About May from Denmark: Following MC music since day 1.

Re: Mariah and R&B (74,461) (74,465) by May from Denmark
Mariah needs to duet with Ed Sheeran. There, I said it. I think his music is utterly boring and so his voice as well, but I believe together both could do a good ballad, a real good one.

Re: New collaborators / berhana (74,463) (74,464) by May from Denmark
This is how most people see and conclude, you aren't wrong. I always saw Mariah as the Joan Crawford of music, always wanting males as duets and not other female ones that were popular and the only ones she accepts are rappers. I was so blown that day she did the duet with Whitney because I didn't think Mariah would accept to duet with someone beautiful, young and with a powerful voice as hers. Amazingly, while that song is good and has two big weights of the music industry vocal wise, is not one of my favorite songs and probably one of those that I listen to the least. Weird, I know. The duets she chooses with non-rapper females are never for her albums, they are for live versions and are generally older. The Mary J. Blige collaboration was a let down and not a real duet. Why can't she just join Beyonce? Wouldn't it be crazy also if she stepped down from songwriting for a bit and sang someone's else music, would be too weird for her to sing a Sia song? Just think she needs some freshness. I love her voice but her penning seems to be stuck in RnB old school mode. I want something different. Even her first album has a lot of things that seem odd even for these days, like electric guitars. I feel she uses too much formula, playing it too safe. I liked I Don't, better than Infinity by miles but at the same time it felt dated. Need something different, something we wouldn't expect from her, that's why Emancipation was such an incredible hit I believe, it was different.

Re: Where is Mariah? (74,230) (74,243) by May from Denmark
Well, didn't lots of fans wanted her to go away? Guess they got what they wanted. I actually was happy with her being in the spot all the time, not all articles were negative.

Re: Ridiculously bad videos (74,197) (74,242) by May from Denmark
Her videos have been going downhill since before that. "HateU" was so terrible and it made me feel so dissapointed when I saw it the first time because the song was amazing, a beautiful melody and great lyrics. Then "Angels Cry" was terribly boring, another chance at a great video thrown away. Even "#Beautiful" was boring, I feel that the color tone and the lighting saved that one from going to the bin, the memorable chandeliers scene and Mariah spinning in the yellow dress is all I got from it. Truly "I don't" takes the award for badness masterpiece. The only two scenes I liked were her in the wedding gown flipping the bird and the one with the red dress burning it to the ground, the rest was cringeworthy and trying way too hard, she still looked very pretty. She needs a professional director capable of screen writing and scripting, Brett has been slacking big time.

Stella did. And not surprisingly they spent Mimi's anniversary together.

Re: I Don't no-mix (73,930) (73,940) by May from Denmark
I thought it was like a fresh demo or wip when I listened to it the first time. Is it really the final version? What's happening with the quality, it's embarrassing.

Re: Ed Sheeran Shape of You (73,835) (73,849) by May from Denmark
I will be honest and probably I will be thrown some tomatoes over here haha, but I find his music to be incredibly, utterly boring. I swear I tried to like him, I listened to a bunch and I couldn't get into a single one of them. I don't understand what's the appeal, is it the lyrics? I find some of his lyrics to be like a storytelling which was nice but I can't get past that when everything sounds so bleak. Then I think to myself, if his music is so simple and the guy himself looks like an every other day guy that you can find at a supermarket, how come Mariah or some others can't actually put anything out there that people might like? Is it really the age? Why Ed doesn't have to wear a catsuit but all other female singers currenntly do.

Re: All I Want for Christmas Is (73,845) (73,848) by May from Denmark
Universal Studios animated films are all incredibly successful and their animations are really amazing, some of the animators and concept artists that have worked for Universal have worked for Pixar too. I believe her animated movie will be great just because of this, something tells me it might even have a lot of humor in it. The only thing that makes me doubt it will be a major hit is that it will be direct for DVD and not big screen, which is a shame, she is the queen of Christmas after all, surely she could promote the movie just on this alone.

Re: March is almost over (73,720) (73,735) by May from Denmark
I don't find it strange anymore that when they announce new music two things follow, a rush in the date and no promo/buzz. Someone will come out and say "single next week", then we get a fancy sexy picture and suddenly the one week anticipated single with a one live (if lucky) performance. Then see the buzz slowly dying a week after. Why this strange pattern, I don't know. They said the song was going to be available at the end of this month, it's the 17th already and not a peep. She had a good chance with "I don't" to push higher but she missed the chance or didn't care to chart or it was just as distraction from the NYE fiasco, which worked, no one talked about it anymore, only about her outfits in the video and why was the rapper wearing blue. All we know 100% is that she doesn't want to do an album just yet.

Re: Can I say something? (73,484) (73,555) by May from Denmark
The fault is not of the kids but the parents. Teens would walk on anyone if not set limits. And Mariah kids are 5 years old, the age that needs free play but also structure and routines, which these little ones have none. The dancer talked about the kids because that's what she saw but I feel no surprise she didn't mention anything about Stella or Mariah, none of them got up to stop the kids or to tell the teen she was doing wrong. Yes, some kids love to run at restaurants or get up 1000 times from the chair but you would also see their parents trying to do the effort of sit them down, talk to them and set them limits, there are a plethora of things you can do to keep a child sat down and in the end, every parent knows, if the kids don't behave, you just leave and go back home. Might seem a punishment for all, adults included, but at the end of the day the kids get it, unless they learn manners they can't be taken to places and trust me they learn quick. Mariah's kids are almost 6 which means they will understand consequences by then. Maybe Mariah is too lax because Stella is that way. I don't think people are being too judgemental here (some are, yes) but most have just pointed and observed an ongoing pattern in all the kids that are in this circus. Maybe the drinks are blurring the lines for these women. And wow, I've been gone for too long, so nice reading the board again, gave me great laughs some of the posts. I conclude this with a vision, a vision of trainwreck.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey slotted in a fitting with this designer (73,000) (73,006) by May from Denmark
She looks lovely. I bet she will go with the elegant gowns now for this festival. Anyone knows what exactly she will sing by the way? Wished she did vocal rest, laid the alcohol and sang something out of the blue just to surprise us like The Wind. Don't think that will ever happen.

Well, Kendall and Kyle neither, they were forced by their pimp mom and the media haha. But the stories sure seem to relate.

Re: Stella's new IG pic (72,995) (73,002) by May from Denmark
The thing is that CPS can't really do anything because the children look healthy, happy, dress appropriately, don't look beaten, etc. and no one has done a formal complaint in order to start an investigation. Can't really point fingers and say ah when there's only a pic of a 13 years old holding a bottle (which doesn't imply she is drinking), going to a weed store where it is legal (and again can't imply she is doing drugs just because adults purchase), there is only one video with her having a drink in the hand and playing the fool falling over (playing and pretending isn't the same as actually being drunk, cam it be proved?). I'm not defending or arguing against it, just saying the reasons why nothing is happening and the father doesn't seem concerned, which brings the other point, what if the father is not a good father/person and it is why he is never in the picture. I have friends whose ex partners are better completely away from the kids because they are toxic men. The CPS won't do anything unless someone calls them, once (not long ago) in the US a child who was playing in his home front yard was taken by the CPS and the mother was arrested in plain view of everyone, the crime, the child was playing alone, in the yard and the person who called CPS thought he was unsupervised but the mother was looking from the kitchen, the child was like 10 years old. The child was removed from the mother for almost 48 hours and the mother was kept arrested. I found it so crazy. So, any of you who complain so much, who is going to call the CPS and separate two kids who look happy and healthy from their "psycho" mother? Really I dare you. I'm not a Stella fan and I have doubts about many things but who is up for breaking a family that's already broken to start with as the father is nowhere to be seen, unless Stella decided to have them for herself as an arragement with the dad, we don't know the story.

Hi Haiji. The comment was based on the video and your question in the post, about what are our thoughts. I didn't watch the entire thing as I couldn't at the moment and the volume was very low so I based it mostly in the pics you showed, I wanted to listen but I had baby asleep so I thought I might at least comment on the pictures and videos added. I know it's hilarious but that's why I said if we look for something deep enough we can find about anything. Sorry I was unable to watch the whole thing, I watched most hehe.

Re: Re-brand (72,460) (72,508) by May from Denmark
Uhm no Mimi L. Glitter was pretty, really bad regarding image. I recall all the name calling and horrible articles, the whole "Mariah wanted to commit suicide and there was blood everywhere", talk about exaggerating a situation, the stories that ran that time, with things about her mother finding her on the floor, Luis Miguel cheating on her with another and suddenly Mariah appearing there, Mariah going crazy to no comeback, Mariah in a mental institution, etc. It was bad, really bad, and the mockery of her movie, which I don't even think it was that terrible, it was just too simple and not worthy to watch on repeat. I remember The Bodyguard with Whitney Houston, it was so entertaining I thought Mariah was going to pull something like that, the music was fabulous. I think the music from Glitter was phenomenal. Maybe Glitter the movie should have been a musical. I do agree though that her brand needs some re-working, she is falling into what everyone else is doing, I don't dislike her touchy-touchy or leotards but it's looking unoriginal. The video was a huge let down for me, when I saw her running with the wedding dress my first thought was "yes, a follow up from WTB" but no, it was repetitive and way too simple. Then it seemed that Mariah and Stella directed the whole thing, really two brains couldn't come up with a small script? It didn't have to be big budget but more than just two cars and like four changes of dress would have been nice, like a change in scenario but whatever, we got what we got. But the video got the views and I don't think Mariah will change the page now, I think she will probably keep on this route. I have never been fixated with her image anyway, I always thought she was somewhat boring in all in her videos, like ABM I always found it boring, but I loved the music, MIAM had some great tunes worthy of videos that were promised and never delivered. I Don't wasn't a bad song but the video was so lackluster. I do hope the music goes up in level though, ok Mariah, you had your fun, serious business now.

Re: Reaching at its finest (72,452) (72,507) by May from Denmark
This only happens when reading too much into a picture. You can probably find a gazillion of things in anything if you want to look for it hard enough. It's just bollocks really, come on, the horns salute just because waving the fingers and suddenly the photographer snapped a moment, so I guess the lambs are going to be the ultimate sacrifice and blood will be spilled at Lionel's tour haha. Relax.

Re: How much crack? (72,459) (72,506) by May from Denmark
Remember Stintella had a fight with people at Page Six. So they won't publish anything good about Mariah, true or lie, until Stintella decides to do some payola, which won't happen, it's the jet life darling, in her world it doesn't matter if they talk bad about Mariah or herself, she will just Instagram a picture of her butt swinging "empowerment" made in Boomerang as a response haha, that's how she thinks everything gets fixed.

Re: Relevance (72,483) (72,504) by May from Denmark
Really you think she has little songwriting left Andrew? You didn't like anything from MIAM? I did enjoy a fair amount of songs. She has sang great during her Vegas show and tours, she has had upside downs vocally but still has done very well all in all, I continue to find her voice very appealing.

Re: I don't (72,318) (72,321) by May from Denmark
Not even Mariah and her team know. Unless they are playing the fools and suddenly come up with a surprise. So far it's being decided if she is going to sing it on the Lionel's tour or what. I say she should go to Ellen and for once sing a song in a sketch on the show. Every time they get together it's so funny. It's been said Mariah is preparing a new song for March, so I don't believe they will do much with "I don't".

Re: Mariah Superbowl - setllist (like Diana Ross) (72,261) (72,310) by May from Denmark
I believe that what makes Gaga confident is the fact that she doesn't care if she sounds bad. Mariah is too self conscious and insecure with her voice, she wants to sound perfect all the time, Gaga doesn't care this, she is very relaxed about it. Mariah would much rather throw a fit and not sing or keep up the pre recorded shenanigans than take the chance. It's awful to admit it.

Re: Radio has started playing I Don't (72,201) (72,225) by May from Denmark
Haha don't take it as that sweetie. Bullying was never in style but is nice there's more awareness. As someone who lost an entire year of high school because of bullying I can definitely say it's great people don't just stand on the lines watching anymore and that includes the internet. Mariah could do with some good press and comments, really hard to shake off her last mess and the blaming game. At least she is owning it with new material and the Lego voice acting. Right now I'm just happy she seems to be everywhere.

Re: General public (72,181) (72,194) by May from Denmark
I will spam the board with this last messege before bed (the only time I really have to read and write all the comments that's why my posts appear one after another). Outside this forum on IG or YT I always defend MC 100% and I'm very positive, quite enthusiastic with her projects, I do share a bit of criticism but I feel that to me, personally, this board is my way of vent things and also find other people's honest opinions which many times go along with my thoughts. This is a Mariah board afterall, IG, FB, YT, all those are public and truth is I don't want to put my idol down in front of the general public. You don't talk your private issues in public but in your home. This is like my home where I can express how I feel, sometimes good , sometimes bad. Surely I'm not alone in this. I love Mariah even in her wackiest moment and I don't want to bash her in public, I stay positive always nonetheless hoping she will find a fresh sound, for now I find comfort in her beautiful voice. I was glad to see the general public received the song that well, shame that the same can't be said about the video, it's like there was no effort. Stintella needed coins for the jet gas, she loves to use it so much.

Re: Radio has started playing I Don't (72,185) (72,193) by May from Denmark
Why the song was released for radio so late instead of taking advantage of the snippets buzz and go all out day 1 when the video dropped? We will see how it does now, it's still in the US iTunes top 10. Maybe a push and will get to Billboard too. I have to say this out loud, there's a fair amount of garbage right now on Billboard charts, I honestly can expect anything for "I don't" which is not bad. I can't say the video will have that many more views, like darling this_is_qhm said, will anyone press the repeat button? I know I did but then I like seeing Mariah even if it's just her having a moment with herself haha but what about the general public? I love how people defended her in the comments section against the bullies, including non fans, refreshing to see such empathy and humanity towards another person.

Re: What advice would you give Mariah? (72,176) (72,192) by May from Denmark
I also agree she should let someone else write music for her, mostly because it will be refreshing in sound and vibe, sometimes I can predict the melodies after so many years of listening to her. Singing someone's else art will allow her to grow as well and find inspiration. Right now, she is just recycling the mixtape.
