The Stella/Mishka storyline during MC's life story would be a screenwriter's goldmine. Meryl Streep and Mayim Bialik could play the dynamic duo. Let's throw in Zac Efron to play Tanaka.

Y'all must really be trolling because when Stella was in charge of Mariah's business Mariah's image was down in the gutters. It took years for RocNation to build her back up to the legend status that she truly should have been all along. Stella really had her going around LA in her damn bodysuits and put her in a reality show that was a through and through mess. Also not y'all out here missing a thief who stole from Mariah. Bye. Mariah doesn't need Stella's chunky highlighter and cheap leather jackets in her world. I'd rather her not be "relevant".

I agree with the ideally she should date someone closer to her age and some who is on the same or similar level of success as her. If Dwayne Johnson wasn't married haha he would be my top pick for Mariah. Dude is successful, good looking, her age range and adores Mariah.

I completey agree. Great post. I don't buy the kids argument too. Mariah always said that after Roc and Monroe there will be no more children. So there must be something else. And yes, a real partner would be better than just an admirer.

Moving forward, I think Mariah needs to date people closer to her own age and who don't give off the "fanboy" vibes. This is the second time that a relationship with someone significantly younger than her hasn't worked out. Nick and Tanaka both always came off as very adolescent and starstruck about Mariah. Mariah needs someone to be an equal partner, not a fawning admirer. I'm not sure she would like a partner like that, but it's what we all need.
It wasn't realistic for Tanaka to expect to have children with someone who is divorced with two pre-teen children in her early to mid 50s. They should have ended the relationship a while ago if that was an expectation. Tanaka is also 40 years old himself. I'm not sure I buy the "he wants kids" argument.
Maybe Mariah just got bored?

Cool response from Adele. I like her even more that she doesn't feel the need to do a trend for some kids. I get sick if I just hear the word Tik Tok. Lol. I hope Mariah will do her thing without that stupid app too. Good music is needed, nothing more. The best thing about a certain age and mature is that you don't have to follow all stupid trends. A grown-up is above those things.

To that I say look up Adele's response to the record company suggesting she should do a song for the TikTok audience. Mariah's older songs go viral on that app without pandering to them, so I don't think this is something she should focus on. She's happier maing music that she likes/wants to make, and if it goes viral, so be it.

I really like this one, I know no comparison to her other [Christmas] songs. But I think it's really fun and I like that "Run Run Rudolph" Rock and Roll vibe. "Christmas time is in the air again" is my favourite right now. So classy and dreamy. "When [Christmas] comes" is another favourite. What are your actual [Christmas] favourites?

That could be one reason. Plus "Obsessed" is so untypical for a Mariah single. I remember when "It's like that" came out, a lot of friends told me it didn't sound like a Mariah song. With "We belong together" they were fine.

If Mariah doesn't make it to number one this week I am sure that it will be number one before Christmas. I love Mariah and I love her Christmas song and I hope it hits number one before Christmas. Brenda's song is nice too. If they can share for instance one be number one one week and then the other the next it doesn't take anything away from Mariah. She can't be number one forever. And I realize that. Here's to Mariah and Brenda.

by MusicfanJ from Germany

I have seen so many versions of "If it's over", maybe I have it on my laptop. But I'm too lazy to check it. The background of the performance and the video somehow seemed "new" to me, so it's okay if you're all shocked. But I remember East 17 with "Stay another day" and "It's alright" they were huge in the good old Bundesrepublik Deutschland too. The good 90ies, I miss them. They were so much better compared to today not only chartwise. And we could go carefree to Christmas markets, I'm depressed because what's going on here since 2015. I'll stop it here and say something nice. It's snowing right now. It looks like a winter wonderland. I saw the new video with Brenda in a morning show. It was nice. Mariah and Brenda could do a Rockabilly Christmas song together. Would be fun. We have a Justin Bieber version, why not something with Brenda Lee?

Rockin' Around (104,381)
by Andrew from the UK

Yuh-huh. "Rockin Around the Christmes Tree" I might call a "cute little ditty". I know it from Home Alone and wasn't exactly enthralled by it then. It's no "I Love Sausage Rolls". Doesn't even come close to that masterpiece.
Thought it might be fun for non-Brits to watch the video for "Stay Another Day" by East 17: this is the song that, 29 years ago, kept Mariah from being the UK Christmas No.1 (I cried). Check out the masterpiece music video. Considering it's a song about suicide, again "I Love Sausage Rolls" it isn't. Which ought to feature a warning that it might make you want to commit suicide.
MusicFanJ is given a free pass for the (shocking) oversight of never having seen Mariah sing "If It's Over" at the Grammys, for, I believe, "All I Want For Christmas Is You" also reached Number 2 at Christmas in 1994 in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Y'know, back when charts were quite simple and meant something and not full of ridiculous calculations that you'd need a doctorate to understand win an entire album of tracks from one artist comprising an entire top 10.
I'd feel old saying that. But I still look young and beautiful.

I have a huge Stevie collection too. I started to listen because he's Mariah's favourite. His number ones are often played on the radio, so I knew I liked his music. "That girl" and Mariah, that's cool. By the way great topic. I also own the movies "Pretty in Pink" and "Mean Girls" because of Mariah. Plus I have many things about New York and books. This year I even have an NY advent calendar (gift from a friend). One more thing, I also have great admiration for Marilyn Monroe. And I bought Tupacs best of CD, because Mariah is a "fan".

Hi Tevin, thanks for your suggested songs by Taylor. I liked them all but "Dear John" is my favourite. I always say I want a jazz album by Mariah which I still do. Her natural alto voice is shining through more when she speaks. Her voice reminds me of her 90s interviews. I think that a vocal coach or Mary Ann told her to limit her intake of alcohol this summer and see how your vocal range returns. It was evidence on most of Caution. I am anticipating that we will get more of her alto range with heavier tones and less belting on the new album.
