Guess I was right, lol. X-Factor bosses threw Mariah's name into the mix to get Nicole to sign her contract.

Mariah looks great in the newest pics I've seen (Mother's Day and Dem Babies birthday). If she had anything done it isn't noticeable, lol.

Re: LA Reid out, Mariah in trouble? (75,251) (75,257) by B from USA
If Epic had to cut a legacy artist from their rooster I honestly believe they would drop J.Lo before they dropped Mariah. Mariah was their biggest selling act for a decade and her back catalogue is still brining in money. Mariah's biggest (and most popular) songs including AIFCIY were released while she was with Sony/Columbia. I'd think they want to ensure she makes a comeback to increase the sells of her back catalogue. It wouldn't make sense. Besides they'd lose money if they dropped because they'd have to buy her out like Virgin did (best believe she has this clause in every contract she signs, turns out Tommy was good for something, lol). She's only released two singles for Epic and they both charted on the Hot 100 (without any label support, no iTunes banner, and no Clear Channel deal) and the views for the second video are almost triple the views of the first.

Re: Mariah and LA Reid (75,253) (75,256) by B from USA
Mariah's deal isn't in jeopardy. It's clear who's behind this and the other rumor that contradicted his previous story (he said Epic had heard I Don't and wanted to release it to change the narrative after the NYE debacle and then he claimed they hadn't heard the song and that Mariah basically gave them the song and demanded they release it). Cindy. Roger is a Cindy loyalist. I now understand why some of y'all thought Tommy was behind this but think about it. Roger would praise Mariah even if her albums or singles weren't selling when she worked with Cindy and now that she no longer is Roger has been dragging her.

Re: Reid for Mariah's manager (75,188) (75,242) by B from USA
Even though he is no longer at Epic I believe LA will executive produce Mariah's new album and do whatever he can to help make it a success. His reputation is kind of riding on the success of her first official studio album for Epic because he signed her. If the album tanks he'll be blamed and it will be another blemish on his resume and his ego is as big as Mariah's.

Re: Mariah and plastic surgery (75,211) (75,241) by B from USA
If she was planning on having a face altering surgery she would have entered and exited from the back instead of walking out the front door. She most likely had a filler injected or some botox done because her face looks a little swollen in the pictures. Personally, I don't think she needs fillers and it's obvious it's Stella's influence that is causing her to use fillers. I really hope she doesn't think that Stella looks good because her surgeon did a horrid job which she unfortunately highlights with her overuse of blush and contouring.

Re: How 650 million can get messed up (75,219) (75,240) by B from USA
Mariah's own her penthouse in NY and sold her homes in LA and the Bahammas after divorcing Nick, correct? She's leasing or renting the Calabassases home and she probably stays in those Air B&Bs or whatever their called for free because every time she does there are countless articles about the mansion she's staying in. What other homes does she still own? I'm almost certain she sold both of the homes she purchased while married to Nick (the LA manor and her island getaway I mentioned above).

Wasn't he the head of IDJ during the TEOM, E=MC2, and MOAIA eras?

Re: Billboard's 2017 Power 100 (75,227) (75,238) by B from USA
I would love to see her reunite with Irving. Did Randy have any experience in management before Mariah hired him? JD was in debt and about to lose his mansion in Atlanta when Mariah hired him. I understand why she hired him but it was a poor decision. The man can't even manage his own finances. I also hate that he laid most of the blame for MIAM's failure on Mariah and yet he was her manager, a collaborator she'd taken advice from before, and a friend. MIAM failed because of the multiple delays and poor single choices. Mariah needs to play her new album for fans like she did Charmbracelet and allow them to chose her first (or second single) or at least take their responses to the songs into consideration before choosing a single. I think IDJ chose You're Mine (Eternal) as the second single from MIAM because they wanted to replicate the success of Its Like That and We Belong Together. However, they dropped the ball by not securing the song a Clear Channel deal like #Beautiful. If the song had received the same treatment from IDJ that #Beautiful did it would have charted higher on both the R&B chart and the Hot 100.

Re: Article: X Factor bosses in secret talks with Mariah Carey (75,212) (75,220) by B from USA
I agree. Simon, who created X-Factor and is an executive producer, wouldn't allow another panelist to blatantly disrespect a living legend like Nigel did. He also wouldn't promise her a three person panel and blindside her by adding a fourth judge to the panel before the ink had dried on her contract. I don't think Mariah was upset that they chose Minja. I think she was upset that she was lied to and that Nigel and his cronies convinced Minja that Mariah's issue were with her. They knew it would create drama which was what they wanted, it was obvious the moment they announced she was joining AI as a judge. She had no place on a panel that judges singers since she isn't a singer. Besides Mariah isn't as big in the UK as she is in the US and I don't see them paying her $18 million and she won't accept less than that, don't delude yourselves into thinking she would. She's regained her relevancy in the UK with her well received tour and Without You is her only UK #1. If she does I just hope she doesn't adopt a faux English accent like Madonna did.

Re: Article: X Factor bosses in secret talks with Mariah Carey (75,214) (75,216) by B from USA
I think the bosses are using Mariah's name to get Nicole to sign on. Nick left her for Mariah. Best believe those guys aren't above leaking a lie that would infuriate someone to get them to do what they want.

Re: Possible TM and MC reunion (75,213) (75,215) by B from USA
I know these Tommy conspiracies are ridiculous. I have hope that Sylvia will tell Mariah she needs to update her signature and that Mariah releases a modern day Daydream/Butterfly hybrid. She said she was pouring her heart and soul into MIAM and it was her best album since TEOM. E=MC2 is a good album but her work with JD (with the exception of Thanx 4 Nothin') were weak attempts at recreating We Belong Together (Love Story, I Stay In Love, and Last Kiss). MIAM weakest song is Thirsty and it's at least enjoyable.

Re: Possible TM and MC reunion (75,194) (75,209) by B from USA
Sony fired Tommy. Read Vanity Fairs profile on him before Mariah divorced him. He schemed to get where he got, he stabbed his mentor in the back to become the figure head of Sony. He's one of the most hated men in the industry and that had nothing to do with Mariah and their issues. Why do you think he was heading another big label after all that success? He screwed Sony over by sabotaging Glitter which was the catalyst for Mariah's exit and even though they let Mariah out of her contract they retained the rights to selling Glitter in Japan. Lets not forget to mention Sony is a Japanesse company and Mariah is beloved there. Why do you think Packer dragged her to his business meeting there while they were together and once their relationship was over his employees were detained (read Vanity Fairs profile on Packer)? Sylvia is considered the front-runner. Tommy had nothing to do with this. Mariah probably doesn't even care about the vanity label anyways so if that is the aspect of her deal that's at stake she probably doesn't care. She's too busy to be the head of a label anyeays. She's got to entertain the Russians with her antics.

Re: How 650 million can get messed up (75,196) (75,208) by B from USA
Thankfully, she bought the rights to her back catalogue from Sony in 2005. She could live comfortably for the rest of her life off of those royalties alone.

Re: LA Reid replacement (75,189) (75,191) by B from USA
Sony fired Tommy. Tommy heads Casablanca Records and despite his ability to create stars he was unable to turn Lindsay Lohan into a singing star despite the fact that at the time she was already a movie star and could actually sing (sort like J.Lo except she could sing). He also failed to help his wife Thalia cross over. He didn't turn Celine into a star, Rene did. He helped Mariah but she put in the work and despite his sabotaging of the Glitter era she was able to make one of biggest comebacks in history. LA just suggested Mariah work with JD again (which was a no-brainer after 2004 he was once again the hottest producer on the planet, thanks to Usher's Confessions). Mariah needs to work with fresh producers and writers that aren't stuck in the mid 2000's.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey visits cosmetic surgery centre (75,183) (75,190) by B from USA
I doubt she'd alter her face, I know she had a nose job early in her career, but I don't see her wanting to look like Stella. I know she has insecurities but she is too vain to mess her face up like MJ. If she is considering surgery my money is on a breast lift or reduction and a tummy tuck. Her body isn't in bad shape but her breasts make her look top heavy. She's naturally tan and lean and althetic [sic] looking but since giving birth she looks like the weight of her breast are going to topple her over.

Re: LA Reid replacement (75,182) (75,185) by B from USA
She's also wooing Mariah after the Virgin buyout. I know I spelled Elektra wrong, oh well. If she was willing to sign Mariah after Glitter she's obviously a fan and knows her potential and thinks she can help her. Not worried.

Re: Article: Mariah filming HBO documentary, "A butterfly in Vegas" (75,160) (75,168) by B from USA
I think this is (was) what Stella proposed to Mariah and why she agreed and unfortunately it led to Mariah's World because Stella wants so desperately to turn herself into the next Kris Jenner and Miskha into Kendall.

Re: Sylvia Rhone (75,164) (75,167) by B from USA
She was wooing Mariah when she left Sony. Unfortunately, she was outbid by Nancy Berry and Virgin. I think she's a fan of Mariah's and I think unlike Reid she won't tolerate Stella which is a bonus since Mariah isn't going to chose Stella over her career, her craft. I think this move could be what's best for Mariah. I had hoped LA would be the one to help Mariah make a comeback but he allowed her to release Infinity and then made comments that showed he viewed her as only a legacy artist until recently and that was just an attempt to save his own career. If they do have to choose between Mariah and JLO Mariah will be the chosen one. Simply because she writes and produces her material which means they don't have to pay writers and producers huge fees for her.

L.A. Reid out at Epic Records, Mariah's deal in (75,166) by B from USA
I wasn't wrong when I said LA was banking on Mariah next album being a success. Unfortunately, he was fired before being able to orchestrate his and Mariah's third act. Hopefully, Epic is still going to make Mariah's next release a priority seeing as how the only viable act on the rooster is Future which might explain Mariah working with him.
