Article: Mariah Carey sends sweet video message to DWTS contestants (114,658)

I watched the performances on YouTube but they were not the original versions sung by Mariah. Were they her versions on the real show when it aired?

Somebody's Ugly Daughter (114,657)

I have an active imagination. I was thinking in the show (Elle) Liz could sing it in her voice like it's her song but then one day she gets sick so Elle has to take over and sing it one time in Mariah's original recording voice. One or two songs. So they can get heard without stealing Liz's thunder. We all know Elle eventually becomes a lawyer not a singer.
I like the Robyn Sparkles storyline in How I Met Your Mother because it's unexpected. Robyn can sing?

I watched the series Elle on Prime video. It's Elle from Legally Blonde when she's in high school in 1995. I thought it was so cute. They have this part where they have little indie concerts at a carpet store. They could have one of the bands perform a couple of the songs. It would be Mariah's voice from the recording back then, but lip-sung. One of the main characters is a singer, but I don't know if she would want lip-sing. It would need to be an actress who can't sing and wouldn't mind miming the Mariah track. Some reviews I read said they didn't like the show but I really liked it. I'm not sure if they're having another chapter but if they did this would be a fun way to showcase the songs.

I have been thinking all day about how MC can release Somebody's Ugly Daughter and it have the biggest impact like an unreleased David Bowie or Fleetwood Mac project. So here is my list.
1. Record Store Day 2027 2. Partner with Target and Wal-Mart for exclusive CD and vinyl summer 2027 release 3. 2027 boxset with 180g vinyl with two 7 inch records of Love Is A Scam and Demented and commentary by Jimmy Fallon and Questlove 4. 2027 exclusive double CD sold only on MC's website with 5 extended versions remixed by Mick Jones (Foreigner) and Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) 5. 2027 Black Friday exclusive boxset, double CD with rough writing session demos, acappellas, and two 7 inch records 6. Follow the same physical preorder and streaming rollout like Glitter, but use only one physical preorder partner

I've really connected to Here For It All again recently. I've just been through a really difficult time with depression and anxiety, the worst I've had since it started 30 years ago. Listening to the lyrics in this track have resonated with me on another level and given me hope. I'm now back home after living with my mum for a month and getting back on track. I'm hoping to return to work soon as been off since June. Mariah's music always brings me joy and I've been listening to her a lot recently. After surviving a gruesome fall I feel the clouds are now lifting. I'm looking forward to the Glitter release although she needs to hurry up as I'm getting impatient. Whilst I have contributed as much on here this year I still love to come on daily and read people's posts, it's great to have this sense of community around the person we all love

Fantasy track list (114,610)

I know inspiration doesn't always flow all the time for artists but I would be happy with an album of covers. A concept album of really good songs from the past that fit her current voice. She always makes the songs she covers her own and puts so much emotion into them. I'd like to hear more in her lower range too.
For this, I wouldn't even want huge publicity around it. It could be an album (or albums) she releases quietly. I know I'm greedy in regards of Mariah but I can't help it. She's already given us so much, but I want more. I really liked My Prayer and think she could travel down that vein more.
My track list: Unforgettable - Nat King Cole It's Magic - Dinah Washington Stardust - Nat King Cole I Only Have Eyes for You - The Flamingos Just My Imagination - The Temptations Summertime - Ella Fitzgerald Life Is but a Dream - Dion Since I Don't Have You - The Skyliners Smoke Gets in Your Eyes - The Platters Unchained Melody - The Righteous Brothers The Impossible Dream - Roberta Flack
Bonus: not like the others, but I love them: The Sound of Silence - Simon & Garfunkel Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve Lover, You Should've Come Over - Jeff Buckley

I’ve never even heard "Old Town Road" or "Choosin' Texas". Not even once. Who is buying these records?

Remember when debuting at #1 on the Hot 100 actually felt like a huge accomplishment? Now Ariana has done it eight times. "One Sweet Day" held the record for 23 years, 4 months and 13 days. It took Mariah 6 years and 5 months to reclaim it, and now, just 8 months and 19 days later, it's broken again. I don't know if you see the trend here. I wouldn't have minded if "Despacito", a worldwide phenomenon, or "A Bar Song (Tipsy)", which was absolutely everywhere in the US, had taken the record. But "Old Town Road" and "Choosin' Texas"? Nah. Sorry. I've always followed the charts, but this is getting so frustrating that I'm probably going to stop paying so much attention. At this point, some of it just doesn't make sense to me anymore.

I was hoping for a theater re-release and to be able to buy it on digital again. But with publicity around it.
