About Dove from United States:

Cosmopolitan (90,263) by Dove from United States
I love that she's wearing Meghan Markle's tiara. I have a replica of that tiara too. I wear it around the house when I want to feel fancy.

Re: Mariah's greatest lyric (90,146) (90,157) by Dove from United States
"You're acting so corny like Fritos" is Mariah's "Sitting on a Cornflak." I love it. They don't all have to be deep.

Re: List / unplugged on Jimmy Fallon (89,607) (89,618) by Dove from United States
Thanks for playing Andrew. I'm going to make a playlist of your list and imagine she's singing it live.

Rob King. He's really likeable and has that same light Martyn did. His vibrato reminds me a little of Andrea Bocelli. Did he really sing TTEOT?

Wow, I can't believe it's been two years. I looked Martyn up when you wrote about him last year and I missed him even though I never knew him. He seemed like such a happy person, and well loved. This video made me smile.

List / unplugged on Jimmy Fallon (89,601) by Dove from United States
If Mariah did another MTV Unplugged type album, but smaller and more intimate, like when she went on Jimmy Fallon and you could pick the 10 songs; what songs would you choose and why? Here's mine:

01. Betcha 'Gon Know
02. Prisoner
03. Migrate
04. Did I Do That
05. Underneath the Stars
06. Make It Look Good
07. The Roof
08. Music Box
09. Outside
10. I Wish You Well

Betcha 'Gon Know sounds like an intimate show opener. I Wish You Well sounds like a closer. I like DIDT and would like to hear it stripped down without the "we can't stop, you can't stop" superfluity. Outside, MILG, The Roof, and UTS I love and would love to hear live; some would be for the first time ever. Migrate and Prisoner are fun songs to add a festive moment to the set. Music Box would be for the throw back and because it's beautiful.

I just saw that MTV Unplugged was only six songs so if I had to choose only six these are it:

01. Betcha 'Gon Know
02. Did I Do That
03. Make It Look Good
04. The Roof
05. Outside
06. I Wish You Well

Help Me Make It is so beautiful. I love when she sings in her lower register.

Mariah Carey axes cover of Jackson 5 song (89,532) by Dove from United States
She dropped most of the #1's from the setlist. Media just likes to start drama. Also, they may have been friends but she wasn't with him every minute. She may believe he's innocent but she doesn't know for sure that he never molested any kids. IMO it's a good idea to take IBT out of the setlist, at least for a while.

Re: Madonna's BBMA performance (89,519) (89,525) by Dove from United States
Totally agree with you. When she feels up on herself it makes me cringe too.

It's funny because when Cher used to wear the costumes with all the cutouts it didn't look bad on her IMO. Or the outfit Kim Kardashian wore to the Met Gala was pretty naked but it wasn't as offensive. I can't put my finger on why.

Re: Madonna's BBMA performance (89,508) (89,524) by Dove from United States
If you're asking me B, I don't love when Mariah shows too much skin. Like in this clip for example. Or the rotisserie chickens in the GTFO video. But I'm still a fan. I feel like Mariah is like Playboy and Madonna is like Hustler. (Not that I've seen those magazines but I heard about them on American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story.)

Re: Madonna's BBMA performance (89,504) (89,505) by Dove from United States
I guess I meant someone who actually looks like a grandmother. Honestly it's not just that she looks so old. I wasn't that into her when she was younger either.

Re: Madonna's BBMA performance (89,498) (89,499) by Dove from United States
Madonna. Hey, I've said before the TMB video makes me uncomfortable. Just saying, just because I don't like something doesn't mean other people have to not like it too. Different strokes for different folks.

Re: Madonna's BBMA performance (89,485) (89,497) by Dove from United States
Madonna had the dancers, costumes, set, holograms, hottie, etc. It's obvious she invests a lot into putting on a show that will entertain us. I can appreciate that because not everyone does it. Being a performer is an art too. For me what's off-putting is seeing someone old enough to be a grandmother being so sexual. But I think that's just me because I'm kind of a prude. I used to like Madonna when I was a little girl but around the time Human Nature came out she was just too much for me.

Re: BBMAs 2019 (89,478) (89,483) by Dove from United States
You're right, she doesn't seem like s nice person. Madonna kind of scares me. One of my first memories is of my aunt and her husband watching a Madonna concert around 1989 and my mom walking in and yelling at them for letting me watch it. I used to listen to the Immaculate Collection on my walkman because my mom didn't like her. Haha.

Madonna's BBMA performance (89,481) by Dove from United States
That was actually the first time I heard her new song and I kinda liked it. The holograms were cool and Maluma (yum). But the first thing that came to mind when I watched it was Disco Dottie. Especially the part where she's on top of the table doing the butterfly. Sorry if I offended anyone.

BBMAs 2019 (89,476) by Dove from United States
I hardly watch awards shows anymore but I watched the whole thing because I didn't know what time Mariah was coming on. Here are my observations: I liked Taylor's performance, it was fun and colorful and energetic. Halsey = poor man's P!nk. Ciara = poor man's Janet. Ariana wasn't trying to be Mariah for once so I appreciated that. Also noticed her voice sounded weaker than it did on performances from her first album. Kelly has a strong and powerful voice but the lyrics to her songs are consistently bad and she needs to keep her shoes on. Madonna reminded me of the old lady from the movie Studio 54 with Ryan Phillipe. (Also, she's gotten Icon awards before so she needs quit being bitter.) BTS - been there, done that with boy bands from the 90's and 2000's. I was impressed with Paula - great energy and lip synching done right. Mariah's performance had a few hiccups but I still loved it because I love her and I was moved by her humbleness and nostalgia and willingness to sing live even though her voice is not as predictable as it once was.

2019 Billboard Music Awards (89,416) by Dove from United States
Okay, never mind, I take back what I said before. It actually was entertaining. I started tearing up during Hero then again during her speech. I loved her ensemble and she looked beautiful and fresh. I loved seeing her babies watching her. Also, I enjoyed the dancers, piano player, and background singers. They always look so happy and upbeat - I love watching them. I was reminded of everything MC has accomplished and our journey together and I felt so proud of her.

Another Christmas album (89,411) by Dove from United States
Not sure if you guys were being sarcastic but I genuinely would love a third Christmas album while Mariah still has her voice. Her Christmas music is consistently popular with the general public. Even though she has two Christmas albums I feel like she could use one more. Sometimes I listen to only Mariah's Christmas songs and I feel like it goes too fast. I would prefer classic timeless Christmas songs that won't sound dated 30 years from now.

Re: JHud (89,403) (89,410) by Dove from United States
I didn't want to say anything and be negative but if she really is singing A No No and ABMB that sounds super boring. Taylor and Kelly are performing and they always put on great performances. This could have been great but I have a feeling it's going to be underwhelming. What a wasted opportunity.

Re: (89,377) (89,384) by Dove from United States
I agree. A third Christmas album would be great to keep the momentum going and a fun dance album of original music in the summer. Andrew you should be her manager.

Valentine's Day (89,383) by Dove from United States
It would be amazing if Mariah released an album of classic songs on Valentine's Day and called the album "Valentine's Day". I know she had the small compilation "Valentines" but that's not even in production anymore. I know these songs have been covered by dozens of artists already but I would love to hear them sung by The Songbird Supreme with a full orchestra done in a classic and timeless way.

These songs are already written so she would just need to get a good producer and travel somewhere tropical to record them:

Young at Heart
Embraceable You
What a Wonderful World
Somewhere Over the Rainbow
My Funny Valentine
Unforgettable
La Vie en Rose
When I Fall In Love
I'll Be There (Bobby Darin) (apologies for strippers in the clip)
Smoke Gets in Your Eyes
Since I Don't Have You
As Time Goes By
Stardust
Blue Skies
Moon River
Summertime
Life is But a Dream (Dion)
Feeling Good
It's Magic (Sarah Vaughn)
Smile

Re: (89,358) (89,360) by Dove from United States
I'd love a jazz album or an album of standards or a stripped album with mostly piano guitar and vocals as much as the next guy but I don't mind her working with younger people. I feel like the fun and innovation is with the younger people and she's gotta keep it fresh. The standards, stripped, or jazz album has to be a side project IMO.
