I'm pretty sure she was making James Packer wait until they got married so that eliminates him. Was it confirmed that she was with Damizza? If you take away those 2 it would be 5. I believe her.

The lady who read that quote is clearly an idiot because Mariah was obviously joking. How could anyone take something like that seriously? People like her are just looking for a reason to not like Mariah. You can't please everyone.

I would die if this were true. My two favorites together on one track. Maybe the lambily and the hive joining forces could bring these two back to number 1.

Not to sound negative, but I hope that Mariah and her team have enough sense to know that the surprise album thing isn't going to work for Mariah. There's not exactly a lot of people sitting around waiting for a Mariah album to drop, and if she does a surprise release she will no doubt be compared to Bey. Hopefully, she'll find another creative way to release her new album. Just my 2 cents.

Enwar, you're not the only one. Personally, I don't really care about Mariah's personal life. I just want her to be happy and to continue to make good music. If Mariah likes it, then I like it.

I totally agree with you. I actually like Mariah's voice better now compared to when she was younger. I know a lot of people will say that her live vocals are less consistent than before, but I actually think she sounds better in the studio than in the past.

No breaks please (54,543)
by Xavier Peoples from United States
| |
|
|
I agree with everyone who says that Mariah shouldn't take any breaks. People's attention spans are getting worse and worse and if one stays out of the limelight for too long they will be forgotten about. I know some of you think that it was good for Janet to take all those years off because her fans are now looking forwarding to new music from her, but I don't think this will help Janet's new album do any better than her last few albums. A lot of younger people probably don't even know who Janet is. The older Mariah gets the more she will experience ageism so I think she needs to work as much as she can now (unless she has something better to do of course).

Mariah's musical direction (54,542)
by Xavier Peoples from United States
| |
|
|
Am I the only one who thought that MIAM was maybe a little too mature sounding? I feel like every song on there with maybe the exception of YM(E) has an old school feel to it. Even "Thirsty", which tries to be contemporary, sounds very dated. I know people think some of her songs like Infinity might be too immature for her, but I think I might disagree. Just because MC is getting up there in age doesn't mean she has to start doing a bunch of old school music. After all, Mariah started out from the 90's. Not the 60's and 70's. As much as I love songs like #Beautiful, I really wish she would release some bangers. I was telling my sister that I wish Mariah would have harder more innovative beats on her next album. I think most of the beats on MIAM are kinda weak. Like, Dedicated is by far my fav song from that album but I feel like the beat of that song is so weak. I actually really like Infinity, and I hope that that song is an indicator of the direction that her new music will go in.

Je ne comprends pas (54,265)

I don't understand how so many "lambs" are so quick to believe Morgan. He sold a story to The National Enquirer. Since when is The National Enquirer a credible source? And if he really cared about Mariah's well being would he have sold her out like this? If this is true, how is Mariah's face being plastered on the cover of a sleazy tabloid going to help the situation? Is she going to say, "Gee, my brother just sold a story about me to a tabloid telling all of my business so now I should go get help?" Be serious. And if Mariah has been in a bad state since 2001 shouldn't we have seen it in her public behavior by now? She was on American Idol every week in 2013. She released one of the most critically acclaimed albums of her career in 2014. And in 2015 she is the #1 female live act according to Billboard. Some of you all sound real slow. I'm beginning to wonder if some people on this board are even real fans or if they are simply lacking brain cells.

Re: B LA (53,520)

B, I totally agree with you. LA sounded so negative in that interview. I would be so disappointed if Mariah did a duets or covers album. That would be so lame. She needs to wait until she's like 60 to do some mess like that.

I love "Infinity", but I see where you are coming from. There is a lot of diversity in Mariah's music and also in her fan base. There is no way that she can always please everyone. There are those who want another "Hero" and then there are those like me who wish every song sounded like "Obsessed" and "Touch My Body". I think we just have to accept the fact that Mariah is never going to be able to please all of her fans with a single song. We should all look forward to her next album because there will surely be something there for everyone.

I totally agree with everything that you said. I personally feel Mariah fans should always be supportive of Mariah. I don't just love Mariah the singer, I love Mariah the human being. I feel like when you really love someone you just want them to succeed and be happy. So what if you don't like this one song. If you truly care about MC, you should still want her to be successful. I guess people have different opinions on what constitutes a real fan. I suppose some of you can only be supportive of Mariah if she does everything your way. To each his own.

Nice post. It was cool to see all of those lyrics together. I have a book where I keep all of my favorite Mariah "hood" lyrics and a lot of those are missing, thanks. It's nice to see people posting positive things on this board. I think that the positive lambs need to be more vocal on this board and maybe that will drive away all of the haters.

Negative "lambs" (52,695)
by Xavier Peoples from United States

It sucks coming on here and having to see all of the negativity. It's also very annoying how some of you seem to think that "Infinity" is just the worst song ever and that anyone who likes it just must like anything and everything that Mariah puts out. Even if this is true, what is wrong with liking everything that your favorite artist puts out? If it's OK for some of you to come on here bashing every little thing that Mariah does that you don't like, then it should also be OK for people like me who love anything and everything that Mariah does. I feel like the people who come on here constantly complaining about Mariah need to go find whatever artist they think is better at the moment and go to their board and praise them. I don't think most people come to a Mariah Carey messageboard to read negative comments about Mariah Carey. Many of the comments made by "lambs" on this board are worse than the comments made by the general public on other sites. I think a lot of people on here need to get a life and find something better to do than constantly criticize Mariah. Mariah is already the #1 selling female artist of all time, and I doubt she needs the input of any of you.

Perfection (52,338)
by Xavier Peoples from United States

This song is amazing. It's so classic Mariah but still 2015. Some of you guys on here sound so old acting like she needs to do like Mark Ronson and Adele and do some throw back music. This is 2015 and some of us want to hear music that reflects that. I think this song is perfect. It's something that people young and old can relate to. The beat to this song is ridiculous, and I really can't wait to hear the remix.

Mariah has performed the song twice that I know of. Once on the Jimmy Fallon show and again on a New Years Eve special. I think when she sung it on Fallon that she only sang bits and pieces of it. And I read in an interview that her favorite song off of MIAM is "Cry". She said that she knows it isn't a hit and proceeded to give whatever reason why it's her favorite. I don't remember the reasons she gave.

Leave Mariah alone (45,502)
by Xavier Peoples from United States

It's very annoying coming on here everyday and seeing all the so called "fans" talking crap about Mariah all the time. No one is forcing you to listen to her. If you don't like the direction that she is going in, then there are plenty other artist for you to listen to. I think the reason why so many of you are always complaining about Mariah is because you know there isn't another singer out who even comes close. It's not like you can stop being a fan of Mariah and start listening to Ariana Grande or something. I don't know who you guys are comparing Mariah to. She is still the best in the business. With the exception of Beyonce, I don't know what other female singer that you could even compare her to. She is still the best. No one comes close. I think a lot of you are being too critical. Mariah isn't perfect. Everyone makes mistakes and all artists have highs and lows in their careers. I just wish people would stop being so critical and just be grateful that she is still releasing music.
