Mariah in Nigeria (40,235) by Terna from Nigeria
Mariah Carey the voice is in my country Nigeria. Wow, I don't even know how to react. Lol seriously, this is an honour. I feel so proud. News of her arrival is all over the news.

Re: Lamby from HongKong (40,130) by Terna from Nigeria
Your post really struck a chord with me, kinda mirroring everything I have been feeling about her latetly. I've been a lamb since I was in my early teens and the Mariah I fell in love with is just not the one I see today. I'm losing faith in her talent and interest also. Something indeed changed her, maybe Tommy Mottola. But I also agree "he was a great filter". I recall he was even the one who encouraged her to keep "Hero" for herself. A song that can now be considered her signature song, and with Tommy still in the picture, such crap like "Triumphant" where you're featured on your own song never saw the light of day. He may have been controlling, but that man knew his job.

Licia, Jeremy, Mariah's voice (40,100) by Terna from Nigeria
It's [...] Licia and yes I was reffering to the Rockerfeller performance. To me those performances are also strained. I didn't even bother with the tree lighting performance after watching the former. Jeremy, you have a point. It could've also been as a result of the cold in the case of the later, but then again there's the bubbly issue. I wish she would just give up the alchohol altogether. It's wrecked her voice, especially the tone, quality and ease of singing. Mariah has too many yes people around her who are to scared to tell her: Hey Mariah slow down on the bubbly or better yet put it away. Even Nick Cannon apparently. Sorry guys, it may seem like I'm venting, but it's because I care. I'm [...] worried and not only about her voice, but her health too.

Rockefeller tree lighting performance (40,085) by Terna from Nigeria
I'm so upset right now. Are we listening to the same performance here? Mariah really struggles on both songs she performed. She sounded arid, really hoarse and just all over the place and latetly it seems switching into the high notes is kinda a saver of a totally horrendous performance which is what this was. If this is the way she's sounding now makes me wonder what kinda vocals are gonna be on the album.

Mariah Carey and TAOLG (39,977) by Terna from Nigeria
[...] I deduce that this song is about Tommy. She talked about a certain emotion being strong and present on the track when she was interviewed on CNN. Well, its definitely [...] I sense as I listen, [...] too. It's just as [...] as the whole Memoirs album was. Tommy must've hurt her real bad for her to still be dwelling on it after all this time. She even seems different now. That carefree spirit she had kinda like a child is not really there anymore, she even said so herself something about the Industry.

The Art of Letting Go (39,716) by Terna from Nigeria
It is stunning, from the melody, to her vocal performance and the old school production, just wow. And that climax is everything, only Mariah has the ability to make you feel the music deep down.

TAOLG cover picture (39,580) by Terna from Nigeria
Now that's what I call #Beautiful. Exactly 2 more weeks to go guys. Notice how "The Art of Letting Go" is written in her own handwriting, a first I think, not sure though.

Mariah's signature song (39,402) by Terna from Nigeria
In my opinion, is "Hero". It's also the song she's performed the most and most people that don't necessarily like or even know her just automatically know that song almost as if it's a good old regular hymn sung in church. Quite baffling too. If that's not the definition of an evergreen, I don't what is.

Worth the wait (39,353) by Terna from Nigeria
It's Mariah Carey we're talking about here guys. It's always worth the wait when Mariah sorta disappears from the public eye working on new music, forgotten The Emancipation Of Mimi already? Chill, she knows what she is doing. I have 100% faith in her. She's gonna bring it like never before. Major amunition as Bryant said. Lol.

Mariah Carey's vocal style and influence (39,329) by Terna from Nigeria
Ariana Grande, Tynisha Keli and Tori Kelly, though the latter two not that well known yet, are a clearcut example of just how much Mariah's singing and vocal style has heavily influenced the younger generation. Tynisha's "I Wish You Loved Me" and Tori's "Dear No One" have Mariah written all over them. I was pleasantly suprised. From the songs' arrangements to the vocal layering and background vocals, listening to them is definately a throwback to a classic Mariah Carey track. Wish you guys check them out and tell me what you think. Though i should fore warn you that they aren't big voiced singers like Mariah though, she's one of a kind in that department. Lol.

Music Box (39,166) by Terna from Nigeria
It felt good to see Billboard acknowledge this masterpiece from Mariah. I have been playing it a lot too lately. Though I disagree with their review of "Never forget You", it's actually a standout track in my opinion and one of her best vocals. Babyface and Mariah make magic.

Special K, Erica, Joachim (39,160) by Terna from Nigeria
Special K, for real? I didn't know that was your jam off TEOM, I still don't like it though lol. Erica, could that be "MTV Presents Mariah Carey"? I recall she sang songs from Charmbracelet wearing a black gown and a jacket at some point, "Through the rain" was flawless I might add. I hope that helps. Joachim, I beg to differ. "Vision of love" is Mariah's Magna Carta. The song is in a league of its own, though I now get where you're coming from about skipping it lol. I do love that song, though it speaks volumes to me everytime I hear it. "Without you" and the "Other hand" are just ok songs to me, but I love the live versions at Proctor's Theatre much more than the studio version.

Did you just say you skip "Vision of Love"?

Skipped songs (39,145) by Terna from Nigeria
That horrendous "To The Floor" song off TEOM. (What was she thinking? I can actually count the number of times i've played it. lol.) And the whole E=MC2 album with the exception of "Touch my body", "I wish you well", "Last kiss", "I'll be loving you long time" and "Bye bye". Funny enough I agree with Chase on the feeling of hapharzardness you get with both Rainbow and E=MC2, like they were rushed and just throw together with a lot of fillers, but Rainbow fairs much better than E=MC2 which in my opinion is Mariah's weakest offering so far.

Shoulder injury (38,622) by Terna from Nigeria
I just saw it now on Facebook. So sorry Mimi, thank God you're safe and recovering get well soon. Lots of love.

Fave unreleased song (38,602) by Terna from Nigeria
"Slipping Away" without a doubt. It was sheer bliss when I discovered the track in the summer of 2001, admist all that noise about her so called breakdown. I still play it often, even today.

Re Chica, Ribbon B, 4th of July video (38,601) by Terna from Nigeria
I call it as I see it. When you talk of Mariah Carey, it's her voice first and foremost, before any other secondary aspect about her, like her songwriting and production. I'm guessing you have seen the very recent Independence Day celebration clip? Lol. Nobody's saying she's an alcoholic, but when you have a voice as she does, that's basically an instrument; in which you've built an entire career and brand off on, it would be wise to take care of it, or don't you think? And that does not include drinking alcohol of any sort as regularly as she does. Also health wise, it's not the best.

Her voice (38,565) by Terna from Nigeria
It's a case of neglect, nothing more. There are a few factors: The champagne (I think Eminem was right, our songbird has a vice). She doesn't always warmup, either hence the cracking and "all over the place" registers. When she does do it right, cutting down the champagne, warmups and breathing exercises, you get that full sonorous sound ala "Almost Home". But most damaging is definitely the champagne. Remember how at the end of Wise Girls she had to be appeased with a gift by the other two actresses? Now what was that gift again? That I bet wasn't part of the script. Lol.

Re: Stacey (38,529) by Terna from Nigeria
What Grammy performance are you talking about? The 2006 one where she did We Belong Together and segued into Fly Like A Bird? That was 100 percent live. I suggest you watch it again. Her adlibs are even different on the Grammy performance and more raw. So Mariah lips, big deal. All the others do it too. It's not the end of the world. I'd rather see she does it once in awhile instead of singing live every single time. As a singer you save your voice and use it only when necessary, that's your primary instrument.

#Beautiful Remix (38,404) by Terna from Nigeria
One word: #horrid. Was this even previewed before being released? I don't think this is official. Is it? If it is, then I think there's a problem.

WBT on GMA (38,054) by Terna from Nigeria
The final big note was indeed big and that look afterwards priceless. I loved how she giggled after the soft falsetto coo just before the remix came in lol. She's suddenly so youthful, vibrant and full of life again, the best she's ever looked. I am one proud fan right now.

#Beautiful (37,745) by Terna from Nigeria
Very infectious and memorable song. The beat, vocals and harmonies are on point. I love it. I also get where that reviewer who cited Dreamlover was coming from. It sounds retro and kinda like the Stax recordings of the '70's production wise. I think Mariah's got a hit on her hands. I listened to it only once, went through the day to see if I could recall its hook with just one listen, lets just say I hummed the song all day. Lol. I think the hashtag's cool and kinda also innovative in terms of using Twitter to promote it. That made the song trend worldwide in just a few hours. Somone here referred to the duo as "Mimiguel". Lol. That made me crack up.

WBT March 29th release (37,505) by Terna from Nigeria
Ok, just a shoutout to Mariah, also to acknowledge the anniversary of this masterpiece. This marked the end of bad times for her and also for us, her lambs. Even nature seemed to acknowledge the release, because exactly a year later on this same day there was a worldwide solar eclipse lol. Always made me wonder, did Mariah's voice cause that? Lol. Enjoy your day everyone.
