Re: The video (83,793) (83,797) by MusicfanJ from Germany There is nothing more boring than a "I'm so sexy" video. The videos in the 80ies and 90ies were a pleasure to watch. Still almost every video from that time is better than today's "videos". Yes, I know those times are gone. Don't get me wrong I love a glamorous video like "I still believe". The MM tribute was such a cool idea. And the "army outfit", just wow. Or the black and white video from "Can't let go", classy and more than beautiful without showing too much. I even like "I don't" more than this song. It sounds so mainstream, not like a Mariah song. Congratulations for the number one, but a number one doesn't make a good song. A lot of Mariah's best songs weren't even released or are just b-singles. (Friday 14 September 2018; 21:06)

If the song goes to number one in the US charts, MC and her team will be happy commercially. It may sound "modern", that's why I'm not so into it. Maybe it will grew on me. GTFO sounds like a title for a teenager or a very young twen who is just starting in music biz. The funny thing is when Mariah started, her titles were perfect and never childish. For me she's a Disney kid that knows who to copy and how to follow trends. Is there any grown-up who would listen to her music? She's definitely a beauty, and her voice is at best ok. But that's it. Jennifer Hudson is a real singer. She's great. I was listening to Aretha today. That was music from the heart, love every song of her. Not many great artists are left on earth. I can imagine that too. I still think it was just for protection once, but now I would love to see more of Mariah. I'm sure she's interesting enough without playing a "role". Mariah's behavior with the diva image may be hated by most of the people but musically she's respected because of her 90ies legendary albums and singles for all time. There will never be another artist like Mariah. Even if she releases another "Infinity" or "I don't". To compare Mariah with J.Lo is impossible. J.Lo was perfect as the background-dancer for the Janet Jackson. She's beautiful and can dance, but her voice is a joke. If she wasn't pretty and clever in businesses no one would know her. Even if the whole world would "follow" her on the internet, she will never ever be a true artist. Just a performer. (Friday 24 August 2018; 22:25)

The same with "Make it look good". "Beautiful" and "Dedicated" are so much fun to listen to. "The art of letting go" is like a good wine. It needs time to get better. The song didn't connect with me when the cd came out. Now I love it more and more. Somehow it's like a combination from the "old" and "new" Mariah. One of my favorites from the album. I had a happy youth, we could go out at night without worries. Those days are gone. Some areas are a no-go. Now we have some certain groups in our city that causes big problems. They are not willing to share our culture. And thousands of people who can't get watched by the police all the time. The one who say it has nothing to with are wrong. Every day we have this topic in our news, but you never hear something of Buddhists, Hindu or any other culture/religion. That says a lot. (Monday 11 June 2018; 10:55)

VOL is still unrivalled, she was showing all her talent and I often get goosebumbs just by the intro, Hero is a Mariah anthem and Fantasy was the song which made me a fan. Least Favorite: Touch My Body. I was surprised that it went to number one when it was released. The video is really funny, but the lyrics are cheesy indeed. (Saturday 2 June 2018; 16:33)

Re: One song discussion with MC (82,611) (82,614) by MusicfanJ from Germany I also like "Bliss". Such a relaxed, romantic sexy tune. "X-Girlfriend" is ok. It sounds dated, but in 99 it had this popular sound like most the songs had from Destiny's Child. The Rodney Jerkins sound, who produced it. Infinity is the only song from Mariah which I haven't on any playlist, cd or download. Even "I don't" grew on me and gets played from time to time. (Saturday 2 June 2018; 16:14)
