Andrew, didn't you know there were a couple of members from the Westboro Baptist Church on this board? I thought you knew. Get a man for them is the equivalent of calling you a f****t, but since Eric wouldn't post it, with tears in their eyes for not being able to spit their hate like they do on the streets, they just say: get a man. And remember, you should feel so bad from that implication that you should close your account and go commit suicide. What I find funny is the fact that some of the gays here were saying: yasss girl, you slayed him. Lol.

So, you think you're French because you uttered the words "Je suis français"? Well, let me go to google and decide where I'm going to be from today: "Я русский". Wow, google allows me to be from anywhere, now I'm Russian. And before your little army of 2.5 followers come in your defense, they should just avoid the embarrassment, you've been exposed.

The thing about releasing only singles is that we might not get those gems that usually come as album cuts. At this stage in Mariah's career, she could definitely take chances, and stop chasing he next hit because with her formula it doesn't seem will happen any time soon. Singles like YM(E), Infinity or I Don't haven't made a good impression. By rehashing the same old tired R&B formula without infusing it with something new like John Legend does, I don't think things are going to work well. With the creative control she has over her music, and since she doesn't rely on album sales to make her money, she could craft an album without worrying about sales and popularity. She makes more money from a couple of concerts that what she would make from her album sales. Out of 200k copies, after everybody is paid and investments have been recouped, she might end up with nothing in her pockets. So, if there's a time for her not to worry about the next big hit and make some experimental stuff, it is now before her voice is completely shot.

I don't understand the use of so much profanity in a post when it is going to be censored anyway, rendering the post unreadable. I could understand if it were a word, but most of a post doesn't make sense to me. This is not in defense or against anybody in particular, it is just annoying when it happens. It also happens when some people post using all caps or when what they have written doesn't make sense because they don't use punctuation.

You're so on point. Why worry about Stella's statements and weird behavior when they're both having a ball while doing it? For me Mariah can start camel-toeing as high as her belly button every day on camera, it's not worth stressing over what she's having fun with. At this point, nothing's weird or with lack class coming from them all surprises me anymore. In the meantime I'm enjoying Ed Sheeran's Divide, a breath of fresh air. Such a great album.

It's not like Mariah doesn't know Crustella's going to make those comments. She agrees with her foul mouth and unprofessional behavior, actually she has adopted some to herself. It seems to be Mariah has finally found her very own Pat Houston. I hope the story doesn't repeat itself. At least it's comforting to know the twins would end up with Nick and his mother.

Licia, I must say that Mariah's version of "The Beautiful Ones" is epic. I expected her to do something similar with "One More Try". "The Beautiful Ones" and "Outside" would be my second and third choice from "Butterfly".

You know Stella aka Edouard would take this as an attack and complain. I would definitely pick Butterfly, Mine Again, and One More Try (not her Minnie Mouse on helium version). I'm pretty sure that back then she would've gone all out with One More Try, vocally that is. But just in case, I would say: Butterfly, Mine Again, and Make It Look Good. I think those three songs wouldn't disrupt the mood of the album. Putting anything too hip hoppy on it wouldn't make much sense.

It's obvious Mariah got cheek implants. I don't see anything wrong with Mariah enhancing herself a little bit with plastic surgery here and there. I just hope she keeps it to a minimal. Mariah doesn't seem to take advantage of a non-invasive procedure that could render her looking super fabulous, and that is exercising. If she exercised regularly, her body would look toned, she would lose weight and be able to walk without help on stage and on the street with those stilettos she wears. Jane Fonda is a great example of being realistic. She felt younger than what her face showed. She got something done on her face not to look that old, but she clearly didn't want to look like Joan Rivers either. I love me some Joan Rivers, but the woman's face was so stretched she didn't resemble her former self at all. RIP Joan, still love you. Even though Mariah is enjoying her newly-found booty, she has lost those long beautiful expensive legs she and the fans used to brag about. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Mariah got her legs cut off and now is using prosthetic ones, I'm just saying that with the weight, she added lost of junk to her trunk, but she also lost those exceptional legs she used to have. And for God sake Mariah, to have been walking on high heels since you were three, you should have a better command of those things. You should walk on them as if you were on flats.

Nikki, I love your unique ability to close your eyes and pretend that the emperor has clothes on. By following your method, when I close my eyes, I can clearly see Mariah's Instagram, Facebook and Official website from 1990-2008. It's full of pictures of Mariah's public display of affection with Tommy, Derek, Luis Miguel, and Nick. I think you're kinda psychic. You should try and see if you can tell when it's going to rain.

When Mariah was with Nick, she was still classy. I would like you to show me a pic of Mariah looking desperate with Nick. She didn't look desperate because she was in love, she was in a real relationship, she was glowing. She wasn't looking for attention back then because she was still very popular riding on the TEOM success and with a very good cohesive and fun album out, with a recent #1, that actually had a fun and great video. That was a different Mariah. Packer and Mariah looked more like business partners, most of their romantic pics lacked taste and were purposely leaked to TMZ by Crustella and Mariah. She hired a photographer to take ridiculous pictures of her and Tanaka at the beach in Hawaii just for the sake of a fake reality TV show, the pics looked ridiculous and laughable. If you want to pretend these tasteless pictures on her Instagram don't make her look like a desperate woman looking for attention, I suggest you open your eyes because that's not the Mariah we experienced up until 2013. That "It" thing that distinguished her from the rest is gone. She's acting just like another Reality TV personality, and not one even remotely close to the Kardashians, rather like one of The Real House Wives.

"She don't" (73,249)
by Edward from USA
| |
|

While I think releasing a series of 3 or 4 singles before a project is OK, these singles should be intended as part of unit, cohesively that is, not just thrown in there for the sake of having them all as a unit for people to purchase. Mariah greatest songs are usually not singles, so having many half-cooked singles out leading up to a project when they are all flopping is not a good idea. If Mariah is not going to put the effort, I don't see the need of being part of a label. If she produced a series of singles leading up to an album like E=MC2, that would definitely be a different scenario. I hope that by shielding herself too much she's not detaching herself from reality. She should know by now that "I Don't" is not going happen.

Billy, that woman in the video talks about many things that make sense, but when she starts talking about conspiracy theories, the Illuminati, how they deactivated Mariah on 2013 to activate Ariana Grande, she lost me. I agree with her on the fact that Mariah could've left Tommy have it through her songs. Probably she wouldn't have gone through the hard time she went through when he was sabotaging her. One doesn't need a diabolical organization like the Illuminati to know there are powerful people in this world that could do harm by pulling strings, Tommy did. If the best the Illuminati can come with to replace Mariah is Ariana or replace Whitney with Brandy, I can definitely see they don't have the magical powers to make things happen some believers think they have. So, when people start talking about these conspiracies and human sacrifices, they lose me. Whitney's demise was expected. I was surprised it didn't happen sooner, given her circumstances. I hope I'm dead wrong, but with Mariah, I have this uneasy feeling. I'm more concerned about something happening to Mariah for mixing alcohol with any bipolar meds she could be taking. Who would've thought Michael and Prince were dealing with drug related problems. I wish Mariah health above all, even if she doesn't sing ever again. I rather she's OK, raise her children, and live a long happy life rather than being miserable surrounded by the leeches she's surrounded herself with lately.

Re: Vocal changes (73,141) (73,146)
by Edward from USA

I don't think you sound naive at all, I actually agree with you. Leaving Tommy gave Mariah freedom, but with that freedom came the late nights, heavy drinking, weed smoking, and being in the presence of people who smoked. She had control over her team not to smoke around her, but she wouldn't have told Puff Daddy not to, he would've checked her (that's if he smoked). Reading Damizza's book, you can see that Puff Daddy wasn't a puppet, he actually didn't want to work with Mariah at first, he though she was wack, but then changed his mind when he worked with her. Mariah got so immersed in that lifestyle, that she forgot about her instrument along the way. She stated that when she used to smoke she prayed to God to give her voice back, and she gained two octaves once she quit. But that was a Mariah without fame, fortune and the world and all vices at her disposal. Once she started hanging out late at night, drinking heavy stuff and smoking weed, there was not turning back. There was not turning back because unlike her victory over smoking, alcohol seems to be one of the demons she deals with, and always seems to win. She's not stupid, she knows why her voice is effed up, but she can't seem to bring herself to quit. Since I've always thought there are two or more sides to every story, and truth usually lies somewhere in the middle, I think there's some truth to what Morgan said about her. I thought he betrayed her, since those are family matters, but I don't think he made those things up. Eminem while embarrassing himself aiming at embarrassing her stated "Like I been going off on you all this time for no reason, girl you out your alcoholic mind." There was not one episode of MW where she wasn't drinking. I think she really have a problem with alcohol.

What should Mariah do now? (73,127) (73,133) (73,138)
by Edward from USA
| |
|

Stacey, isn't it evident? Celine's voice has also changed, but not to the point where she can't sing her own songs anymore. She lips, but when she has to deliver on occasional performances, she gives it her all and delivers. Celine has used her voice twice as much as Mariah. Her first album was released back in 1981 when she was just 14. She's recorded 15 French albums, and 11 English albums. She's toured twice as much, in both languages. It's obvious that taking care of her voice has been a priority throughout her career. At this point, after watching what went on Mariah's World, the lies and pretenses, I think she lost a lot of credibility, and it has made me question whether some of the things she's always complained about through the years were 100% true. Nobody, unless you're Adele or Taylor Swift, is making money from albums. Mariah makes more from a few concerts than what she makes from an album, and I understand that. She's out to make money, but it is sad to see she's not out to make great music anymore.

I'm with you on that. She should release "Kick Rocks" or one of those songs she has in her vault. It doesn't necessarily have to be a single, just something to keep us entertained in the meantime. I'm pretty sure many of her unreleased songs are way better than most of the things she's been putting out lately. When "Help Me Make It" was leaked, it was a great surprise. "100%" wasn't a hit, but it was definitely well received. I have a friend who just heard "Almost Home" a week ago for the first time, and he told me he's falling in love with her music all over again. Since most people don't stay or watch the end credits of movies, most people were not exposed to "Almost Home". This time my friend decided to leave the movie playing on until her song started playing at the end. That's to prove that she doesn't really need hits to connect with her audience. She just needs great lyrics and an honest delivery.

I also suspect that she had vocal surgery around '97. I personally think that vocal surgery wouldn't do anything for her if she doesn't lay the booze and the weed down. We've come to lower our expectations so much, anything is considered good these days. It's sad, but it is what it is. And the thing is that she gets on stage and she really thinks she's killing it because she goes an octave up here and there or because she hits a whistle note. Everything these days sound choppy, but who am I to complain? If these Dubai performances are great for the fans, that should be it.

Eric, wow. The same sentiment here. I first heard Mariah singing "I Don't Wanna Cry", but I thought it was Whitney Houston. I didn't hear anything else from her up until one day in school. I was bored, put my headphones on while in class, and was listening one of the two stations that played music in the English language in my country back then. Then I heard that voice, the voice of an angel, it was Mariah singing "Open Arms". I was like: Who the hell is that? I spent the next day listening to the same station trying to catch her again, and there she was again, but this time the DJ said her name. I went to the store and got "Daydream". That's how everything started. Every time I listened to that album I was taken into a surreal world. Listening to her was like listening to an angel, I would just close my eyes and let go. I went back to the store to inquire a little bit more about her, and then that's when I realized the woman had already released "Mariah Carey", "Emotions", "MTV Unplugged" and "Music Box", I didn't see Merry Christmas. Out of the four, I got "Music Box", and as I discovered all the past hits, I knew I had found the one I would be fan of for life. After that I purchased the rest of the albums, Merry Christmas being the last one. Those who didn't experienced those golden years won't ever understand it just by listening to her CD's. That's why many of us expect decent and well crafted projects from her. She got us used to it. Sometimes some of us come hard on her, but it is just out of frustration because we know the woman is gifted and can definitely do better. Back then it was about the voice, the songs, the lyrics, and I felt butterflies in my stomach every time a new single or album was on the way. It was a magical era.

She definitely had some minor procedure done. Yes, there's contouring, but you can contour but so much. I remember when the sheep went with Mariah's tale as to why her boobs were bigger over night. She candidly explained that her boobs got bigger due to some magical push-up bras she only knew about, lol. Many people here on MCArchives Messageboard back then were burned alive, some disappeared and other were cyber-decapitated for stating it was bullshit. Maybe, just maybe, in the future, if she says her nose has been out for years, the sheep would then put the contour theory to rest. Wait a minute, it could actually be contouring, since Contourella is her manager. Wow, I had an Contour-epiphany. Remember that Mariah's nose looked like that because "Contouring" was invented by the first quarter of 1995. Stella looks like a bat with her contouring though, sorry to those little creatures for the comparison.

Exactly, he was more than a dancer and a vocalist, he was a genius. He was a visonary and a great lyricist. His videos were epic. Besides his voice, people went to see the show, the super production. He was a real showman, just like Madonna and Beyonce are in their concerts. Mariah and Whitney on the other hand relied on their voices, they couldn't dance, but they could sing you out of the stadium with their powerful voices. Once Whitney lost her voice, she didn't have anything to entertain with anymore and people started walking out of her concerts. People go to Mariah's concerts to hear her voice and her songs. There's nothing special about her cheap stage and her dancers, with the exception of her Christmas shows. It's like Sarah Mclaughlin. I love the woman, but she only has her voice. People go to see her on her piano singing with that beautiful voice of hers. She doesn't dance or do anything else. Now imagine if she started faking her piano playing and lipping most of her songs? Total disaster.
