Seriously? (107,735)

The key word/phrase is "majority of her success". So not all of her success is contained in the 90s. The list isn't for "who peaked in the 21st century". Mariah wasn't irrelevant in the 21st century. She had a second song of the decade, she had multiple #1s, she broke multiple records including becoming the the artist with the most #1's, she is probably the only artist who ended and started multiple years at the #1 position, 7 top 5 albums , 11 top 20 singles, multiple accolades and other stuff I can remember at this point of time. Also AIW single handedly is responsible for how now more and more artists make Christmas albums early on into their careers. And what do you mean she's not a pop star? Of course she is. Pop isn't only bubblegum pop, it's any artist/music that has been popular at a certain point of time, Billboard named her the greatest popstar of 1991. Anyways all of this to say I'm not saying she should top the list, could have been one of the honourable mentions.

Are lambs really upset or surprised that Mariah didn't make the Billboard 21st century pop stars list? She isn't a pop star and the majority of her success was in the 20th century.

Yeah I caught that part. Mariah basically recorded that Emancipation album all year through 2004, there are so many song titles from then that did not make the final cut. They could see the light of day next year for it's 20th anniversary. (Where did time go? I just bought this album. ) Lol.

She never [had] a first name only album like the other girls. That would be interesting. I've always like saying "M.Carey" and it looks good - that's how it used to be in her writing credits.

It could simply be called MC. We knew her first as Mariah Carey, then Mimi, and has always been respectfully called by Jermaine Dupri MC. Her emancipation would be complete with her next album called MC.

No to Chris Brown for me. Also rumor has it Mariah refused to sit with him at an event after he assaulted Rihanna. We don't need her associating with another known abuser. If Mariah really wants to go out of her comfort zone I would love to see a duet with Post Malone or Zayn or Harry Styles. Hell why not a sexy song with Sabrina Carpenter. Nonsense is a very Ariana-Mariah type song. Mariah, Ariana and Sabrina on a song would be lethal.

Personally, no. Sonically, eh. Chart-wise it would get her airplay. I think even more than a quick #1, she needs a solid "radio" hit that has staying power even if it doesn't hit #1.

A Breezy duet for Valentine's day would set the internet on fire. Their voices would sound so good together on a hot passionate R&B love song. Their duet would be looked at as being creative and stepping out of their comfort zone. I just feel it would be a number #1 song on multiple charts. Who wouldn't love a Breezy and Mimi duet? Mimi needs a song to get the public's attention in 2025. Babyface, Daryl Simmons, Antonio Dixon, Muni Long, and Tank should co-write the song with Breezy and Mimi.

In order to keep the momentum going every year for AIWFCIY, MC and her team will need to start thinking outside the box year after year. They need to employ new ways of marketing instead of MC just doing a string of shows each year (and MC recycling the same show every year, let's keep it real people). Everyone is jumping on the Christmas bandwagon right now and it won't be long before another Christmas song gains steam and AIWFCIY loses steam. Obviously no one stays on top forever, but I would like to see MC's team get creative.
On another note, I wonder how MC and Celine would sound on a Christmas song together? Thoughts?

Those 2 obsessed fans aren't obsessed with the song. I posit that they are obsessed with the para-social "power" it brings. It allows those lambs a few weeks of ???? on the competition using chart data ("sleigh queen", "your fav could never", "queen of charts", etc.). Then they are spend the rest of the year saying charts don't matter and Mariah has nothing left to prove.

This song is a perennial hit. It will always come back every year and it will probably always reach the number 1 spot at some point or another. I don't blame MC for promoting her Christmas music every year being that it's a cash cow. For every person tired of AIWFCIY there's at least two new obsessed fans. I wouldn't ever worry about this classic.

MC looks gorgeous. She sounds good even though it's obvious it is a backing track on some songs. I believe she is saving her voice for when she gets back into the studio in early 2025. I just want Bizness Boi, H.E.R., and Nova Wav collaborations. Mary J. Blige got to them first for her new album.

Mariah is listening because apparently she's doing a Netflix Christmas special. This is great because Netflix gets more views than whatever streaming she used before (I think she was doing Apple?) and it's also good because Spotify always sabotages her because she's been giving exclusives to the competitors so Netflix is a good place to be.

Rare debut tri-fold (107,547)
by Robert-Anthony from United States

I was out shopping this weekend and found a rare debut tri-fold cd. Inside the cardboard tri-fold cd case are pictures, the tracklisting, and a two-fold picture of MC holding the microphone. Does anyone else have this rare CD? Also, this rare CD made me immediately think about Bill. MC's debut album is his favorite MC album. I purchased a Wal-Mart exclusive vinyl and shipped it to him. Bill was really serious about his disappointment with MC's lip syncing during her performances. He hasn't posted in nine months or more. Hopefully, he still reads posts on the board. We miss you, Blll.

I will speak for myself - I am quite because people with your writing style reject me from even putting an effort to write anything.
I'm tired of constantly reviving old conspiracies about choosing her singles or old songs and dissecting how would they sound in a different arrangement and would could be and so on and so on and so on. It is tiring to me and because of that I just don't engage. I am only interest in the present. How to help to see her on the top again and not live on old fame.
