Music Box vs. My Prayer (103,299) by Shezz from Pk Maybe this is the song the Clark sisters worked on. According to one fan site she used a full orchestra to rerecord an unreleased song. Rest easy Bill, I don't think she's rerecorded the entire Music box album - just unreleased/unfinished song or 2. Friday is too far away after that teaser she released. Sounds like her current voice? Music Box vs. My Prayer (103,294) by Bobby A from United States I have always wondered if Music Box started out as as a gospel song but evolved into what we have today. Listening to Music Box, MC makes you think she is talking to God in one verse and in another verse is to talking her lover. The use of the word "thee" makes me think Music Box was a gospel song before MC changed the lyrics to make it more secular with the use of the words "sweet", "tenderly", and "baby". Therefore, I am wondering did My Prayer evolve out of Music Box to become the gospel song MC wanted. I think that it is safe to assume that My Prayer is a gospel song. Music Box 30th anniversary revealed (103,270) by Bill from the UK I am so excited for this news. And wow, a new song from the recording sessions, I can't wait to hear it. And finally, to have the Thanksgiving concert on audio at last. Music Box was my first Mariah album and still to this day remains one of my favourites. MC's impending unwanted chart record (101,626) by Shezz from Pk If all goes as it should and AIWFCIY tops the charts again this year, MC will take over from Cher as the oldest female to score a number 1 on the Billboard hot 100. A record she will no doubt refuse to acknowledge. In other news, Jennifer Hudson says she has something planned with Mariah for Christmas. Remember when talking about it with Rolling Stone she said that people have been asking her "to do this for a long time". Grunge album (101,285) by Shezz from Pk After the Rolling Stone interview (which was a really good one after a while) I've come across atleast 4-5 major publication's articles about MC releasing her Grunge album soon (which in MC world could still mean 2024). I wonder if MC's team has arranged those or if they just picked up on what she said in the Rolling Stone interview. The other artist that she has talked about collaborating on it with seems to be Millie Bobby Brown. Way back she said this person is an actress who wants to get into music and they've been hanging out together a bit much for their age difference to just be good friends even though MC wants to forever be 12. Re: Just an opinion AIWFCIY (100,392) (100,400) by Shezz from Pk I came to know of this song when Kelly Clarkson covered it on Kellyoke a year or so ago. I thought it had thematic similarities ( l don't want any material things for Christmas, I only want you) but then most songs have that now don't they? I don't think Tommy "stole" the idea as it was already a commercially released song. Could Mariah have been inspired by it? Possible. The fact that they named it the exact same title, I hope, means that she wasn't aware of it and it was just a coincidence. The fact that they're only going on title similarities and doing it after so many years when it's become such a lucrative staple just means they're just after some money now. Hoping for the new single / project announcement supposedly to happen on the upcoming twitter spaces. (Monday 6 June 2022; 05:25)

Re: Big Energy (100,306) (100,308) by Shezz from Pk There could be a number of reasons why she didn't get on to the BER bandwagon. 1. Seems like there might have been some label conflict with the remix not getting played on radio much and MC not getting credited (and clearly it's not because the original was better - the remix was a near home run that MC put a considerable effort into). 2. Maybe she's focusing more on her own upcoming project that she's very excited about. 3. Maybe she just was not invited to perform? 4. Her fear of live shows. Although she did say the video was up to RCA not her, and the amount of love and support she showed Latto on twitter, she would have been down for it. Label or scheduling conflict? I don't think she minded being a feature/guest on the song as she did once talk on twitter spaces about the possibility of the song going n1 and what that would mean. I don't think we have too long to wait till we get some announcements about the new era. Here's hoping for a full on roll out TEOM style. MC16: Rumour mill (100,270) by Shezz from Pk I don't know if any of y'all follow the twitter account "Nostradamus Prediction" - they report on upcoming music. They reported (they like to call it predictions - but it's clearly somebody connected who gets info a few weeks before it's out) the Latto collaboration long before it was released and lots of other news for other artists and they are mostly pretty accurate. Attached is a link stating that the first single from MC16 will be out mid June. They have also reported on a Weekend collaboration, and while ago reported a big collaboration with another female other than Brandy and Latto (which Mariah confirmed the other night). Ah I think Mariah is saying " Big Latto uhhh sing." To be honest at first I wasn't as blown away by the remix but listening to it with earphones is a whole different experience. You can hear Mimi on the entire track not just her verse. I could not stop hearing it on repeat at the gym the whole time. Re: DJ Khaled (99,031) (99,033) by Shezz from Pk I think she got the memo when she recorded Caution. Wasn't he practically nonexistent on that album? It was definitely a step in the right direction. Here's hoping she takes that several steps further with MC16 now that she has the time to fully work on it at her own pace. I think the other producers let her take the wheel when they collaborate either out of awe or respect of working with her. My hope for MC16 is that she tries to keep things simple production wise and not muddle her songs with over production and numerous counter melodies and let the songs be singable and more coherent. There still is brilliance in all her songs. I just feel it gets lost in there. (Saturday 4 December 2021; 05:06)

Re: Easy on me (98,752) (98,761) by Shezz from Pk I agree with both sides of the Adele debate here. Yes, it sounds like it could have come from any of her previous 3 albums. Nothing fresh and yes not as memorable or strong as Rolling in the Deep or Hello. I even prefer Chasing Pavements as a lead single. But it is vintage, signature, unmistakable Adele. She has a style and a "formula" for lack of a better word that the world absolutely adores. She'd be crazy to ditch it. If she were releasing an album a year like Mariah did in the 90s then she'd be in trouble (kudos to Mariah though to bring a new, fresh and evolving sound with every 90s album). But she's smart and really spaces her albums well. And yes, if Mariah were to put out a single like Easy On Me - a simple, straightforward, melodious, singable lead song with solid vocals, we would all be doing cartwheels. I know I would. I don't know why she needs to muddle her songs with complex production and counter melodies to the extent where the general public or even most lambs can't sing along. Though I don't think she would have a fraction of the success now as Adele even with Adele's material. Her time in the sun is over and I really do appreciate her still putting out albums knowing only her core base will acknowledge and appreciate them. Don't diss the seasonal love she still gets when the world forgets they can't stand her and come together to revel in the joyful masterpiece that is All I Want for Christmas Is You. Hinted that it's more of a ballad and nothing like AIWFC. She was also asked if she would cover Santa Baby ever. She said another artist already has (Madonna) and she doesn't plan to. Seems like a Brandy collab is in the works. They are in touch. 2. She's in love with her new Christmas song that she's created with Daniel Moore and is looking for a young male RnB vocalist for it - someone suggested Bruno Mars but she shut that down and said Christmas isn't his thing. 3. She has found her recordings of Someone's Ugly Daughter and has plans for it that she can't reveal. 4. She's really immersed in her studio recording and writing process these days and wants to release some behind the scenes or making of. She was still a little vague and unclear about MC16, whether the Christmas stuff is a separate project or what. She's working on several things simultaneously. 5. Asked if people would be down for a collab with someone like Post Malone (hell yes). 6. Whatever music she's working on is so important to her that she thinks she wouldn't even care if she's not on its cover. 7. She has plans to release a lot of things that her label (presumably) isn't for and has a lot of opinions about but she wants none if their input and is happy to self finance it to put it out for the lambs.
