Something also tells me that there may be a Rainbow EP to go along with her usually Pride merchandise in her store in June. MC said during a recent interview with RetroPop's Connor Gotto that other things are coming as well to go along with Rainbow and she is looking into whether Angels Advocate can finally be released. I think the problem people are having is that it is nothing really new or fresh - it is the same mid tempo/slow RnB that she and JD have done to death. If rumours are to be believed, MC16 will have a different sound - more pop and dance focused which will be good for her to get back into mainstream audiences. The 'Yes, And' remix, had it been the original song it would have surely topped the charts with Ariana's first single pull and with the lambs also being onboard. Adding Mariahisms to older songs on their way out is what people are more against, I feel. I appreciate the fact that Ariana wanted Mariah's voice front and center even though it didn't work out as well as it should have. Shows the love and respect she has for 'mother' as she put it. Lets see if the new rumour about their next collaboration is true. It's supposed to be an original, not a remix. It could have been on any Mariah album, very reminiscent of other JD and BMC Mariah songs like [We belong together] and [Don't forget about us]. I will definitely be hearing this over the original (same like I do with Yes, And and Big Energy). Mariah sounds good, I wish it were a little longer. I mean we all knew exactly what the song sounds like anyway and with the [Billboard] remix rule, we weren't up for any surprises. Muni and Mariah remix (106,469) by Terna from Nigeria This wasn't planned well. The core of this song is its strong, loud and vocal chorus in contrast to the sublime reflective verses. It got too loud, too fast on the first chorus with Mariah singing the tenor part of the chorus. That should've been done in her falsetto voice or left out entirely (former preferred) and only after her introduction which was her verse, should she have sung in full voice the same part. Mariah sounds good and smooth which is a plus and her belts are getting better and closer to what she used to sound like. Three out of 5 stars. (Wednesday 22 May 2024; 10:11)

Mariah reminder (106,450) by Randy from USA As someone who has been hard on MC about not addressing her voice, I was in my feelings this past weekend and went in listening to her music and rewatched her interview with Oprah in 2020. I forgot all the things she's been through. Being dirty and unkept. The girls calling her the N-word and mulatto bitch. Alison throwing the tea in her face. Alison trying to have her pimped out. Alison offering her coke. Tommy holding a knife to her throat. Her mother having her arrested. Her mother telling her you'll never be as good a singer as me. Yes, I'd like to know what happened to the voice. Yes, I'd like her to stop lipping and start doing things in her current register. But I am glad this woman is still alive and here with us. Muni Long remix (106,403) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Keeping hope for the remix but I think it's once again a bad strategy. That song was most popular when it was a viral TikTok trend. It has since been replaced by "Espresso". Although Save Your Tears remix became huge even after happening a year later I doubt this will be the case for MC because Ariana and Weeknd are two of the biggest streaming artists so their combined fandom is what got the song to the top. Lol I was so hopeful of the Ariana collab that this time around I'm keeping my expectations low. I wish it was an original song, not a remix. (Monday 13 May 2024; 02:12)

I don't quite see the original on the Hot 100 as they only show top 20 positions. RA when did this song hit its peak? Is it falling right now? I don't want it to be another "Yes, And" situation with her hopping on to a dying song and it only going to the lambs. Apparently it will be sent to radio next week, maybe Def Jam might just put some weight behind it. I love her collaborating with these current female singers but I wish they were original collaborations and not remixes of old songs. Although the Weekend's "Save your tears" remix with Ariana came after nearly a year and that did so well. I think Mariah is trying to warm the general public up with these collaborations before hitting us with MC16. The lead single I think will come atleast 2 months after this release now. I can't find anything on the web that would make them hold out for a specific reason. The only two things that I can conclude is that they know that MME is about get even bigger and they are giving Def Jam time to make a physical CD and vinyl to sell right after its release. Mariah was still around her peak (tail end) and was only around 30 with a majority of her career ahead of her. JLo was at her lowest popularity/ commercial success point before this album. It's like a bad ending to her career since she said this was most likely her last album. A final nail on her coffin. I don't think anybody or even she herself are thinking about she should come back from this. I'm not a fan but not a hater. Whereas I didn't mind her being exposed (being a lamb) I hope she was at least pleased herself with her last project. I don't know why I feel like Mariah is poised/ gearing up for another favourable era. I'd be happy if she cracks the top 20 on the Hot100 again with her own material (with or without a guest but not as a feature herself). Why everybody hates the girl we don't know (106,377) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway This is a really interesting video made by a very talented youtuber, it's over two hours long and a comprehensive dive into the downfall of Jennifer Lopez. The reason I share it is because Mariah is mentioned quite a bit, and in this JLo debacle, after her album, movie and the documentary about making of the movie have tanked worse than even Mariah's own vanity project, Glitter, Mariah is portraid as somewhat a hero. Mariah was right about JLo all along. While Mariah managed to bounce back in 2005 with one of the biggest comebacks in music history, because Mariah actually has talent, I just can't se how JLo will come back from this, it's career ending stuff happening now. Everything has been exposed the last few weeks, that she steals other people's music, dosen't sing her own songs, everything her being from the "block" is fake, she might be the most rude and mean celebrity there is, there's just no authenticity, and everything is out there now. Turned out to be the Muni Long one. Here are another couple of interesting things they are claiming: 1. The Audible BFL session is a prelude. She's managed a contract with a streaming giant for the rest of it finally. In another post they said Vevo is teaming up with a great female artist for a special series of performances. 2. Mariah x Ariana (again). Not sure whether it's for BFL or MC16 (if true). I think we have some interesting times ahead - 2 of which are confirmed, the Muni Long remix and the Audible session. A Daydream release in 2024 (106,282) by Shezz from Pk Haha Mimi L has been paying attention to Taylor's lyrics. To be honest I quite liked Folklore and Evermore. Midnights grew on me. All the songs on this album are pleasant but tend to blur into one long two hour song. I read an interview of her's (Taylor) recently where she said she knows her years are numbered now that she's crossed 30 and she wants to work as hard as possible and create as much music as she can while she's still popular. I didn't quite know how to feel about that. On one hand I appreciated her awareness, on the other hand I felt like she's making herself into the fast food equivalent of music. Of course every artist wants success and thrives on it but it felt like commercial success is paramount to her before all. Which then lead me to think this was Mariah in the 90s. She created the most albums, most regularly while she was commercially successful. When they stopped selling as much, she slowed down majorly. I suppose that's human nature (and business). I enjoy a few of her songs and I do think she's talented but her PR team and fans put her on this god like pedestal which is too much. I feel like her material is the same as when she was 16 only with a more polished writing. I find it amazing how she continues to bash people and no one bats an eye. In the new album she again brings up Kim K and says her mom wished Kim was dead and I thought wow imagine if someone said that about her. Same with her bashing Matty Healy (that guy from what I have seen is a thorough mess) but at the same time she is lashing out at her fans for being shocked about his relationship with her, asking them to stop "bitching and moaning" and calling them names. She knows her songs send her fans in a frenzy to go attack her exes and she makes sure they know which ex she's talking about by putting specific clues in her songs and then pretending to be shocked when they decode it. She talks multiple times about cheating on her partners but then is pissed when her partner does the same to her and her fans also just causally forget that she is also doing something wrong. Uhmmm Mimi's deep cuts are MIA (106,156) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Did we get the full set list? I'm surprised there's no DFAU. She could have done a medley of One and Only and So Lonely. I saw she started with VOL. That's odd since the show is supposed to be a celebration of TEOM and she had ILT, SIO as perfect openers. Was there a reason behind her doing older songs for a majority of the show and then TEOM later? If so why no songs from albums after TEOM? All things aside she looks stunning, the gold dress she wears at the beginning of the TEOM set was beautiful and very TEOM coded. What I loved about some of the videos are that she was walking around by herself and even did a mini almost sprint. All these visually creates a more engaging show rather than using dancers as crutches. So she'll only get better. I hope with each show she also stops relying too much on the teleprompter but as always her shows getting better with more dates. The stage looks nice and moody very TEOM coded. To be fair, it is her current voice - I think it's clear now she's not getting her confidence back to sing them live. Her voice sounds good though. She looked great, not as stiff as her first Christmas shows, she'll only get better on stage. In Without You, I think she sings to a back track first, but sings live some parts of the chorus, it's hard to tell, she has gotten much better at lip synching. Someone subtweeted the insiders post talking about how Mariah's music is coming soon and she has a video ready with big stars and hasn't rested at all.
