New album (77,304)

Do you guys still think Mariah's releasing a new album by the end of the year? Probably she might just one day make it available on iTunes and Amazon without much noise. That would be something.

RJJ12, thanks for the video and additional information. I didn't know it was actually that deep. He was actually worth more dead than alive for some of these leeches. I'm not too much into conspiracy theories, but judging by the recounts from the bodyguard and the video you pointed out, he would actually make more money for them dead than alive, given the fact that, according to the bodyguards, Michael was hesitant about going back on stage which seemed to have been blocking these leeches from profiting from him. So sad. It's good that Morgan said something similar could happen to Mariah, at least it's out there. I don't believe in family airing their dirty laundry in public, but when it comes to that specific part, I'm glad he said it.

Searching for Neverland (77,279)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
This is not related to Mariah, but I just watched "Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland" and I'm actually surprised and pleased at how they showed a Michael Jackson many people didn't know about. The story is told from recounts of his bodyguards who used to be close to him, and it's actually very believable. They could've gone for the controversial Michael Jackson image, but instead the story is told with grace and, in my opinion, with honesty. I hope they could show Mariah in this light while she's still with us.

Game of Thrones (77,263)

The sooner we realize that Rihanna is going to surpass Mariah's 18 #1's the better. At least it would be someone who not only respects her, but who also has been inspired by her, someone who, in spite of her pop status and unapologetic bad girl image, humbles herself every time she talks about Mariah or when her name is mentioned. I mostly listen to Rihanna's when I'm working out or when I want to feel upbeat, but I don't consider myself to be a fan. Why will Rihanna surpass Mariah's #1's? Well, Unlike Mariah, Rihanna tend to get featured on so many songs in between and during and after releasing an album that she'll score more than 21 #1's for sure, it's only a matter of time. I don't think it's a matter of comparing them vocally or artistically, if it's not Rihanna, it will be somebody else, just like Mariah broke many other records who had been set before she came as a force to be reckoned with in the music scene. As a fan, I do hope she keeps the OSD record for a long time though. That record is more significant to me than her 18 #1's. Only hard-core fans remember that Mariah wrote and produced most of her #1's, the public doesn't care much about that, they just see it as just another #1. The thing is that ever since forever Mariah's been promoted using her #1's that some people have gotten to resent that. At this point, I just hope Mariah stops chasing the next hit trying to desperately appeal to an audience that doesn't seem to be paying attention to what she's offering. I hope she concentrates on creating quality music regardless of hit potential; she's earned that right at this point in her life. Many of the artists labeled as "has been" have tried to emulate their previous eras and come across as desperate. If Mariah works in being consistent by taking care of whatever's left of her voice and couple it with great music, she would still have an audience for sure. We get disappointed and complain, but we're still here for a reason, not just because we like to suffer or troll.

Re: Why you mad at Mariah? (77,089) (77,090)

Completely agree with you. It's frustrating looking back at the way her music and persona used to make me feel when new music was about to drop or a performance was about to take place. I can't describe it, but the excitement in anticipation of Mariah releasing new music was comparable to me only to that of when you're in love and feel those wonderful butterflies in your stomach. I think I'm following your approach, which is to just not let this mess she's become interfere with the wonderful music and performances she graced us with, because this is what's been happening to me. There's always a little bit of hope in my heart that she might do something to turn things around, but I do also have the awful feeling that she'll end up like Michael and Whitney, and then there wouldn't be hope anymore. I wish for her to be there for her children and see them go to college, but there's clearly something very off with Mariah that only the delusional ones refuse to see. I think she should just retire for now, devote herself to her children, and then eventually resurface in a different light. This constant "all in your face everything but good music" Mariah we've been experiencing lately has made a joke out of once was a great brand.

The Muppet I don't want to name (77,022)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
I don't really want to say the name of that female Muppet because I don't want to be disrespectful to people who are overweight due to medical reasons, but Mariah is looking more and more like that character from the Muppet's Show I used to watch when I was a kid. If she keeps going like that Ms. Piggy's going to sue her for copying her brand. She's really turned into a vivid caricature of her former self, and it seems to be that at this point there's not shame in putting horrendous performances while dressed like a circus poodle, I can't. Her legs look as if they were detachable from the hips, like they don't go with her body. If it's not medical, I hope she lays off the pizza and big Macs, people are not paying their money to see her sounding and looking like that.

Eric, I think you didn't really quite get what he was trying to say, remember he's from France and sometimes his posts don't come across as he intends them to. I've been taking up some French classes and this is what he was trying to say: Mariah should spread a 15-song concert over five days. She would sing three songs per night and go home, rest her voice, make sure her husband Stella has eaten, and stuff, then she would return next day to sing three more songs and so forth until five days have gone by and she would be done. The fans would also go home and appreciate she's doing it so they could have a better experience and value for their money. You may be the Webmaster, but I think sometimes you're so touchy. You should be happy Mariah sang "Thanks For Nothing" and sounded just like the CD, impressive. And if you can't be optimistic after that bodysuit, I'm sorry for you.

Re: Could we all be part of another metamorphosis? (76,657) (76,660)
by Edward from USA

The difference is that back in 1997 Mariah morphed from her "Little Goody Two-Shoes" image into a sexy, never trashy, and talented sexy butterfly. She changed her looks, but her music was still strong and spoke to people. She alienated some fans, but gained others. What really kept her afloat was her music because the woman poured her soul into it, vocally and lyrically. Now, Mariah "ain't no" spring chicken anymore. Her looks are mostly awful, the music is not priority anymore, her voice is still declining, and no, a 3-year vocal rest won't get it back to where it was, and I'm not expecting that either. This new generation won't keep Mariah, as talented singer/songwriter afloat if Mariah is not delivering a product worth buying/consuming. Mariah's name is being kept afloat, but based on what? Based on obviously scripted reality TV, planting stories, lies, endorsement deals, questionable behavior, and awful performances. I wouldn't mind the diva behavior as long as she could stand in front of a mike and sing for her life at least one song every once in a blue moon, but that's rarely the case. Attitude really matters, Christina attitude killed her career. Adele could be overweight, underweight or whatever, but the woman delivers when she has to, and her attitude? Well, being humble and not believing your own hype works. The woman thinks Mariah should be in the Bible, yet Mariah said she never heard "Hello".

I don't really care much about how Mariah dresses, but the woman really needs a reality check, and quick. she should at least be mindful of her weight and dress appropriately. I don't care if she wants to be as big as Gabourey Sidibe, but please dress accordingly. She definitely looks like bootleg Precious in that bodysuit.

Re: Mariah Carey doesn't want to be interviewed - 2017 (76,631) (76,646)

Stella does it because Mariah allows it. Mariah is not deaf, she clearly heard the guy. She's given autographs to some fans before when her bodyguards had told them it wasn't going to happen. Remember what Nick said, Mariah manages Mariah. Had Mariah had a problem with it, Stella wouldn't be doing it. As much as I can't stand Stella, Mariah is responsible for it, as simple as that. One day there won't be any more scapegoats to shield Mariah from her responsibility and diva behavior. I'm just wondering when she'll put out some decent music, a real collaboration with a known artist would do her well. She really needs it. I feel sad she didn't utilize Justin Bieber by producing a great track with him in it. The guy seems to have the Midas touch Mariah used to have in her prime.

Re: The violence verification (76,459) (76,462)

Drew, if Mariah said it, then it must be true. Right? This is a verse from "Side Effects": "Wakin' up scared some nights Still dreamin' 'bout the violent times Still a little protective 'bout the people That I let inside Still a little defensive Thinkin' folks be tryin' to run my life Still a little depressed Inside I fake a smile and deal with the side effects" That's the evidence that he was violent, she said it in "Side Effects" and we as good lambs shouldn't question it. We all know Tommy wasn't a saint. He was obsessed and even tried to sabotage her, but I don't blindly believe everything Mariah says, especially after Mariah's World. She lost credibility with me. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle.

Holy Moly, Edouard, you just made me have an epiphany. I see it all clear now. Mariah is putting out a series of mediocre singles so people get really disappointed with her music and not focus on it. For that she's bringing the attention to her tits, Stella and the posse. And then, she'll come back with a killer album at the end of 2037 and retire. Wow, I never thought of it that way. I always thought you were delusional, but you've opened my eyes. Mariah really knows what she's doing, she always has.

Andrew, as much as I don't like Stella, and as Nick said, Mariah manages Mariah. I don't blame Stella, but Mariah for going along with the craziness. As for Mariah being medicated, I do agree with you. Morgan said Mariah was bipolar, and even though I don't applaud him for putting her business out there, I believe he was telling the truth. I also believe the medication she takes has an effect on her weight.

Randy, I don't know if you see it, but the way things look and if they continue that way, Mariah is fast approaching Madonna's zone in terms of relevancy music wise. She has about 5 years to produce two albums. The success of those albums will greatly depend on whether she keeps with her recent shenanigans or make a 360 turn for the best. I never thought I would see "the elusive chateuce and reality TV" in the same sentence. Mariah put the elusive part of her life in the closet and now has become a media whore, and that's so sad. Such an incredible talent put to no use, and such an incredible catalog tarnished time and again with uninspired mediocre tracks. Mariah is not embracing the fact that she's getting older like the rest of us, so she's acting out like a woman going through a midlife crisis trying to desperately hold on to a distorted vision of what she used to be. I think she should produce one album and retire and safe herself the embarrassment. I feel like I don't know this woman anymore.

Channeling the Buttefly within (76,296)

I actually think Mariah looks stunning without panties. She definitely has gotten to a point in a her life where she doesn't get her panties in a bunch. She seems to be invoking Cruella De Vil with that dress though, but that's Vegas baby. Getting into Edoard's frame of mind, I would say she's making a statement here since we've never seen a butterfly wearing panties. She's excused.

The older fans at MCArchives appreciate your diss. Thanks for being one of us. And I don't know where in Alaska you live, but this website is a true reflection of her fans. Yes, the fans that actually buy her music, no those click-fans that flood Mariah's social media accounts by the millions but never purchase shit she releases. In my opinion, you are bleak to come here and complain on a platform you so vividly abhor. Besitos.

B, you know I like most of your posts, but sometimes you say some shit, I want to come to Indiana and choke you. Madonna and Mariah are both irrelevant. Most people 10 years older than us think Mariah sounds like Ariana, that should tell you something there. Madonna, just like Mariah, has her name cemented in the history of music. Let's not downplay Madonna's contribution to the music scene and how she also paved the way so many others female artist could express themselves freely. Every star, including our beloved Mariah, fades away. And I know you're not from Indiana, lol.

You really sound like one of the characters from "The NeverEnding Story". Yes, Mariah is going to bring back her unicorn from the set of the "Touch My Body" video and explain convincingly the reason why she keeps wearing the ring that was given to her under the promise of marriage while she's parading herself with her very own cougaree, Brian Tanaka. She'll definitely explain.

Celine Dion at Billboard 2007 (76,067)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
I finally got to see Celine Dion perform "My Heart Will Go On" at Billboard, and it was a beautiful performance. She sung MHWGO in a lower key, but the woman definitely has such confidence that reminds me of Whitney Houston in her glory days. I think she used some pre-recorded track for part of the climax, but the blending was perfect. Had she used the vocals from the CD, it would've been noticeable. The respect people in the audience showed was almost palpable. I wish Mariah would give a performance like this sometime soon. But everything would have to be on point, from the prodcution, dress, voice, confidence to the lipping. I don't see why some people hate on Celine as if by hating on her Mariah would be doing better or something. I'm actually glad we still have Celine around, she doesn't sing like she used to, but she makes the best of what he has.

Mariah should get on RuPaul's "Lipsynch for Your Life" class. RuPaul's Celine's coach. That's why she's that good at lipping. Thank God Mariah is not covering her face with her arms every time a lipping part is about to happen, and she doesn't spin like a spinning wheel either anymore, that would give her up every time. Those days of dubbing are gone for her, that's why she's usually exposed, not that she didn't do it in the past.
