In hindsight, 'tis somewhat ironic that Mariah was "interviewed" by the Duchess of Sussex: both are completely incapable of maintaining a good relationship with their families and unable to keep real friends. I hope Mariah has a decent, chart-worthy album ready to drop, with a polished roll-out and videos with significant dollar spent on them. If the label won't cough up the money, she would be wise to consider spending her own money on them. She needs a decent director to make classic videos like Honey, Always Be My Baby, It's Like That, Touch My Body or Obsessed. I say she get in touch with Brett Ratner again whose brief should be "Get Mariah to do more than try to be sexy every second". Her content was cheap, and she had dragged Mariah's image down. You can't expect someone like Stella to land Mariah on covers of elite magazine or get elite brand deals. If the Kardashians were still considered trashy how are they on the A list to everything? How many other reality show stars get that level of fame? And maintain relevance close to almost two decades. Other than Mariah what is Stella's claim to fame? It's about the "money", it's about the connections/ power and what they do with it. Kim's everywhere, she's getting invited on freaking American Horror Story which has some of the best cast, same for SNL. Dolce and Gabbana created a whole line with Kim, something they have never done before. As hard as it to accept Kim K has left her C list image and climbed all the way up. She isn't on the Jersey Shore or Love Island type of reality star list. Stella is a C list reality star manager at best and that's what she'll always be. Staccato, crisp and intentional phrasing while singing with effort is what makes professional singing, not this karaoke slurred mess she always seems to conjure up. Anyone who would not relish in this kind of success in 2024 is either not a fan or telling lies. The problem with the album is that it contains too much filler (much the same as the problem with The Emancipation of MiMi), ie., Last Kiss, Love Story, Thanks for Nothing, For The Record. This woeful R&B dreariness doesn't stand the test of time and Mariah keeps recycling it. This year's album should have no more than 11 tracks and be upbeat with hot material that is unique and accessible to all. And if "Songs in the Key of MC" isn't to be, then I must agree with Mimi L that the title should be concise - either one or two words - and not self-referential. What next? MC wanted a Beyonce type of digital release while IDJ wanted a traditional release with pre-orders. IDJ executives were unhappy with the performance of Memoirs and MC's delayed completion of MIAM. They were just ready to be done with MC knowing that MIAM would fulfill her contractual obligations to the label. The executives now are probably concerned that MC30 doesn't have fan interest for any IDJ MC30 releases. I am surprised that It's A Wrap got a vinyl release last year. MC probably financed the release herself. She only had one hit album during her time with IDJ. Charmbraclet, E=MC2, and MIAM were all commercial disappointments. RCA will probably not allow Yours ft. Justin Timberlake to be released. Angels Advocate and Jumpsmokers Remix albums have been leaked online. MIAM leftover tracks are probably nonexistent.
