About RibbonB from USA: I love Mariah's Music.

Shawn shade (69,966) by RibbonB from USA
So I see on twitter, Shawn is throwing a little subtle shade at James for selling off his Crown stake in China, since the arrest of his employees there. It seems Mr. Rich will be focusing his business in Australia and the big Vegas casino seems to be on indefinite hold too. He posted the story with the see and hear no evil emojis. This is a true story.

Re: Richie receipts (69,960) (69,961) by RibbonB from USA
Hey we are on the same page. I just saw that report out this week and thought it timely to share it with the board. I am seriously thinking of going when they are in California. I would never ordinarily go see Lionel, but this one two punch should be fun. But yes his receipts are only a google away. Lol.

Richie receipts (69,957) by RibbonB from USA
This just in Lionel Richie the highest paid singer this year. He is rolling in the dough from his tour and Vegas residency, etc. I'd say Mariah is lucky indeed to be invited to tour with him. He has done his homework, I hope Mariah studies well too. His material can be somewhat corny, but Mariah's can be too. Both are likeable, with timeless material.

Re: Watch What Happens Live outfit and Roc and Roe (69,928) (69,946) by RibbonB from USA
Those videos are too cute. Roc dances like his mom and Roe sings like her. Lol. Roc is too cool saying "What's up NY?"

Re: Serious question (69,912) (69,916) by RibbonB from USA
People often say single parent when they are no longer with their children's father or mother. Men and women say it even when they have a good co-parentlng relationship. When parents are together they rarely say co-parenting. It is usually just used to distinguish in that way, so it could imply divorced, widowed, or never been married or no longer co-habitating with the other parent.

Re: Stella's employment crimes (69,896) (69,904) by RibbonB from USA
Well it will be nice for her to be Stateside for most of 2017. This trip to Dubai is a concern. Hopefully the kids will have a more central base for the coming year. Even the Christmas shows in Vegas seems designed for more stability for the kids. I hope it is mainly for her kids.

Re: All The Hits North American tour (69,887) (69,894) by RibbonB from USA
I doubt that, but either way one of them would have gone on first and I doubt it would have been Lionel. Plus, Mariah just postponed some of her Vegas dates and we see why now, in order to be on this tour with Lionel. Looks like he had it planned and he made the adjustment. He could have done it without her I am sure, or picked any number of other acts. Maybe it was good timing for her to consider joining him. Perhaps we will hear more of how this came to be though. As far as People article, it has been referred to for years, but no one can find the article itself.

Re: All The Hits North American tour (69,883) (69,886) by RibbonB from USA
His Tuskegee album of a few years ago went number one on the Hot 200 and went platinum and made for a successful tour. Lionel is definitely the lead, but is sharing this with Mariah as his special guest, that title seems fitting IMO. Mariah should be able to learn quite a lot from her more senior veteran in the industry. Mariah might also consider his formula of duets on her top hits. That formula worked well for Lionel and top country artists. Plus, Lionel is a successful and seasoned touring legend with his years with the Commodores and as a solo artist. Mariah could learn a great deal having toured sporadically in comparison to someone like Lionel. This also gives Mariah the chance to get a "comeup" and share the bills in her tour, vs. being the headliner and footing most of them for lesser acts and acts that bring her no real value. She and Lionel should make a good show with hits galore between them.

Stella's employment crimes (69,885) by RibbonB from USA
Let me just break down how silly and in a normal world, illegal some of Stella's stances are.
1. Making public negative comments about past employees.
2. Telling new hires that they cannot cry, or have a significant other.
3. Allowing/encouraging sexual harassment in the work place. The Bryan stunt could be perceived as SH by either party involved or by the others she employs, just witnessing what they may perceive as "favoritism".
4. Placing children with adults on a tour bus. Even if their mother was also going to be on the bus.
5. Having her child as social media manager should be a crime.
I'm just highlighting this mess to show that she is either nuts, or just doesn't care about being believable or basic common sense.
I know they do not work in a normal corporate world, but I am sure a lot of the employment laws apply to artists.

Re: 12 year olds or middle aged group? (69,879) (69,884) by RibbonB from USA
I couldn't agree more, I even called it idiotic in my review. Mariah has plenty of 12 year old fans, she has fans of all ages, but to assume that she should appeal to 12 year olds as a base, when she is 46 is lunacy. Not to mention she has to appeal to the parents of 12 year olds who can afford the makeup, concert tickets and record sales. Well they probably know how to steal music, but still. And MW, while cartoonish at times, is really more adult than anything. But this is from Stellar who has her 35 year old 12 year old hanging around with a woman decades her senior. Also, with a reality show, you want to appeal to that magic nugget demographic base of 18-49, so Stelly Stell is off base.

Oh, I didn't see that interview. Was that Randy Jackson? Mariah might get advice, then she does what she wants, which is how life goes.

Re: 1969 or 1970? (69,867) (69,874) by RibbonB from USA
Lol, I know Licis, it is an old often rehashed debate that really means not much. I doubt anyone can find the People article which alleges this about her age. People have referred to their third party research for years with no receipts. There are other reliable third party outlets which have confirmed the age she provided. It's whatever, I just noted the most reliable information that is out there and verifiable by video or at least a copy of something.

The Lionel receipts. Lol. Wendy Williams asked why his ex didn't appear on the RHW series and his response is hilarious.

Lionel (69,852) by RibbonB from USA
It's interesting that Lionel paid his ex wife not to do a reality show. Hopefully he reached out to M with a better option. But M. has said she might consider a second season if it were attached to another tour or event. If she continues hopefully she will make massive corrections and improvements.

Roc and Roe's birth certificate is online with M's birthday listed as 1970. Her mom has confirmed it as 1970.

Re: Mariah going on tour with Lionel Ritchie (69,822) (69,827) by RibbonB from USA
Lol, she has 6 dancers too many especially since she herself is not a dancer. She might do well to pare her show down to her singing without all the hopping around behind her. And she can definitely lose being hauled onto stage on a couch, or settee, or divan.

Re: Mariah going on tour with Lionel Ritchie (69,819) (69,824) by RibbonB from USA
I think it's interesting. She and Lionel are friends. Maybe she is trying to settle into being a legacy artist and pulling away from all the rap collaborations. Perhaps her next project will be more R&B/Pop/AC. She can learn about career longevity from touring with Lionel going into this next more mature phase of her career.

Re: Variety and lawyers (69,795) (69,815) by RibbonB from USA
She likely talked to a lot of people, Lee Daniels, her lawyers, agents, husband etc. But she is talking in retrospect to where it went wrong. I mean Prince is gone and he didn't even have a will, but he had the forethought to know the internet was bad for musicians' profit. Just because he said go for it, doesn't mean he has all good ideas. Lol, but I am sure she doesn't think his motives for encouraging her are impure. But she might think her lawyers were motivated by money, not her best interests.

MW episode 2 (69,803) by RibbonB from USA
I took the time to watch tonight's episode because Roc and Roe were being featured somewhat. I love seeing them and they are both totally adorable. Love the Mariah mommy moments. If the show were Mariah on stage and at "home" with the kids it might be a more interesting show.
1. Molly is a waste of screen time. She is a dingbat and should never have been hired. Even as apparent comedy relief for the show, she is not funny. Why would any manager hire someone to make fun of after bragging about firing people left and right for not doing good jobs?
2. A 12 year old as social media manager is idiotic, Stella's theory of appealing to 12 year old Mariah fans is stupid.
3. Stella is inept as a manager/executive and tone deaf about what is appropriate. She is insane to think it appropriate for a 6 year old boy to travel on an adult tour bus with dancers for weeks at a time. That is not the place to cut budgets. She is not thinking about the security of the child, nor the privacy of the adults who are dancers not babysitters.
4. The Maryanne attitude was over the top and wrong. She shouldn't even want her son on a bus with grown men.
5. Stella is so lame she couldn't handle the issue she created? Really dumb
All in all I think the show could have been better received and better promoted without all the typical reality show mess and leaks. Stella is tone-deaf to what could really work well for Mariah IMO.

Re: Variety and lawyers (69,783) (69,788) by RibbonB from USA
Mariah does have power, but she also has issues of trust and maybe a little paranoia about people's motives. I think she is trying to get to a place where she surrounds herself with people she can trust, but she must know that, that hero lies within herself, and do some soul searching and self reflection, or even take some time off. She is easily manipulated and maybe hopeful to a fault. Famous people get let down all the time and have to wade through people who have their own best interests at heart vs. Mariah's. Maybe upon reflection she feels that he lawyers did not negotiate the best deal for her and her brand at the time. Stella seems like a master manipulator, recommended to her by a good friend. While many of us see her as a snake and sycophant, Stella came in playing to Mariah's ego and capitalizing on her fears. Perhaps more will develop as the show rolls on. Stella looks atrocious for her part in this mess. She might want to get some help and redirect before she sinks the ship. I keep referring back to Mariah's former dancer's comments.

MW review - The Root (69,761) by RibbonB from USA
I just found this review of the first episode. It says everything I have thought about the show, but says it in the nicest ways. Lol. I love the ways he describes the engagement and its aftermath. The writer is a lamb too.

Re: Mariah's West-World (69,753) (69,759) by RibbonB from USA
Um, I will pass this time. The Westworld theme of "these violent delights bring violent ends" is not a good look this era. The reality show alreadyseems a bit of fan fiction in action. IMO.

When Christmas Comes Live / Legend (69,758) by RibbonB from USA
This performance is great and all live. I think Mariah and John did a great job. When Christmas Comes is one of my favorite Mariah songs in years, great writing and music. I thougt they delivered a solid performance here.
