Now that Fantasy routine she always does on tour with the damn chair is a late hot ass mess. Enwar00, I ain't gon even sit up here and lie to the lambily. It wasn't even cute in 97 IMO, but that's neither here nor there. However I will agree with the others, that the choreography for Honey, Breakdown, and Heartbreaker was cute, kinda comical initially, but entertaining and memorable nevertheless. So I wouldn't mind see her move a little something in her new videos, as long as she doesn't try to do too much and just keep it cute, it'd work for her. I'll take it over laying down with the wind machine for sure.

There Goes My Heart (Again) (40,940)

I never mentioned how much I love this song. I know she whispers her butt off on this one , but to me that register emotes a certain vulnerability that suits the song perfectly. The music and the way she sings in the whistle register at the end, is just so special and one of a kind to me.

Hey sugar plum. I believe I've profusely expressed my undying love for the fabulous "Do You Think Of Me" in a previous post to you (40,539), but isn't it a stone groove darling? A true gem I say. Right along with Slipping Away. Two of my many favorite unreleases by our queen. A song from another artist I would love to see Mimi cover is "Reach Out And Touch" by the supreme diva herself Miss Diana Ross (the boss), I'll also take a studio version of Love Hangover please and thank you.

Mimi and B (40,913)

Mimi: Ikr this whole ordeal has been a huge embarrassment of a mess and it's all your fault darling! No, I'm just joking love. Atleast we've all cleared that air and managed to actually agree on something. Yay lambs united. B: Im sorry again boo, I initially thought you were male, but somehow the notion got lost in midst of the trainwreck. Haha. Lets just start completely over. Any-who I love you both even more now.

(Clutches pearls and bats eyelashes.) Why that was sweet of you darling! Thanks for clearing that up because I was totally lost and hadn't put two and two together. But after reading your explanation, I believe you may be correct in your assumption. And if infact Ms B was referring to me, then I redirect my message to her and will also add that calling my opinion on an album and vocal style (in which I voiced respectfully) "bleak and ignorant" is quite childish and unnecessary. You don't have to agree, but there's no need to be rude and desrespectful about your difference in opinion. Sidenote: I loved Charmbracelet and Memoirs, and probably listen to and enjoy songs from those albums more than the others. Do I want her to whisper through a whole album? No. But I do appreciate that register and just want to acknowledge that. I love when Mariah uses every part of her voice effectively, and wouldn't want her to just sing one way all the time. Whether it's belting, whistling, or whispering. The fact that she has so many different colors and textures to her voice is the reason she's my favorite singer of all time in the first place.

My dearest darling. I seriously doubt the fabulous B was referring to me, because for one we've never had an exchange and secondly I don't post "ignorance or bleakness". Just thought I'd chime in. Carry on my dear.

Bad reviews (40,863)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
| |
|
|
Those reviews for Charmbracelet were bogus IMO. Just because she chose to use her softer register on that album didn't mean her voice was gone. She's always used her airy voice here and there (Can't Let Go, So Blessed, Looking In, a great portion of Butterfly, Bliss, etc). It actually takes vocal skills to sing like that whether folks love it or hate it. Her upper register and belting voice sound very healthy and full on that album (Through The Rain, Saving Grace, Subtle Invitation, even Clown had a pow vocal climax), but to each its own. If it inspired Mimi to comeback swinging then I'm not mad. Note: Mariah's vocals has always been criticize whether they said she was over singing or undersinging. I vaguely remember one Music Review review saying she sounds like "Aretha Franklin through a strain microphone (or speaker)" and that album sold over 30 million. So like seriously what are you gonna do? She'll always be criticized no matter what.

Ok lets not do Nas (40,824)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia

I love you Issac darling, but a talent of Nas caliber could never be considered irrelevant. The guy is a lyrical genius and has nothing but the upmost respect of the entire industry. He's not called the street disciple for any reason. I would recommend you listen to a few of his albums, particularly God's Son and It Was Written and tell me he doesn't slay 99.9% of rappers today. Like some say he's legendary and exactly who Mariah should be working with. It's always a good look to have him one your album.

Now a new color yes. I wouldn't mind jet black or just another natural hair color she's never had, but the length is already perfect. She should not cut it short, like ever.

The hair (40,780)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
| |
|
|
I agree with Issac. People should really get off the hair thing. Mariah's hair is her signature and it's always on point. I wouldn't even want to see her with short hair anyway. It'll end up coming off as contrived and she'll probably end up putting in extensions like Beyonce did anyway. If she wore a different wig in a video or two, I wouldn't mind, but changing her look like Madonna and Rihanna has never been her thing and would look desperate and gimmicky at this point.

New album title (40,741)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
| |
|
|
I thought TAOLG was a brilliant album title, but I must agree that it has to go now darlings, only because its been too long. "Mariah" would've been a good album title, but God forbid folks think she's copying Beyonce. So I say it should just be the title of the best song of the album and hopefully it's a title that sums up everything well.

Did you really have to go in like that? Out of all the positive discussions you jump at the opportunity to read Mimi. N,o her voice ain't the same, but she still has great moments that are just as good as the 90s IMO. So don't try to do my girl like she's over and her voice is done.

Whitney cover (40,666)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
| |
|
|
I trust and believe Mariah would not be covering a Whitney song if she wasn't prepared to slay it! And I can see it, like others said the vocals are basic on that particular song and MC's studio vocals have been powerful and strong as of late, if Almost Home, Pulse Remix and TAOLG are any indications. The whole media comparison is gonna happen anyway, even if she slays Whitney's version the majority will be biased to the original. So we may as well come to terms with that and respect the bigger picture, which is one queen paying tribute and showing respect to another queen.

Sick of us? (40,610)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia

No shade Webmaster from Netherlands, but I don't think you should ever go off on someone that supports your website, or use words such as "sick of" in reference to them, unless they're a troll in which you would be able to regulate their activity. Even though my perspective is that you should, for the most part, be an unbiased mediator, I understand that you want to express your thoughts as well. I just believe as webmaster we don't expect you to criticize or jump on us because of a difference in opinion, that's all. I love you though.

Real vs fairweather (40,608)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
| |
|
|
Okay guys and gals, lets clear one thing up. Just because some lambs stop posting on here or visiting this particular message board does not mean that they are or ever were a "fair-weather fan". Being a dedicated loyal fan has nothing to do with posting here. Have some of you ever stopped to think perhaps they've stopped visiting or posting because of the bad energy or negativity some of you give off? To be fair, everyone should be allowed to voice their opinion on here across the board whether good bad or indifferent, but sometimes people are overly critical and they appear to just come on here to rant. Understand that not everybody wants to constantly come here just to see you complain about Mariah. Believe it or not everyone is a critic, even the most "obsessed" lambs may not love every single thing Mariah had ever done, but they express that in a respectful way from time to time. Don't think just because you're overtly vocally critical about every move she makes, that you are more of a "realistic" real fan. We all want Mariah at her best.

Edward and Isaac (40,544)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
| |
|
|
Awww thanks Edward, that meant a lot coming from you boo. If we all know one thing, it's that Edward never lies. Lol. And you're exactly right, she poured her soul into CB. It came on the heels of one of the lowest most vulnerable points of her career, so like Licia I really connected with her on this one. Which is why I considered it the last real Mariah Carey album. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed everything that followed and she even gave me CB moments with FLAB, I Wish You Well, and Languishing. But with those album she had gotten her swag back and it seemed more about singing a certain way and making radio friendly hits. That's all fine, I get it, we all love her mid, full, and belting voice, but I just want her to leave her heart and soul on the floor with this next album and just do Mariah. Which brings me to Isaac: with this new album I just want some real heartfelt music, with great meaningful lyrics whether she's belting to the top of her lungs or whispering a sweet lullabies to dem babies. (She always mixes it up anyway.) I just want to feel her. I agree "The Art Of Letting Go" set the perfect tone for me, I hope she gives more raw heartfelt ballads on that level with a the perfect blend of stone grooves in the mix.

Hey there Lamby! I absolutely adore "Do You Think Of Me". Are you kidding me? The vocals, the musical transitions, all the way up to the trumpets at the end. I consider "Do You Think of Me" "Everything Fades Away" younger equally beautiful sister. Could you imagine all the hidden treasures MC has from that era? Ugh. What I would give to hear them. I see great minds think alike and have similar great taste in MC's catalogue.

Re: Will / Charmbracelet aka the masterpiece (40,536)

Loath it all you want chop. I will continue to praise the album and make a statement of my own opinion. When did I say you had to love the album? I just simply defended the album, because I feel it's been unfairly trashed. Why are you so bothered? You're the one that's upset that not everyone agrees with you. So why don't you just learn how to deal with the fact that some of us think it's one of her best albums regardless of your negative view on it, and I promise you'll be a lot happier.

How are you going to tell us to calm down, when you're the one that's going off. Sweetie, if you want to hate on Charmbracelet, be my guess. It won't change my love and opinion if it. And your description couldn't be any further from the truth darling. Just because you don't care for the album, doesn't mean you have to trash it. As a lamb you should be happy somebody loves it; instead of trying to convince us that it wasn't the stellar album it truly is. Smooches!

Charmbracelet (40,523)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
| |
|
|
Charmbracelet was the last [...] Mariah Carey album straight up. Eveything afterwards was Mimi, and damn it I want my Mariah back on this new album. I will never understand why so many lambs write this album off. This album was more personal than Butterfly for me, the lyrics were deep, meaningful and poetic, she sung with so much emotion and caressed every song with sincerity, and the musicality was just brilliant. Many are missing out on a true gem, by descrediting that album.

Lets not do "Charmbraclet" darling. That album was devine my dear, simply devine. Through The Rain, You Got Me, I Only Wanted, Clown, Saving Grace, Had Your Chance, Bringing On The Hearbreak, Subtle Inviattion. This is easily one of her best albums on a musical level, the whispery vocals were heavenly, and her belts where gorgeous and crystal clear. The tryzation has reached the max, you all need to [...] it.

The weather (40,373)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
| |
|
|
She also sung a much slower song, took her time, had proper breath control, and was more prepared. She never said the weather was the "only" factor that affected her voice (in which if you don't take necessary precautions it can affect your voice), but I also cited many other factor aswell, and also mentioned when she's properly rested and recuperated that she can still give a great performance. So you still can't say the weather, tempo, breath control, and fragility of her voice had nothing to do with that performance being bad. Nevertheless I'm glad she preserved this go round. Great job Mimi!
