And as crazy as it sounds people are now saying Mariah and Sabrina are competing for the song of the summer. It's crazy because who would have thought at this point in her career Mariah would be competing with the newest breakout star. Now don't get me wrong I'm not delusional, Sabrina is killing it on streaming and will probably end up winning by a large margin, because she has a huge label push behind her, her Spotify deal and huge fan base coming from Taylor Swift fans too. But it's so good to see MC still being talked about as a main competition and not just a legacy artist. I'm liking how gamma is handling her as a star and not a legacy artist. I think it's very ambitious to put it out in the world that she's coming for The Beatles' wigs (kidding hahah). So I am keeping hope that it'll be a good era. Music video drops this week, which hopefully will make the song chart higher the following week. Video cameos including Mr beast, drops next week, which should push the video even higher. Who knows, it's just a guess, maybe maybe they are playing the long game, slow burner here. We have to remember that in today's musical landscape, younger audiences play the biggest part, and unless it's Christmas related, Mariah isn't just going to shoot to the top anymore on the charts. My thoughts and 2 cents. - The video seems to be a mix between ILT, Boy and Slave For You. - I think Mariah looked absolutely stunning in every shot, my favourite being her "Britney" look with the black smokey eyes and the Mr. Beast scene where she looked like she's straight out of TEOM era. I love the risks she took with her looks including the red lip. She looked stunning in the silver bedazzled look to but that's her usual look. - I thought JK said the video was longer than we think? But it wasn't. Or did he mean that we'll keep pausing on the boys haha. - First high budget video after a while but I think it lacked a strong storyline or I missed it. I like the different "acts" being different men but I wish there was some context and dialogues like Honey/Heartbreaker. The CGI was a bit too much for me especially the diamond one in the first act lol. I was hoping for something more like "Boy is mine" video from Ariana. - I heard there are more cameos other than Mr Beast. Which is smart to introduce her to new audience. I hope their contracts have requirements for them to post over the next few days. I'm dead at the "I don't know him". - Why were the all laying on the floor in pain? - Why was she so stiff in the first act? I get being nervous on stage but she literally had full control here. That is another one of MC's past mistakes releasing her last two albums without a hit song. Hopefully, Type Dangerous will rise on the charts with streams and radio airplay because of the release of the music video, but ageism is kind of hindering MC right now. Sabrina Carpenter and Ed Sheeran already have two of the most anticipated albums for the latter part of the summer. Currently, Type Dangerous is number #22 on the iTunes chart. Next single (109,243) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I know it's premature to talk about this but I have been hearing rumours that the next single is going to be a ballad type duet with Anderson .Paak. There are a few reasons I don't think that's a good idea. - It's the TEOM cloning all over again which tanked E=MC2 and her future releases for trying to do the same format. I think her next single should still be another uptempo song. A fresh new sound like T-Dang. It's summer so let it be fun and something people can enjoy and feel uplifted. Some catchy lyrics, a strong chorus (Sabrina Carpenter dominated summer with her clever lyrics and choruses, the "I'm working late cos I'm a singer" or the catchy chorus of Espresso, or the digs in "Taste" and "Please Please Please" to name a few). So I think her next single should be uptempo and catchy. The general public is seemingly responding well to T-Dang not just lambs which is new and we need the GP to get success. - I honestly think if she is releasing any collaborations as singles it should be high impact and high profile collaborators that can benefit her on the charts if she really wants those #1's stacking up. Also she is possibly in a relation with him and I think it'll be sweeter to keep it as an album track than an official single. Those are my thoughts and 2 cents. (Thursday 12 June 2025; 16:24)

I want y'all to chime in and drop what you think it is? So many possibilities. At this point I think this will be a 2 part video or at least a video that has interwoven storylines like Honey/Heartbreaker because it says "a film by Joseph Kahn" so I don't think that's earth shattering because both have been done by her before (it is however very exciting if she does do one of the 2). Below are some of my guesses: 1) One of the Kardashians is involved. 2) Mariah gets her previous MV men to come back. 3) She gets her exes to make a cameo hahah this will be hilarious. 4) Taylor Swift? Because of the Joseph Kahn mutual friend situation. Now that would be earth shattering but I doubt it. 5) Miss RiRi on the remix? She looked absolutely breathtakingly stunning and every bit the mega star she is clad in that gorgeous gold mini dress fit for the music industry's golden girl. I liked that she was more playful with the performance, I do wish she wore more comfortable shoes so that she had the confidence to strut around by herself and strut onto the stage during the opening of the song it would have made it more fierce but I see her trying and I'll take it. I absolutely loved her second look too, she looked so angelic and pure and her speech was amazing. The little humor, her embracing her diva and extraness. This is a new Mariah era not just album wise but personally too. I also hear her team discounted the song right after BETs a smart move. I'm liking how her team is handling her so far.
