Carpool karaoke (63,002)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
So expanding on Andrew's post and in case JLo and Mariah becomes friends, I'd love to watch them join James Corden on a Carpool Karaoke segment. Where they just let lose and have fun. I'd like to hear JLo attempt to sing "My All" haha (since it's her favorite Mariah song) and I want Mariah to bop to "Booty" haha. Oh Lord. The views would be through the roof. They could do it like one of them is already in the car and then midway they stop to pick the other one up (like in the Gwen stefani - George Clooney - Julia Roberts one).

Re: Mariah fabulous life (62,998) (63,001)

"They could ask her about recording new music, changing her sound, working with new producers, her ideas about recording a covers album, changing her hair color, anything else." You better replace Stella and be appointed as MC's manager right away. This is exactly what I was complaining about in one of my posts, that her interviews for a while lack substance. We only get to hear her talk about the same 3 things, none of which is her music. It's the diamonds, the fancy lifestyle and the kids. Questions about her music has taken a back seat. This is surprising because if anyone has something substantial to talk about, it's Mariah Carey. She could have so much to say about her music, her musical style, her recording process and so on, and yet all we get are the diva questions. Mariah is a genius and people seem to not notice that anymore because she has created the image of a "ditzy diva". I swear if Mariah would just go back to having the intellectual interview she used to give before and be a little more humble, people would be in awe of her. She is more than just a big voice. There's so much depth in her, people need to see that. Also in this way she can finally get the rightful respect as a songwriter. People still don't know that this woman wrote or cowrote all her songs.

Glam Mariah (62,986)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
I was wondering if Mariah's team can get her a deal to be the face of a major fashion house or the face of a signature perfume for a major fashion house like "J'adore" for Dior, or "Chanel No. 5" and the likes. She could do one of the glamorous ads. And who does glamour better than Miss Carey? It could also help expose her to a wide range of audience, if she maybe records something as the background song. She is in great terms with so many big labels. I think she can easily get it done. She is quite close with Donatella Versace, Alaia, Karl Lagerfeld and recently, Olivier Rousteing.

Mariah takes a bath with Jimmy Kimmel (62,959)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|

I thought this part was hilarious. Mariah was definitely less diva and more playful this time. I didn't think she would get in the tub so easily without a "Dahlin' I can't even know what to say. The abuse." and all but she surprised me. She looks great. Does anyone have a link to the full interview? The links from Jimmy's page won't work in my country.

Article: Mariah Carey slams Las Vegas rivals (62,949)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
That's a stupid article. Mariah didn't say she "doesn't know" any of the other Vegas acts. She was asked about being carried around behind the scenes and she said something like "the male dancers carry me, I only have male dancers, because why would I have girls up there with me?" and Kelly says "who even are these girls" or something like that, to which Mariah replies "I don't know any of them". They should check before writing stuff. Mariah has respect for Celine and she also talked warmly about Britney.

Nick Jonas on Mariah (62,922)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
So did you guys read about how Nick Jonas said he watches Mariah's HSN video where she says "moments" a lot of times, at least once a week? The quote is "There is a video of Mariah online that I love. It's basically her on the online shopping channel selling stuff. But over the course of the two episodes they collected from, she says the word 'moment' about 100 times and they cut them all together. When she is selling a scarf, she goes, 'When you're looking for a Parisian moment...' It will blow your mind. I watch it at least once a week." Haha I thought it was funny that he actually still watches that clip.

Recent interviews (62,918)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
One thing I noticed about Mariah's recent interviews is that she hardly speaks about the projects she is promoting, which are the docu-series and her Vegas show. Most of her appearances are filled with everything except the promotion. The promotion seems to be like an after-thought almost and is usually talked about at the very end when all of a sudden the host basically has to remind Mariah that "so your show is coming up" and the likes. Then she'll just say a short sentence and that's it. When it's about her Vegas show, it's always "ya we are trying to add something to change it up", like seriously go into details, say a little bit more, if it's a secret at least go into details about your past shows. Then when it comes to "Mariah's World", it's always a "dahlin' the cameras followed me around, I can't even, I had to shut them down many times" and that's about it. Tell us what we should be expecting from it, give us something on your promo tour. Most importantly I think she should give more screen time to her projects rather than just the last minute of the appearance where the host prompts her to speak about it.

Re: Stella's resignation (62,911) (62,913)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Andrew, I appreciate your polite response. And I can agree with you when you say that a lot of my opinions are based on assumptions I have made in my mind. However there are reasons behind the assumptions. Not all the time, but sometimes. Like how she plays up Mariah's "I don't know her" in several posts. Same with the Wendy shade. As a manager she should have either advised Mariah against it or (in case she tried and failed) at least steered clear of playing this up on her own social media. Then she tries to get her name mentioned alongside Mariah, to the point of successfully getting Mariah to give a statement out that "Stella is the greatest and I am much more financially stronger after Stella came on board". I might be paraphrasing her haha but you know which article I am talking about. Then having everyone of her previous team fired, which isn't a bad thing, in fact it was good, had she not decided to surround her with people solely from her own camp. Then the fact remains, Stella is after all from the reality show business and not the music industry. Which shows up now in Mariah's behavior with all the supposed staged TMZ photos and TMZ videos and all the nip slips. Again, let me be clear, I don't and won't exempt Mariah from blame. But company influences you and music seems to be the last thing on Mariah's mind. As for Stella's resignation if Mariah's World, I wouldn't count on it. Once you get used to the lifestyle, vacations, private jets, parties of a superstar and not just taking your own family but the friends of her kids along for the ride (and she has gotten super used to it judging by all her instagram posts), it would take more than a failure to get her to resign. As for MW, I'll definitely watch it all, and I hope it'll be based around Mariah and her music and shows. That's all I want. No staged drama.

Brilliant strategy on JLo's part. She knows how to handle the press well. And about the "forgetful" comment, I couldn't hold it against her either because there's only so many times she can be asked "why is your existence denied by Mariah" and keep it calm. She is after all a very well known person around the world. I am tired of the shade throwing. Just give a straight answer and stop with the hair flip and eye rolls. She could have ended it on Cohen if she just said "I know who she is, we met in passing but I don't know her on a personal level." Bam. Done. End of 15 years of speculation. Instead she went on saying random things which ultimately got Cohen to ask "So you think JLo is cool?" And then she goes with the *pause* *shade throwing look* "I don't know her."

What did JLo say? That woman may lack musical and artistic talent but boy is she great during interviews and appearances. She just makes herself look so approachable and nice that people think "oh we could have been besties". JLo has the same diva reputation as Mariah but with JLo, she knows how to make herself looks sweet so that people actually question if she really is a diva or those are just rumors. While Mariah has made herself look so untouchable that people are unable to connect. I mean the general public, not the hard core lambs.

Re: Stella's resignation (62,887) (62,899)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

I am aware that my reply will probably me met with a "you are a psycho post", but I still have to write this. You seem to be working under the assumption that Stella actually cares. This is her biggest meal ticket. She has worked on reality shows with TI and Tiny, Nicki and Paris but none let her latch on to them like she did with Mariah by taking her on as a full time manager. Through Mariah Stella has gotten not only her name but also her daughters in news outlets and TMZ. She tried to star in a reality show on her own, but failed so she's now trying to get her name out there through Mariah. Now I understand that, why wouldn't she want to take advantage if Mariah allows her to? She'd be a fool not to. Of course she encourages Mariah to do silly things that are likely to get her bad press. She'll post and re-post and re-post some more the shades Mariah allows Mishka to post on her instagram, instead of steering away from it or distancing herself from it instead of engaging in it. This can go 2 ways. Either she saves Mariah and takes full credit for it and also get herself a launching pad for her own fame. Or she fails with Mariah but manages to get her own launching pad and then imply that "Mariah doesn't listen to anyone" so she really couldn't do much. But if you think she will leave Mariah due to strong morals, you are wrong buddy. But yes, I can't fully blame Stella for Mariah's downfall. Mariah isn't a kid and she is responsible for her own image.

Aww thank you so much Antonio. I am glad you enjoy my posts and your posts are equally respectful and you express your views really well. About being able to express oneself on this board, I agree with you too. Different people have different views. If we don't agree it is best to either just state our own opinion in response (but respectfully) or to just completely scroll away. There is no need for name calling. Arguments will happen on this board but no need to use abusive language. I see a lot of people are usually scared to say anything because of the backlash from other lambs. That isn't really fair. Let everyone have their opinions and either counter them by giving your opinion nicely or just ignore them. We all come here for our love for Mariah, stop with the name calling. And no, this isn't directed at a single person, I am talking about members in general including myself.

Here is the full episode. I think Mariah looked absolutely gorgeous. I enjoyed the show, and didn't cringe at all haha. She was fun and left the uber diva attitude out this time. This is much better than most of her recent interviews. Looking forward to the Kimmel appearance.

Shezz, that's really very sweet and kind of you. Thank you very much. I love Mariah but I always try to tell it like it is. There are many things she does that I don't agree with but there are many more that I love. So it's really a pleasure to be able to come here and discuss with you all, and read different views, since people around me are not hardcore lambs. As for Stella, dahlin' I can't even know what to say haha. But once again, thank you very much for your post, I really appreciate it and it made me very happy. I read your posts too and the feeling is mutual, I too enjoy your posts and respect your views. Hope you have a good day.

And what be petty like her? That's the image you want for Mariah? Wendy says crap about a lot of celebs and they are above her so they don't even think it's necessary to respond to her. How many times have she talked crap about JLo? Or Angelina Jolie? She does it all the time. If Mariah starts stooping to Wendy's level what will be the difference between the two? If Mariah keeps responding to things like these, Wendy will have a ball and say that these are true so it is getting to Mariah. I will never understand why the "true lambs" always want Mariah to get down and dirty and be shady/petty. This isn't high school.

I agree, the video was pretty sloppy and looked like an amateur job. I didn't like any part of it and using clips from "Honey" was unnecessary since it had no relation to the song. I remember at that time there was this rumor that she is doing a video that involves action and helicopters so I thought maybe they are doing an Agent M 2.0 so that would explain the old clips, but that turned out to be false. Why Mariah thought it was good enough to put out is beyond me. That's my views though, I would like to hear B's view. Why did you think it was brilliant? I want to know because I might have missed something and I sometimes have a change of heart when I hear another person's perspective different from mine.

Isn't "Eye of Horus" and the pentagram the symbols of the Illuminati? Or has the Illuminati and Scientology merged now? I don't think Stella is involved with these though, she is just a wanna be Kardashian who is trying to get some fame at Mariah's expense. Expense includes monetary situation too. That and a bad influence for Mariah and her kids. Plus isn't Nick deeply religious? How can he be involved with Scientology?
