About Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter:

Re: Fusion of song (66,552) (66,558) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Don't worry about it, I made a worse blunder asking B why he thinks there will be 12th anniversary re-release of "Butterfly" knowing full well that it has been 2 decades and that album is my top 3 Mariah albums. I was embarrassed for days after that haha.

Elle article about Mariah's Mac collection (66,557) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ugh so I got too excited seeing Elle have an article about Mariah's collection thinking it's an official announcement but it was the same damn picture, so still speculations only, but what pissed me off is thanks to Mishka they choose some of Mariah's worst pictures to be featured in the article. Here's the link. The last picture is the worst, where her wig starts half way in the middle of her head. Gosh someone needs to clean out her damn instagram.

Re: Fusion of song (66,548) (66,553) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Yes the structure, the music, the yearning, and the storyline are similar. All 3 has this storyline of the protagonist desperately wanting to have their lover next to them. "My All" is one of my Mariah songs ever and the other 2 work nicely as sequels. I enjoy all 3, they are similar without sounding repetitive.

Same with "I Only Wanted" and "My All"/"After Tonight".

Re: Battle of the interludes / 2 minute songs (66,521) (66,545) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I'll go with "Twister". That's the one I have listened to the most out of the 3 mentioned and I think it's one of her most emotion songs and the whistle just drives in the emotion. Her voice in the song is both soothing and full of emotions, the type of Mariah vocals I love.

Re: Rainbow Mariah (66,536) (66,544) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I'm gonna agree to that and I think I found a little proof. While it seems like Mariah did something to her face, mainly because her eyes look more upturned and small instead of the usual almond shaped ones we are used to. Now we can all agree that this "change" started happening from 2015, so before that her face looked fine right? But here is an example from the Idol era, where her eye makeup is done the way she does it now and you can see her eyes look upturned and small like it does now. But right after that she served some of her best looks during that era and so I think it can be put down to bad makeup, the cat eye lashes and heavy eye makeup (whenever you compare her recent pictures where she has heavy make up with the ones with more natural makeup, you will see a drastic difference). However she sometimes does the natural makeup but then puts on those darn lashes and it makes her eyes look wonky like here. But when she doesn't use those lashes she looks straight out of 1999 like here, 2006-07 like here and 2010/2014 right here. So her face didn't change really. Its the makeup. The problem with those lashes is Kris puts the edges a little too much outside the outer corners of her eyes, so that combined with her having rounder cheeks (rounder does not mean fat, it makes her more youthful) close up her eyes and that's when it looks like she has cheek implants and botox and eye lifts.

Empire (66,516) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
The Empire song will be named "Infamous". It will be available for digital downloads on 30th September. Any chart expert here who can guide people on how to make the downloads count?

Re: Video (66,495) / Mimi L. (66,509) (66,511) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I saw that video and Stella was next to Mariah and talking non stop, James was sitting on the other side of the table and just watching. I don't get the need to take the entire entourage. Mariah should have learned what happens when you mix your personal and professional life, it gives birth to leeches. Red flags all around. She has no one around her (except James, who is as good as being invisible) who is not on her payroll and hence will never do anything that will cause her to cut them off her bottomless jar of wealth.

Re: Video (66,495) / Mimi L. (66,503) (66,508) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Thanks for the clarification Billy, I also thought the same thing that you said but someone on UKMix was saying how it is part of tradition and everyone does it so I got confused and wanted clarification. Imagine going for a quiet lunch and then having to deal with this mess. A full grown woman dancing on a table with kids while other members of the party are screaming their heads off for no good reason. Mariah wasn't screaming though, she was sitting and singing along to her songs. But the rest of her group could get you deaf in a day. This whole dancing on table top at a family restaurant thing was cringeworthy and disrespectful.

Can we get a MC and Bruno Mars collaboration already? Come on now. I think they'd sound great together.

Video (66,495) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Gosh these people are so loud all the time haha. And laughing hard at Mishka randomly touching Mariah's hair (to get some of that superstar DNA on her hands) and Mimi just turning around to give her the look. Second time Mishka attacked Mariah's hair on camera, the first time when Mariah went like "don't burn my hair" during Stella's birthday when Mishka was holding those fiery things (what do you call it again?) near Mariah's hair. There is this other video of Roc and Roe, Sasha and this full grown woman (either Liana or Zarinab, I forget which is which because these 2 and Stella look alike) dancing on top of this restaurant table and they were loud and it jumping. Now I gather that this dancing on restaurant tables is apparently acceptable in Greece and that it's some kind of celebration (can someone confirm this?), in which case I guess it's alright, but ugh the video gave me a headache. They better not ruin Mariah's hearing after yelling so much near her, we need them ears to be in pip condition.

Re: Empire song (66,484) (66,487) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
You are not alone, I'm here with you. Any new music from Mariah gets me excited. I'll try to stay calm though. I wonder why they decided to release the song ahead of her appearance though. As far as I know, it's usually released after the episode has been released although they do release some stuff earlier for promo. But come on, no one of Mariah's star level has ever been on Empire. Not even all the main casts combined is as famous as Mariah, so wouldn't they want to keep it under wraps for longer? But who knows, maybe it's a marketing tactic. We'll see. I just hope even if it's a ballad, it should have an uplifting chorus and signature Mariah ad-libs.

Here you go. Giving you an advance warning about potential headache due to little Bulochnikov moving the camera around so much. Waiting for the next installment featuring Miss Monroe singing "I'm Real". Just kidding.

10 random facts (66,466) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Love this video. Mariah looks great and full of life. I wish she was featured in some big magazines and we'd get some bonus videos like these. I'd love for her to have the Vogue 73 questions segment of her walking through her house and answering those.

Re: Why so melodramatic? (66,440) (66,446) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I loved the trailer but I'm a little concerned that she might push the diva image further down our throats. Like the part where she is laying around the house in lingerie and diamonds. I hope when the full episode airs, we see, she says something like "just kidding, I just got back from a shoot". But I'm keeping an open mind as of now. But if I see the Bulochnikovs trying to be the new Kardashians, I'll be pissed.

Re: Mimi L. (66,437) (66,445) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Dahlin' I only believed it because it came out of Mariah's mouth. This is the same woman who flat out denied hearing "Drunk In Love" on air. Plus she was seen listening to "Love Drought" while she was lounging around on the yacht. So I do think she listened to it. I will however agree that Beyonce's albums sell nowadays purely on hype. There are very few songs in it that are actually good.

Re: Implants / push up bra (66,436) (66,444) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I think this happened around the "Heartbreaker"/Rainbow era. One look at that pink crochet top with her boobs basically hitting you in the face while she leaned over and shook it around and you just know that them babies got some work done. Hahha. I love the "Heartbreaker" video to death though. Easily my top 5. But I think that's when they were well enlarged. Then gradually it kept getting bigger (because of push up bras dahlin') and now we have the golden globes. Frankly I think with a smaller size of the globes, Mariah would look a lot thinner. I mean she basically has a snatched waist line and great legs so ya.

Re: So flutter through the sky, Butterfly (66,434) (66,443) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
This is something I want to yell at lambs when they go like "Oh Mariah has been flashing skin since she took her dress off during Honey, so why are you getting bothered now? Because she is 46?" or stuff like "would you be surprised if Mariah did this at 20 instead of her 40s?" The Butterfly era sexiness has effortless, it's graceful, it's beautiful. It suits her. She had this weirdly awesome mixture of a sense of self dignity (where she knew she was a freaking super star) and yet looked so humble (that smile, so beautiful, so genuine). She wore many outfits that showed off her legs, her cleavage and a lot more, but it never looked trashy. Her beauty was unmatched, her confidence, through the roof. She had this beautiful combination of "strong independent woman" with a slight reflection of vulnerability (I swear I didn't realize I named 2 of her songs back to back). That made her the girl you can relate to and also the girl you would show respect to. Basically nothing during that time was forced, fake, harsh or "trying too hard". Now we have the fake orange tan, the weird lashes, the lingerie moments, the ugly fishnets, the fake smile, the bad wigs. Basically everything that screams "trying too hard". The main problem now is Mariah doesn't need to try so hard, she is still beautiful, she has a killer body, her legacy is still intact. No one is telling her to cover from head to toe. Take note from your 27 year old self Mariah. You are better than this, you are greater than this. Don't let your orange manager influence you.

Mariah during the Butterfly era (66,428) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah was possibly the most beautiful person on earth during the "Butterfly" era. Seriously the woman was a goddess and her beauty was unmatched. I was going through some of her candid photos and shoots and it's mesmerizing. She had minimal makeup and was stunning. So I thought of sharing some here. This was from one of her shoots. Ethereal beauty much? This is from the same shoot and it's possibly one of my favorite shoots ever. No orange tan, no harsh contours, no wonky eyes shadows, no ugly wigs. This is one of her rare semi edgy shoots, where she played up her makeup, and although she doesn't have a long bob cut here, I think she can totally rock her. Plus how did Vogue not knock her during this time? Losers. Now for some candid moment, how is this even fair? This is one of my favorite red carpet looks from her. Everything from the hair, to the makeup to the outfit was perfect.

Re: Getting MC back to the top of the charts (66,426) (66,427) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
She isn't actually clueless, because she said she listened to "Lemonade", she listened to Rihanna's new songs, she listened to The Weeknd, Fetty Wap and many more. The problem is her stubborn attitude when it comes to change. She is not willing to make changes unless she is the one starting something. Like with the "Fantasy" remix she started a new trend. So unless she is starting something new, she refuses to follow trends. She has said before I think, that she doesn't follow trends. But sometimes there's nothing wrong with following trends for 1-2 songs and release them as singles to attract the attention of the GP and then lure them into the album where she can include songs which she is more comfortable with. If she wants another successful era, she has to really break out and do something that she wouldn't do otherwise. But if she doesn't want it then we'll get more MIAMs, which for many reasons didn't get much attentions and then ultimately we don't hear her sing that album live anymore. It'll probably get ignored like "Glitter" from now on. (Clarifying here that I'm not saying MIAM is a bad album, I'm just saying there isn't anything there that she didn't do before, except #Beautiful.) "Infinity" would go unacknowledged by her too if she wasn't bound by the Vegas contract to use it in promos. Plus that's her most recent song so she is using it in promos since she already ignores all the songs from MIAM, if she had to choose any other song, she'd have to pick one from Memoirs.

But she did remix "The One" with re-sung vocals. The remix was amazing and more laid back. Mariah's vocals were great too. You should check it out if you didn't already.

Re: Butterfly (66,395) (66,407) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
All these cool ideas will only come from Mariah's fans. LA would just re-release it with a "Butterfly 12th Anniversary" in gold writing. If they do it, they should take the suggestions you made. But do they really re-release stuff for 12th anniversaries? Isn't it usually 10th or 20th or 25th? I could be wrong but I'm here for the ideas you mentioned. Butterfly is a timeless album. So many classic. I will forever be mad that the gorgeous "Breakdown" video didn't get the attention it deserves.
