About RibbonB from USA: I love Mariah's Music.

Re: The Mariah - Beyoncé comparison (67,278) (67,280) by RibbonB from USA
True facts, except I don't give that much credit to Miguel or The Weeknd. Miguel had been grinding away trying to put out his kind of music for sure. The Weeknd is fairly new on the scene by comparison and he seems rather pop vs. R&B. He seems to be getting "poppier" by the minute. I am hopeful for some real, real R&B, especially from the males. For a while there everyone was sounding like Usher, or Chris Brown. Luke James made an effort, but didn't get much play. The next greatest is out there, somewhere though. I hope.

Now Licia, you and I both know that Mariah was putting way too much in that gumbo and she put the shrimp in way too soon. Lol. "Sheyont want dat gumbo no mo", allegedly, possibly.

Article: 23 of Mariah Carey's best hip-hop collaborations (67,245) by RibbonB from USA
"So Lonely" is best of all of them, IMO. Love that collaboration with Twista.

Re: What's with the silence? (67,227) (67,244) by RibbonB from USA
I'm sure she is mainly prepping for the next leg of SSF shows, but I wonder if Kim K's latest incident has been food for thought for M. and other wealthy folks on instagram. Flaunting wealth can be hazardous. Kim and crew did some careless mess, but no one deserves that kind of thing to happen. Another reason that M. should hire an adult, smart, experienced social media manager, or just do it herself on a minimal time delayed basis.

Lol the divorce is not yet finalized. I said months ago, that if she is lucky it will be final by first of 2017 and maybe she can marry on her old anniversary date. Lol. But no this is not shade, Wendy has been consistent about this from day one. There were rumors that his own marriage is final, but I doubt it and Wendy stated that it is not. The whole thing was a rush, but whatever. Wendy got it wrong that all her fans like her to be "messy". Some do love whatever she does though, that is for sure.

Tour leg with Jussie (67,205) by RibbonB from USA
Thinking about Ribbon again got me thinking about some good duets Mariah and Jussie could do together when they do her concerts in Hawaii. They could slay on "Beautiful", a duet of "Ribbon" and of course their new song "Infamous". I doubt if she will dig so deep into "Memoirs", but they could also do "Inseperable". They could actually sing "Beautiful" then fade into Jussie's one "hit song" "You're so Beautiful". Lol. I would die to see M. sing "Up down, up down, up down up". Hahaha.

Isn't it? I just love it, especially the adlibs at the end and the whistle wind down.

It is going to be a long four weeks if we all start posting about who we should or shouldn't vote for. One of two people is going to win and all of us, particularly in the U.S. are going to have to deal with it.

Yes, but sometimes great music breaks through. I believe Mary can do it and Mariah too if she really hits the right note, song, production and delivery. The world is ready for some grown folks music again I hope, and pray. Lol. I agree with you too Gee, Mary hit it out of the park and Jazmine Sullivan is a great talent. Either she or Ledisi could help Mariah write some good grown girl grooves. Yaasssss.

MJB - Thick Of It (67,120) by RibbonB from USA
Wow, Mary J. Blige just released her first post break up music and it is fire. Written by Jazmine Sullivan and it might just become a hit. Nice to see the over 40 singers still doing their thing, making new inroads the best way they can. I just watched a great video of Madonna talking to Matt Lauer about relevancy. She made some great points, that really what is relevancy, it has no impact on the meaning and relevancy of greats like Aretha or Sinatra. She said it is about doing the music that you love and of course making money does influence trying to appeal to the younger crowd, but ultimately it is about an artist growing creatively and doing what they like. I paraphrased her of course.

My fave "Blue Eyed Soul" artists (67,093) by RibbonB from USA
Bobby Caldwell, Teena Marie, Adele. Totally awesome no matter what genre.

Re: Quote unquote "blue eyed soul" (67,089) (67,092) by RibbonB from USA
Notice how Mariah is not on this list. This is a list of notable blue-eyed soul artists. Blue-eyed soul (also known as white soul) is soul music or rhythm and blues performed by white artists. From Wikipedia, nor does she fit the definition, in addition, artists have been making this music every year since the genre was created, so if she were on it, she wouldn't be bringing anything back. Plus TAOLG is wack. Lol. But I see what you're trying to do.

Re: Is someone paying you? (67,076) (67,077) by RibbonB from USA
I too have noticed "Brexit boy's" race baiting, tantrums and his general state of having his knickers in a knot. He obviously craves attention and can hardly hide his fear of a multiracial planet. Pitiful.

Re: Kitty, Jussie and his hit the right-note pills (67,070) (67,071) by RibbonB from USA
Empire has always had at least one white character on the show. This year she is a ghost. But I am sure you were trying to make a dig at the multi-racial Mariah.

Re: Kitty, Jussie and his hit the right-note pills (67,061) (67,067) by RibbonB from USA
What did Alicia's character "mean"? She had a little fling wit Jussie, so surely that would be off the table for the Kitty character too. But many think they have set the Kitty character up for a possible future fling with Andre. So perhaps Jussie and Andre will join her on tour in Hawaii, since Jussie is not ready for the South American leg. Lucious mentioned that Jussie was high as a kite, so they are obviously putting addiction into the story arc. It has also been said that Lee wanted Mariah to come on as Mariah, but she wanted a character, so maybe this is their way of giving each what they wanted especially for the short time she had available to do the show. I do think he was motivated by the thought of recording with one of his idols and helped in his mind by the pills.

Empire (67,042) by RibbonB from USA
Mariah did great and I really like the song now when I hear it. Good moment for Mimi. I wish they had switched up her fashion though. I am looking for that high glam, high fashion moment, not the frilly unitard and see through gown moment. But she looked and sounded great.

Re: Solange - Wants to work with Mariah (66,999) (67,035) by RibbonB from USA
Check this out This is qhm. Solange mentions wanting Mariah to sing some songs she has written at about the 2:25 mark. Let's hope they can make this happen. I am sure they are songs that she feels would work well for Mariah's sound and hopefully take her a a little further. Awesome that she calls Mariah a brilliant songwriter.

F.U.B.U. (67,032) by RibbonB from USA
I am loving Solange's song F.U.B.U. It has a really good vibe and groove and co-written by none other than the Dream. Lol. Luckily she tamps down any vestige of him in the song. Somehow I don't picture Mimi doing a song called F.U.B.U. but perhaps one called "Not For Yall" though. Hehehhee. "This yacht, not for yall, these baubles yall can't have 'em. Yall can watch, but that's about all when I Instagram them..." Let me stop. Empire tonight.

Re: Infamous team (67,029) (67,030) by RibbonB from USA
IDK, maybe Jim is part of the writing team, but M. JD and B. Cox co produced it. Tweet Big Jim, I am sure he will tell you. Maybe he was just promoting the song, if not an actual co-writer. So yeah, based on Mariah's quote she wrote the song with Big Jim and JD. But B Cox is a co producer.
