Essential albums: Mariah Carey - #1 To Infinity (81,316) by B from USA I never understood why critics called Heartbreaker a recycled version of Dreamlover and Fantasy. The only similarity between the three songs is that each song is built around a sample. I've even read reviews that claim Mariah used the same sample for each song (Genius of Love). Someday (81,315) by B from USA 27 years ago on this day Someday hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Mariah's third consecutive number-one single. Like Mariah I prefer the MTV Unplugged version to the studio version. (Friday 9 March 2018; 18:33)

I hope she works with Miguel and Happy Perez on her next studio album. Obssessed would have also topped the Hot 100 if MOAIA had been released when it was at it's peak as well. Both singles are certified platinum. Those delays caused both albums to underperform. Hopefully, Mariah has everything in order when she release her next album. (Friday 23 February 2018; 05:59)
