need Mariah to try not to be too dramatic with the story. What I'm pretty sure of is though that this probably won't be an autobiographical series. It'll probably just be loosely based, but I hope the cheesiness is kept to a minimum and same for the added drama.

Article: Diva Mariah Carey can barely muster energy to move (77,270)

I was hoping it's going to stay in "The Shade Room" because not many people are subscribed to that, as in not many people I personally know. But it has made it's way into "9Gag" and everyone I know is subscribed to that page so now there's no stopping this video. On "9Gag" it's labelled "me doing the absolute bare minimum at work". I'm done.
