To know that answer to that question you need to read a book call "Mimi L. from Asia".

I'm friends with two people who are closed friends with Trey, and he won't talk. I've asked questions to be asked to him, and I've heard his answers in recording, he won't say anything. One thing he says though is that he loves Beyonce and it seems to be he's worked with her. So nothing will come out of his mouth, he's on Mariah's payroll as a permanent employee, not only when she goes on tour. He used to be a heavy drinker, but has stopped because it affected his voice. My friend asked him: What happened to Mariah's voice? And his answer: he roled his eyes and dodged the question.

Mariah looks so happy, careless, and into the performance. She's relying completely on an instrument that is responsive so she's relaxed and in control. Her voice was epic even singing a song that's not considered difficult or straining. She doesn't look worried about the next note or anything, those were the days. I'm starting to believe Mariah might've gone through some surgical procedure in the 90's that didn't go quite right.

Reuben is not new to the messageboard. I don't support nor condone bullying or bigotry, but we shouldn't be that sensitive in light of lighthearted jokes. I don't know if you noticed, but some of the messages I posted towards Reuben are lines picked up from Mariah's favorite movie "Mean Girls". Some people shouldn't be so touchy or we're going to have to walk on eggshells here. The messageboard tend to be sometimes boring and repetitive or sometimes the mood is kind of dark. Let's joke a little, let's be silly a little, let's not take shit so seriously. It ain't that deep. I might not agree with some posts in here, but I do appreciate everybody here. I don't want to be part of anything where everybody thinks like me. It would be boring as hell. And I know this is going to come across as bullying, forgive me, but "Migrate" should've been a single.

Ruben, you don't have to quote every post you're replying to, just the old ones, as in posts made in 1844 and beyond.

Reuben, so you've actually never been to a real messaboard before? OK, you should just know that we here at MCArchives don't do this a lot, so this is, like, a really huge deal. We wanna invite you to post without making any references every day for the rest of the week. Just remember that everybody here when they post on Wednesdays they wear pink. If you need a pink shirt, there's a lovely member here who could lend you one, his name is B, but you have to give the pink-shirt back. Last time we did this, Andrew didn't return the pink-shirt back and now everybody hates him.

Eric, Reuben is just picking old posts at random and replying to them. I'm going to ask him three questions whose answers lie deeply buried in three unique ancient posts very hard to find. If he's really reading all those messages, he should know the answers, but I doubt it. Here it goes: Reuben, 1. Which song from E=MC2 should've been a single? (hint: "Rae Rae, Shawntae and Mae Mae") 2. What is Licia's favorite album? (sorry, no hint here) 3. What is the name of the song used against Andy to get him banned from the messageboard? (hint: Martin Luther King Junior)

Reuben, don't make me cyber-slap you into next week. Stating the date the message was posted won't cut it, just copy and paste the original message in quotes followed by your reply. Ok, let me give you an example:
"Andrew, Book of Lambs, Chapter (80,942) Eddie Eddie Eddie. You remember that thing you said about somethin' in like 2014, the thing bout that Mariah thing? Well I didn't like it. Splain yourself, please."
And then my reply would be one of the stupidest movie lines I've ever heard:
Andrew, love is never having to say I'm sorry.
See how easy eat it is.

Reuben just has a lot of feeling (80,942)

Reuben just wishes we could all get along like we used to in middle school. He wishes he could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy. He's been replying to those old messages because he just has a lot of feelings. There's nothing wrong with that. With the flu and a few splashes the nostalgia has gotten to him. Te queremos, Reuben.

I think you're right. Obsessing over what one doesn't have any control of doesn't make sense anymore. I guess some of us have followed Mariah's career for so long that we keep wishing/waiting for something that maybe isn't going to happen. Even Mariah herself seems to gets annoyed when asked about new music. I'll gravitate towards Ed Sheeran's music in the meantime. His passion, lyrics and soul are the closest to what Mariah used to deliver. I think Camila Cabello's album is good listen. You can hear Mariah's influence on it.

That "I don't give a flying F" about what my fans think or want to hear from me really pisses me off. Mariah was always known for having the most loyal fans, but she won that by acknowledging us, not in a fake way, but actually making us feel that what we thought and wanted from her mattered to her. As time progressed, Mariah started getting lost in her looks and maybe in her head, grounded she never stayed. She looks great and healthy now, and I'm happy for her, but she doesn't seem to have any real passion for music anymore. We, her fans, would devour any music she puts out if it's good, or even if she wrote, produced or did background for somebody else. When Mariah put her signature on something, it was quality. Her part on "Every Time I Close My Eyes" was epic, "Where Are You Christmas", even though she never sung it, we could all hear Mariah all over it. The Allure songs she produced/wrote and sung background vocals for were great. "All Cried Out" is a great ballad. The quality wasn't only on her voice. I guess we make excuses to justify mediocrity a lot these days. That obsession with having write anything she sings or lyrically modify any song she's presented with must've prevented her from having way more hits and great songs than she has in her catalog. I don't see the big deal in having a song written by somebody else and make it her own with her own production and vocal arrangements, that also counts, Whitney did it, and she's done it with remakes too. What pisses me off is all this waiting to get something not up to part. So many opportunities to collaborate with other artists without having to feel like "Oh, I put something out and I flopped again."

If we take our blinders off for a minute (80,866)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
I don't understand how anybody could still justify her "Oops, I didn't know" for obviously carbon copying the melody for "Emotions". At what point is it Ok to take our blinders off and be objective? Last time I checked, even in Mariah's World, two plus two still equaled four. Some of the lawsuits against her are pure bullshit and she knows very well which ones, she obviously didn't settle for those. But those they settled for, well, it has happened in the music industry since forever. Yes, there's a possibility that you could use a melody that somebody else has used without knowing, but a whole effing song? Yeah, Mary Poppins, right. I guess Michael Bubble's only crediting Mariah for the lyrics of AIWFCIY because the melody on his take on of the song is slower. There. Is. Not. Justification. Ed Sheeran had to share credit on "Shape of You" with Candy Buruss because he used a sample of "No Scrubs", he basically carbon copied "Amazing", yes, almost note for note, for his song "Photograph", and again he was sued for sampling Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get it Out" for his "Thinking Out Loud" song. If you listen to the songs, you don't need a judge to tell you he's as guilty as Mariah is for getting too emotional and doing the same for "Emotions". I love Ed Sheeran and I love Mariah, but at some point one must stop justifying the unjustifiable.

I agree, "Can't Let Go" and "Till The End of Time" are sung with such emotion, it's like every word gets delivered straight to one's soul. I know Tommy is mostly hated by the lambs, but I can't imagine Mariah without the type of music she did while under his wing. She might not listen to or like pop music, but when she delivers pop, she shines. "Almost Home" and "One Child" are up to part with any of her 90's music, even better than some. I guess we'll only experience Mariah doing pop on Christmas and soundtrack songs.

Superbowl, really? (80,826)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
Well, Mariah can't walk two steps without help. Can you imagine her at the Superbowl? The Superbowl is more about bringing an energetic performance, not only the music. Mariah has plenty of songs in her catalog that would go great as part, and I repeat, as part of a great performance, but we all know Mariah is very lazy to commit to anything remotely close to a simple choreography. The Superbowl is not just an "I'm Here" for a soundcheck event. It's a super production in which Mariah would have to be willing to work hard as a team player, not as a diva, and actually rehearse. I think she could definitely pull it off, but she would have to stop her diva ways for that. She would have to actually work out at being flexible, being in shape is not directly related to being flexible. She would have to learn how to walk on whatever shoes she's on. She would have to commit to learning some "Heartbreaker" type of choreography, only with more energy. The production would even bring a real helicopter for Honey, but that along wouldn't do it. Lazy ass movement as if she's constipated wouldn't cut it. Wigs and weaves should have to be attached with crazy glue. It's not an event to just look pretty. Being realistic, I wouldn't like her to even try it. I think it would be career suicide. Singing "America The Beautiful" would be just fine. And for before the Lamb Police jump in, I want to say that I'm not saying Mariah should turn into a Paula Abdul or Beyonce, but she would have to do something other than some lazy as movements. As much as I hate to say it, I think Celine would do better, but I they are not the type of artists for events like these.

Mariah's Theme (80,658)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
When CTTA came out, I loved it. The message was empowering and the delivery while not close to that of Hero, was more emotional because it was personal to her. That was back when I felt butterflies in my stomach every time Mariah's music was about to be released. Since there wasn't social media of the Internet as we know it, I got very bad quality midi's of the song, the anticipation building up to its release. Even though she tried hard, the song didn't resonate with the rest of the world just like Hero did. The video is cheesy, and once again Mariah looking pretty. Once the high of the Rainbow album was gone, it's one of those songs that I rarely listen to anymore.

Oh no, you did not. You'd better hide now. Eric, keep the messageboard as it is. It's been 20 years and still going for a reason. Mariah Daily Journal's messageboard never worked because it was lambs holding hands, counting unicorns and praying from the Book of Lambs. The variety of posters and opinions on this board creates a balance that has worked for years now, why change it? I, for instance, had a disagreement with Andrew, but I said what I had to say, and moved on. Do I hate him or want him gone from the board? No, I don't. Yes, some people would be happier if he just said: "I don't like CTTA" and its "video", but how boring would that be? And if that day should come, you should ban him, lol. When Mariah was mentioned in the past, the first thing that came to mind was music, great music, but now since we've regurgitated our views on her great body of work so many times, we have don't much to talk about anymore. We're left with pictues, looks, boobs, boyfriends, rings and other personal stuff non-related to her music. Why is it that just like Justin Bieber did by offering himself for the remix to "Despacito", Mariah, who has a great ear for a hit, doesn't do the same on a regular basis. If the muse or passion is not there anymore, at least she should keep herself in the spotlight upgrading other people's projects. Beyonce had an easy #1 with Ed Sheeran, there goes one of my dream collaborations.

Well, on the "Endless Love" video, Mariah was giving beautiful legs left and right, and the girls were screaming to come out of the closet. Little did they know they would eventually come out times 10 and with a make over. And you're definitely right, Mariah was stunningly beautiful. Her attitude made her look like a little princes, she was very unassuming. She knew she had that the gift, but she always show humbleness.

Mariah and Luther killed "Endless Love". Just like Mariah killed "O Holy Night". Celine tackled "O Holy Night", but no matter how loud she sung, she ccouldn't match Mariah's version. I love her version too, it's the one I like most second to Mariah's. The video for "Endless Love" is one of those I watched over and over and over again. Oh how I bragged about Mariah and her powerful voice. It was clear, strong, crisp, agile, it was everything. Luther's voice was like butter, organic of course.

"Part of the big problem is she has nothing else to say", I totally agree with that assessment. Not only Mariah, but most artists, like Alanis, when they were young and angry for whatever reason, they had things to get our of their chests, they would be really creative and things flowed effortlessly. Mariah has tackled relationships, breakups and heartaches from every angle. She's been black, she's been white, she's been mixed, she's been multiracial, she's been sabotaged, she's been coerced to conform, she's been in love, she's been out of love, she's been abandoned, she's been pregnant, she's had Christmas on January, July and December, she's had breast implants, she's had them in the closet, she's let them out, she's been a cougar, she's been a mother, she's been betrayed, she's been counted out, she's been counted back in, she's been cuckoo-for-cocoa-puffs, she's been sane again, etc. I guess it's accurate to say that she just doesn't have much to say anymore. Her creative juice seemed to have been greatly dependent on her desire to express herself. At this point, everything would be repetitive unless she actually shocks us all with a complete new sound, something I doubt. Judging by "I Don't", "She Won't". She'll be riding on her tired R&B formula. Nothing wrong with R&B or Hip Hop, it's just that I think it's time for Mariah to experiment with new sounds and collaborations.
