I also love I Still Believe Pure Imagination remix.

I like the HATEU remix a lot.

Re: Next single from Caution or is this era over? (89,341) (89,347) by Dove from United States
I said Giving My Life in my last post but I changed my mind to One 'Mo Gen. It's the one I think fits best on top 40 stations.

Re: Mariah's memoir (89,278) (89,285) by Dove from United States
I want it to be like Jewel's memoir. I want to know about her personal relationships, she knows how to keep it classy while still spilling the tea. But not if she's just going to gloss over and say what she always says. I want a chapter each on Tommy, Nick, Damizza, Luis Miguel, and Derek Jeter, and whoever her first love was. Good times and bad, rise and fall. A chapter on how being a mom changed her, a chapter each on her childhood and teenhood. Life changing moments. Expand on the whole Glitter breakdown moment. I guess a chapter each on her life broken down by eras: Ingenue (debut, Emotions, Unplugged) Girl Next Door (Music Box, Merry Christmas, Daydream) Bombshell (Butterfly, Rainbow, Glitter) Emancipated Woman (Charmbracelet, TEOM, E=MC2), Elusive Chanteuse (Memoirs, MCIIY, MIAM). If songs are about certain people, either tell us straight out or allude to it. What is her biggest regret in life?

Medley performance (89,132) by Dove from United States
If she's getting a 15 minute medley performance slot:

Migrate
Obsessed
Thirsty
Say Something (if it's worth your while do something good to me)
Last Night A DJ Saved My Life
Dreamlover
Heartbreaker
Fantasy
Honey
Emotions (12" Club Mix intro)
Giving Me Life
Outside

She did Vision of Love last time she performed on BMA and Butterfly is her favorite (and arguably her best) album that's why there are two songs from BF on this list. If I had to remove one I'd remove Honey. I don't want to see the songs we always see her perform. I think we'd all like something fun, upbeat, and new mixed in with some number ones for the locals.

Side note: Giving Me Life should be the new single. They can make a video from her NY performance mixed with fun video from the tour.

I'd like to see her wear pants so she can move around and dance. Maybe crystal encrusted pants or a jumpsuit with a butterfly buckle belt. Or those yellow glittery Balenciaga boots Michelle Obama wore on her book tour - but pink.

I hate to say this but the pink Giambattista Vallidress Jennifer Lopez wore to the Second Act premier would have looked so good on Mariah. That shade of pink looks great on MC. Her legs would be on full display and her chest would be covered so it's a little modest but the top is still fitted. I just hope she wears some amazing ensembles to this.

Mariah to receive Icon Award at Music Awards (89,130) by Dove from United States
I hope she performs some upbeat songs and gets the locals to their feet. Maybe Migrate?

Re: Lil Kim/Cardi (89,091) (89,095) by Dove from United States
Yep. Over it too. The more I think about it, Cardi/Kim remix probably would have been super raunchy.

Mariah Carey taps Shawni for second "A No No" remix (89,040) by Dove from United States
Who chose that unfortunate picture?

GML video (89,036) by Dove from United States
You guys know how they used the footage from AIWFCIY for the Miss You Most at Christmas Time video? Someone should use the footage for With You for GML. I would do it myself but I don't know how. The With You video fits way better with GML IMO. Just remove the parts where she's lip syncing in the car.

While you're at it, if someone knows how to do this and is willing, make a video for Underneath the Stars using footage from ABMB video and Daydream tour Tokyo concert. Make the concert footage grainy.

New remix (89,009) by Dove from United States
I like this new remix and video better than the ones with SD. The rap part is giving me Left Eye/Lauryn Hill vibes. I really like what she's saying too. I also like that they're together in the video and it looks like they're having fun. It made me smile. I wish they would have given it a harder beat, though. I want it to bump harder as I'm driving. I want it to make me want to booty pop while I'm mopping my kitchen floor.

Never heard of her but I love her candidness and positive vibes in that video.

R&B (88,884) by Dove from United States
I mentioned to my husband that I don't like R&B music and he said that half of the albums I own are R&B records so maybe I do like it. Honestly, I just don't know what R&B is.

Re: Playtime (88,874) (88,881) by Dove from United States
I like the longer albums because we don't get new material from her too often anymore. If we got a new album every year I would have no problem with ten track albums.

Re: Final verdict (88,871) (88,879) by Dove from United States
I think the reason I love MIAM so much is because it sounds like a soundtrack to me. I can picture a story unfolding with it. It could be made into a movie. I connect it with her relationship with Nick (and my relationships before my current husband) so it really gets me in the feels. Listening to it feels like a rollercoaster ride down memory lane. It has a little bit of everything and her voice sounds full and strong.

Re: Daydream (88,865) (88,877) by Dove from United States
I think for me Daydream stays at the top for sentimental reasons. It has always been my favorite so I guess I'd feel un-loyal if I brought it down. Also, It reminds me of the last time I was completely happy before my depression started. Drunk? Her voice sounds heavenly - what are you talking about?

Re: The Emancipation of Mimi > E=MC2 (88,864) (88,870) by Dove from United States
I mean, they're both great. I thought I liked E=MC2 a little more but yesterday I listened to TEOM all the way through and I remembered how good it is.

The Emancipation of Mimi > E=MC2 (88,854) by Dove from United States
I've thought about it some more and you guys are right. The Emancipation of Mimi is better than E=MC2.

I stay in love (88,853) by Dove from United States
I Stay In Love came on (my MC playlist) yesterday and I remembered I cried so many tears listening to that song back in the day. I would play it to bring on the tears because sometimes I tend to harden myself and hold my feelings. I have to remind myself I want to be fully alive and feel all spectrum of feelings. Nothing can unleash them like a great song.

Re: MIAMTEC and Caution (88,811) (88,816) by Dove from United States
I'm 35 (will be 36 late next month) and I've been a fan from the start. I first saw VOL on MTV on our wooden console TV when it first came out. My aunt recorded it for me and I would watch it over and over. I would wear a long sleeve black body suit with black stirrup pants and do all the hand movements and (try to) sing all the words. My love for Mariah has only grown since then.

Disclaimer: Just because an album is near or at the bottom doesn't mean I don't love it, because I love them all, but something had to end up at the bottom. But for example I love Rainbow better than anything by Taylor Swift. All of Mariah's albums are great. My list changes every year but right now it looks like this:

01. Merry Christmas
02. Daydream (1995)
03. MIAMTEC (2014)
04. Butterfly (1997)
05. Music Box (1993)
06. E=MC2 (2008)
07. The Emancipation of Mimi (2005)
08. Glitter (2001)
09. Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009)
10. Emotions (1991)
11. Mariah Carey (1990)
12. Caution (2018)
13. Merry Christmas II You (2010)
14. Charmbracelet (2003)
15. Rainbow (1999)

Re: Mariah, Damizza, the car (88,798) by Dove from United States
I've had people get out of moving cars on me twice. The first time was a drug addicted kid who I was taking to a military school type place for troubled youth. The second time was my drunk aunt was was not ready to leave the club yet. I went to pick her up after being alerted she was acting like a fool and falling over drunk. Both times I highly doubt they were trying to end their life. I think they just weren't thinking and really didn't want to go where I was taking them. They were hurt but they didn't die. Not sleeping for many days is almost like being very drunk.

Not that I'm judging her if her thoughts ever did become that dark. I had a moment of not wanting to live once. A long time ago I read somewhere that suicide is more often an act of anger than an act of sadness. Not sure if that's true but looking back I think for me it might have been. I'm embarrassed to say but it was over a guy. It was so many mind games and I was already going through a lot at the time. On top of an underlying depression I've had since middle school.

My ex-husband and I had just separated (the first time) and I was seeing the other guy (who the song The Roof reminds me of). Also, my ex-husband and his bully of a father were not making it easy for me to walk away. They would call me (what felt like) hundreds of times a day threatening me and belittling me and my family. The dad called my aunt (the one from earlier in this story) and my mom to bully them. He called my aunt's work and tried to get her fired. It was awful. They threatened to take my son and never let me see him again. And constantly called me a whore because I was dating someone else.

Then on top of that, the guy I was dating (and was in love with) was playing mind games. It hurt so much and I just wanted it all to be over. That day I got to my breaking point, my young son walked in the room and I snapped out of it. I thought "I can't die, who will love and take care of this kid like I will?" He saved my life. I'm sharing this story because I've been so sad, angry, and frustrated that I just didn't feel like I could do it anymore. I know people have been through way worse than this but sometimes our minds can be very fragile. This was a long time ago but things have gotten a lot better and today I'm glad I'm still here.

Re: MIAMTEC (88,785) (88,797) by Dove from United States
Yeah, that's probably why I like MIAMTEC more. I love Caution too, though. I'm just surprised when people say MIAM was not good because it's top 3 for me.

MIAMTEC (88,770) by Dove from United States
It's funny how people's tastes can be so different. I actually loved MIAMTEC more than Caution.

Walter Afanasieff (88,757) by Dove from United States
Just to be clear, I said someone "like" Walter Afanasieff, not Walter Afanasieff himself.

Mariah retire? (88,756) by Dove from United States
Mariah's albums have never disappointed me. I feel like being in the studio is her forte and she never goes wrong in that area. If she needs to make money she should keep touring but if she's okay with the money she's made, and what she's accomplished so far, she should just relax and travel with her kids and make straight to consumer albums. For fun. Just for herself and the lambs. A lot of us don't love R&B but we'll still support her because we love her voice. But maybe she can throw us a few bones and record an album of standards or jazz or gospel songs. (She could get someone like Walter Afanasief who can knows how to make the computer sound like real instruments.) Before she leaves the record company she should release all the B-sides and unreleased tracks and maybe a collection of her best performances and the Tokyo concert. And any other gems we don't know about. She has to make an announcement that this is what she's doing so us fans can lower our expectations and accept that she's not going to chart anymore, because she can't without the support from the machine.
