MC on MC (66,763) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter So Miley Cyrus has said some pretty heavy things about Mariah Carey, to quote her, she said "I've never really been a fan, because it's so much about Mariah Carey. That's part of her shtick; I can see through that. That's part of what makes her a gay icon; like, it's about Mimi. It's about what she's wearing, and it's about her. What I make isn't about me. It's about sharing my story; it's about someone being connected to what I'm saying." First of all, as a fan of Mariah's music, I'll say not everything about Mariah is shallow and decorative. If anyone denies her the credit of being one of the greatest songwriters with lyrics that are real, deep and meaningful, then I would just tell them to actually go and listen to her "real catalogue" of "real songs" and not just listen to the hits like TMB and "Obsessed" and things of that nature and thinking that's all she write. No, I don't think these songs are bad, in fact I love and enjoy them but judging Mariah's songwriting based on these songs is not right. Go listen to "Outside", "Looking In", "Petals", ATYNAF, "Butterfly", "Love Takes Times" and songs like that to really see her deep side, her songwriting expertise and how she's a genius musician and is million times better than anything Miley has ever written or will write. Case in point "Miley Cyrus and her Dead Petz". So Mariah isn't real because she didn't write a song about her dead pet goldfish? Boo-hoo. She wrote "Bye Bye" with Jack in mind (among other people close to her) so Miley what's good? I do admire that Miley keeps it real most of the time, her friend circle does not include famous faces for publicity like Taylor, she has some good songs, she voices her opinion about things she is passionate about, she does a lot of charity work, but it would be far fetched to say she doesn't pull stunts. Stripping off and sexually assault Robin Thicke on stage for shock value, wearing a grotesque costume shaped like genitalia, swinging naked on a wrecking ball for views are all stunts. So she isn't really in the position to call Mariah out. But some things she said unfortunately what the GP, including some lambs now think about her. And Mariah is partly to blame for this with all the stunts, the over the top diva act among other things. She is pure, real talent, she doesn't need to drop to this level yet she does. All these take away from her music. Her celebrity/diva status completely overshadows her talent nowadays. It's sad really that this is what the current generation thinks of her and so they don't even bother testing her music or else if they did, they'd be in love with her because her music is something she never disappoints me with. I genuinely want to know. If there's a security concern I get why they'd not let her near Mariah, in fact that's how it should be but cancelling the rest for this is a bit extreme because Mariah said it herself that people from all over the world come to see her in Vegas (which means local/international air tickets, hotel/food expenses, the ticket itself). Now let me get this straight, I don't mean in any way that just because people paid so much money to see so she is bound to give them what they want. I am completely in favor of her thinking about her security first before anything else because let's be real some fans are so obsessed they can prove to me really dangerous for the stars they adore (case in point John Lennon, Christina Grimme, Selena Quintanilla, Sandra Bullock, Gwyneth Paltrow). So I would not take security concerns lightly at all if the security thought he was dangerous for Mariah. Better to cancel and refund instead of going ahead and risking it out. But if it was something small like say the fan demanding extra time because he spent money for this or that he was impolite towards her security then they could have just escorted him out and moved on with the rest. Anyways, I still want to know what happened. Did he try to get physically aggressive or verbally? I mean it seems unlikely because Mariah did post a picture of her hugging him before on her instagram, this is the guy right? Someone on this board mentioned they asked him to make a doll for Mariah and also that Mariah knows him and frequently gives him shout-outs from the stage, so I'm a little confused how it went down. I could have lived without the useless reprise though and I would have liked "Skydiving" to replace that. I would also have liked for "Imperfect" to stay on the album. She said she mixes a lot of stuff together to keep her skin in good condition. Then she went on to say that she might consider selling her mixture in the future. She might have talked about the spray tan, I can't remember. Her TEOM tan was fine, the TAOM tan was orange though. (Friday 23 September 2016; 15:18)

Empire song update (66,613) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter So Mariah's song in Empire is produced by Mariah, JD and Brian M. Cox. While I really enjoy Mariah's collaborations with JD, I don't get why she didn't work with the producers working on Empire's music. I think it's Rodney Jerkins and Ne-Yo now. I would have loved a Timbaland track but I heard he won't be coming back for Season 3. Ah well, we'll see what we get in 1 week. I'm excited. (Friday 23 September 2016; 10:09)

The TEOM era tan was still fine, although I much rather prefer her to be just her natural self. I think it makes her look much younger. Her #Beautiful era tan was good too. But ya the TEOM era one was still fine but she surely isn't using what she did back then because every time she got tan recently it's straight up orange and splotchy. Haha it baffles me with all the money Mariah still chooses the worst tan and clothes. Like look at how orange they make her. This is another example. Compare it to this where she is in her natural tone and she looks much more radiant and younger. (Friday 23 September 2016; 9:55)

Somehow they get it wrong most of the type, I just don't get it. It also somehow ages her and makes the area around her cleavage and arms look bad. Elle article about Mariah's Mac collection (66,557) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Ugh so I got too excited seeing Elle have an article about Mariah's collection thinking it's an official announcement but it was the same damn picture, so still speculations only, but what pissed me off is thanks to Mishka they choose some of Mariah's worst pictures to be featured in the article. All 3 has this storyline of the protagonist desperately wanting to have their lover next to them. "My All" is one of my Mariah songs ever and the other 2 work nicely as sequels. That's the one I have listened to the most out of the 3 mentioned and I think it's one of her most emotion songs and the whistle just drives in the emotion. While it seems like Mariah did something to her face, mainly because her eyes look more upturned and small instead of the usual almond shaped ones we are used to. Now we can all agree that this "change" started happening from 2015, so before that her face looked fine right? But here is an example from the Idol era, where her eye makeup is done the way she does it now and you can see her eyes look upturned and small like it does now. But right after that she served some of her best looks during that era and so I think it can be put down to bad makeup, the cat eye lashes and heavy eye makeup (whenever you compare her recent pictures where she has heavy make up with the ones with more natural makeup, you will see a drastic difference). However she sometimes does the natural makeup but then puts on those darn lashes and it makes her eyes look wonky like here. But when she doesn't use those lashes she looks straight out of 1999 like here, 2006-07 like here and 2010/2014 right here. So her face didn't change really. Its the makeup. The problem with those lashes is Kris puts the edges a little too much outside the outer corners of her eyes, so that combined with her having rounder cheeks (rounder does not mean fat, it makes her more youthful) close up her eyes and that's when it looks like she has cheek implants and botox and eye lifts. I don't get the need to take the entire entourage. Mariah should have learned what happens when you mix your personal and professional life, it gives birth to leeches. Red flags all around. She has no one around her (except James, who is as good as being invisible) who is not on her payroll and hence will never do anything that will cause her to cut them off her bottomless jar of wealth. Imagine going for a quiet lunch and then having to deal with this mess. A full grown woman dancing on a table with kids while other members of the party are screaming their heads off for no good reason. Mariah wasn't screaming though, she was sitting and singing along to her songs. But the rest of her group could get you deaf in a day. This whole dancing on table top at a family restaurant thing was cringeworthy and disrespectful. (Tuesday 20 September 2016; 14:42)

Video (66,495) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Gosh these people are so loud all the time haha. And laughing hard at Mishka randomly touching Mariah's hair (to get some of that superstar DNA on her hands) and Mimi just turning around to give her the look. Second time Mishka attacked Mariah's hair on camera, the first time when Mariah went like "don't burn my hair" during Stella's birthday when Mishka was holding those fiery things (what do you call it again?) near Mariah's hair. There is this other video of Roc and Roe, Sasha and this full grown woman (either Liana or Zarinab, I forget which is which because these 2 and Stella look alike) dancing on top of this restaurant table and they were loud and it jumping. Now I gather that this dancing on restaurant tables is apparently acceptable in Greece and that it's some kind of celebration (can someone confirm this?), in which case I guess it's alright, but ugh the video gave me a headache. They better not ruin Mariah's hearing after yelling so much near her, we need them ears to be in pip condition. (Tuesday 20 September 2016; 2:48)

I wonder why they decided to release the song ahead of her appearance though. As far as I know, it's usually released after the episode has been released although they do release some stuff earlier for promo. But come on, no one of Mariah's star level has ever been on Empire. Not even all the main casts combined is as famous as Mariah, so wouldn't they want to keep it under wraps for longer? But who knows, maybe it's a marketing tactic. We'll see. I just hope even if it's a ballad, it should have an uplifting chorus and signature Mariah ad-libs. (Monday 19 September 2016; 20:37)
