About Bill from the UK: I love Mariah more than you do.

London Daydream Tour Attendee.

Favourite and worst videos (43,391) by Bill from the UK
Just to pass the time from now until the album, what are you all's top and bottom three videos? My best would be:
1. The Roof - I love how atmospheric it is and the cosy limo shots, knowing the rain is pounding down outside. Something magical about the whole thing.
2. Loverboy - I love the vibrant colours, that crystal clear blue sky, the racing cars, and Mariah knows how to work a flag.
3. All I want for Christmas Is You (colour version) - So natural, back in the days when Mariah could move without the aid of several topless male dancers. Her running around in the snow like a little girl does make me think she perhaps is "eternally 12".
Worst would be:
1. Boy (I Need You) - The manga/anime nonsense is just stupid. Can't stand the song either so that didn't help.
2. H.A.T.E.U. - Very, very boring and lazy. Looks like it was done in an afternoon.
3. Bringin' On the Heartbreak - The gypsy look was a complete mess.

America the Beautiful (43,355) by Bill from the UK
Who would have thought Mariah adding a bonus track on her album would incite a political and economic debate on this humble little messageboard. It's just a song, it ain't that deep. Just making a statement of my own opinion. I liked the Letterman interview, it wasn't the car crash I was expecting to be honest. Can't wait for the album.

Lamb (43,275) by Bill from the UK
Lamb, the Wikipedia page for the new album has George Michael as the writing credit for One More Try. Not sure how accurate it is but it's probably safe to assume she is indeed covering it.

Eternal (43,265) by Bill from the UK
I'm really excited to hear One More Try as the George Michael song is gorgeous and I know it will sound great with Mariah's voice behind it. I'm also eager to hear Thirsty and the track with Dem Babies as that should be cute. I agree that Heavenly will probably be a gospel closer. I hope it's uplifting like Fly Like A Bird, as opposed to the gentler I Wish You Well. I also think Mariah ends her albums really well, every closing track has been perfect in the past and I don't think this will be any different. I'm very keen to hear the MOAIA remixes as well.

UK pre-order available (43,199) by Bill from the UK
It appeared on the iTunes store this morning. Both deluxe and standard editions. Weirdly though every track's length is six seconds apart from the singles and the closer. That would be so funny if I waited four years for six second songs lol. UK version is expected May 26 which makes sense as releases happen on Monday here as opposed to Tuesday in the States.

The announcement (43,174) by Bill from the UK
Wow. Great title, great cover, great promo video. I really cannot wait for this album, I am beyond excited. Wish the UK iTunes store would hurry up and have the pre-order added.

The new era (43,030) by Bill from the UK
If this new era becomes more successful than TEOM, hell, even more successful than Daydream, and Mariah rocks up enough number ones to smash all records, all you naysayers will be praising it as a return to glory and you'll be so glad she waited for the album to be right before releasing it. Sometimes I wonder if some of you care more about the stats and chart positions than the actual music.

What a great response to all the crap QueenMC has been spewing out for the last few months. Well said.

Billboard / QueenMC (42,920) by Bill from the UK
Hey all. I just wanted to say what a stunning shot that is of Mariah on the cover of Billboard magazine. I think I prefer it in black and white as it really works with the bold yellow lettering. She looks beautiful as always. QueenMC, please, you've been dropping hints about the album for a while now. If you are indeed privy to its content and title, please don't spoil the surprise for those of us waiting for Mariah's official announcement. We all saw how upset she was when the original TAOLG title was leaked.

Relax (42,842) by Bill from the UK
It's interesting seeing everybody's reaction (or over reaction) to the album's release date. Even going so far as to attack JD in public and write "open letters" to Mariah. Whatever next? All take a step back. May 6 hasn't even arrived yet. Wait and see what happens and if come the morning of May 7th nothing materialised, then you can all start your complaining and your demands for information. Some of you just need to take a chill pill.

Darryle (42,839) by Bill from the UK
Hi Darryle. US albums are usually released on a Tuesday and always have been. European albums are always out on Mondays which is why Europe get the album first. Australia is usually the last to get anything unfortunately. As for the bonus tracks, it is often cheaper for Japanese consumers to import the album from another country, so to encourage them to buy the version produced in their country to support their economy, bonus tracks are added to act as an incentive to spend more money on the album than they would if they were to import it.

Hero (42,759) by Bill from the UK
Last night, and this afternoon, Hero was played on two separate radio stations in the UK. Mariah rarely gets airplay here except for at Christmas time with AIWFCIY, so it is always an unexpected joy to hear her on the radio. Hero sounds so good on the airwaves. I will be disappointed if the album is pushed back, but we have so many great songs from her past catalogue to enjoy in the mean time, let's not forget that.

Retirement (42,716) by Bill from the UK
I really hope this isn't Mariah's last album, as I have a feeling it will be one of her best. Something is telling me that it will join the "holy trinity" of Daydream, Butterfly and Emancipation, three creative and career peaks in my opinion. I completely understand her wanting to spend time with Nick and her children, so if it is going to be four year waits between albums because of that then so be it, but for it to be her last would devastate me.

Catching up (42,652) by Bill from the UK
Wow so the thumbs down went. I will miss my regular 6 (minimum) thumbs down, they were like a badge of honour. Oh well. Easy come, easy go. The new format is politically correct and removes the negativity I guess, though it was funny seeing someone get 40 dislikes for saying that they loved Mariah haha. I'm so excited for the new album. I have been listening to her 90s records non stop in the lead up to it. I love Mariah so, so much.

A Street Car Named Mariah (42,599) by Bill from the UK
I had a dream this was the new album title. Just writing it down so it doesn't come true lol.

6 May 2015 (42,553) by Bill from the UK
I think I'd die if it was May 6 2015 lol. I'm sure she will stick to the committed release date, and I'm really looking forward to hearing the new songs. Less than a month to go now after this agonising wait. MC.com mentioned YME as being the "lead" single. I wonder if this means Beautiful and TAOLG have been kicked off the album now? That would be a real shame as I love those songs.

May 6th (42,470) by Bill from the UK
I think Mariah should re-title the album "May 6th" as that is what I have been calling it in my head since the promo came out for it. Lol, that would be funny as we've all been here going on and on about the album not being titled when it was there right in our faces the whole time.

Randy and retirement (42,411) by Bill from the UK
That was a hilarious post Randy, Sprain So made me laugh like a drain. As for retirement, if she did announce such a thing, I wouldn't mind because I know she'd return at some point and it'd be interesting to see if she focused on writing songs for other artists and finally get recognition for what a great songwriter she is (something I always think is overlooked). With most female singers, once they become mothers the frequency of albums slows down. Happens with almost all of them and that's completely understandable.

Dream (42,378) by Bill from the UK
I had a dream I was at a fancy restaurant and Mariah was performing. The maître d' then said as he knew I was a fan, she would perform sat at my table. I was over the moon. She arrived, and looked completely different because she was in regular clothes and hadn't applied her make up or done her hair yet. We hugged. She went to get ready and then she called my phone because she was nervous. We had a heart to heart and then cheekily asked when her new album was coming out. She said she felt the bubble had gone off the wine and wasn't going to release it, and I was devastated. I hope that element doesn't turn true. As he Nick, the man needs to exercise some decorum. It's just low rent to talk like that, about any lady, not just our Mariah.

Gilbert / J Lo (42,358) by Bill from the UK
Haha J Lo autocorrected to J Lol. Anyway, yes there is a history between the two. When Mariah left Sony for Virgin, it wasn't on the best of terms. Sony had the rights to the Glitter soundtrack in Japan, and so Tommy Mottola allegedly had access to the songs before they were released. J.Lo released a song which used an obscure sample (Firecracker by Yellow Magic Orchestra) which was the sample used in the original version of Loverboy. Mariah had to re-sing and re-record the song with a new sample (Candy) and Mariah's been pissed at J.Lo and Sony's campaign to derail her career ever since.

First time (42,357) by Bill from the UK
I've enjoyed reading gall of your stories, this is a great subject. I first heard Dreamlover back in 1993. My older brother was obsessed with the MTV Countdown and I used to watch it with him. I remember loving her look, and her voice. I thought she had a speech impediment due to the way she sang "insi-eede" and "tii-eem" lol. Then Hero came out and I again loved the song and the video, and remembered seeing the Hero cassette in a record shop and almost buying it. My real obsession came, like many of us Europeans, when Without You took our entire continent by storm. I wonder why that song connected to us all so much. I bought the cassette single, and soon after the Music Box album. My bedroom was being painted and I was sharing my brother's room in a sleeping bag, and I would listen to the album on my Walkman all night long. Reading the lyrics, admiring the pictures, and eager to listen to her other records that were advertised in the inlay.

SS (42,305) by Bill from the UK
I couldn't have put it better myself. I listened to Butterfly and Charmbracelet just this morning and enjoyed them as much as on the first listen. Yesterday I listened to The Ballads for some variety, and lately I have been enjoying the debut album more than ever. That's just something so humble and innocent about that whole record, the whole world was completely unaware of what was about to unfold off the back of it. Although the variety of producers do give it a somewhat disjointed feel, tracks like Alone In Love, Sent From Up Above, All In Your Mind are just as great as the singles. I've read some great articles about Butterfly and Breakdown which I will send to the webmaster in a hope he will share with the fans.
