About Lara from Middle East:
I discovered Mariah with "always be my baby"...Got hooked by "my all"..didnt know it was the same artist back then..I couldn't (yet) understand what she was singing! Since then, I've been a big fan and rediscovered her catalogue and appreciate her even more...Searching for her lyrics was my way to learn english :)

I really don't care if it's lip synched. She had to record these recently to make it so already she made an effort. My issue is she only focuses on her ensembles and forgets everything else. The ensemble isn't enough to distract people from how you're performing Mariah. Keep calm and let go on stage darling.

MusiCare tribute (113,125)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
I loved Kesha's performance, she managed to perform the song without trashing it and yet not copying MC. Charlie Puth is next , I just wish he used an original song of hers. John Legend's rendition of [Hero] was ok. Laufey was ok, that twist on the song is interesting but doesn't fit the kid of the song and also her voice was barely audible. Now that guy who sang ABMB should be banned from singing. Even bad karaoke singers could've done a better job. He sounded like a low imitation Prince and Jennifer Hudson, she came prepared even learning how to whistle with her lips, but girl you should've learned by now that less is more. No need for that much power on [My all]. Anyway I'm glad MC got a tribute but those performances could've been picked up better. Also I don't know but it seems they included her grunge music to test waters.

I thought every artist did a spectactular rendition of MC's songs. The only rendition that I did not particularly like was Maggie Rogers' soulful version of Honey. She made Honey too soulful for me. She stripped the melody down way too much that I could not understand what she saying. I give her performance a 4 out of 10.

I loved it. It was focused, she wasn't rambling and going in a tangent. She looked fabulous. The only weird thing is she was reading from a paper instead of having a teleprompter.

By the way things are going, in summer it will be renamed Trumpland. Interesting fact: Did you the US Virgin Islands were Danish and sold to the US, and later on, one of them was bought by no one else but Epstein.

Timing is everything (113,006)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
HIFA has so much potential but I think its timing was off and kinda rushed. I guess they wanted it out before TS takes over. Type Dangerous video seems rushed out, remember it was delayed because of editing? Sugar Sweet video never saw the light. Knowing that if she sang it with Kehlani alone it might've had more chance to get it done (easier to get together 2 people than 3), and she could've benefited from Kehlani recent success from her Folded single. If she had released it a bit before Christmas, get those 2 singles ready by release, and released Play This Song like last week just before Bruno Mars released his music, she also would've also benefited from the extra exposure Anderson .Paak got. I definitely feel she was rushed to it. Look at Bruno Mars, he posted one day before his album announcement and the day after released the single with the video ready. I'm no expert but I don't think that video costed more than TD, but it looks way more polished and constructed. He waited 10 years to release but released in control. It doesn't look like that for Mariah anymore sadly, maybe her condition doesn't allow it to control like she wants to.

IYF vs NII (112,754)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
Although [in your feelings] might be more mainstream, I think NII would be cheaper to have as video other than glamour shots. She can use backstage moments of her triumphant video shoot fall or the NYE fiasco followed by her netter performances. She can use stories from the Olympians overcoming adversity since she's performing for the winter Olympics.

IYF vs NII (112,749)
by T from USA
| |
|

Which one would everyone like to see properly promoted, performance, music video? If there is only budget for one? By the way, there was never a Bruno Mars duet in the works and definitely not now that her and Anderson are not together. And with the prospect of NII being promoted next, there may not be any more plans for IYF.

Jingle bells rock (112,736)

I wonder how it never occurred to Mariah Carey to recreate this scene from her favorite movie Mean gGrls like Delta just did here. It would've been nice of her specially she's not into choreography and that scene needed a clumsy dancer, and the outfit is kinda similar to her super festive AIWFC version, but at least here more appropriate?

HFIA planning 2026 (112,715)
by Lara from Middle East

Nothing is Impossible could benefit of a video from her fiasco performance under Stella's management (forgot the year) and how she made it up the year after. That's a random thought I had about her upcoming performance for NYE.

HFIA planning 2026 (112,713)
by T from USA
| |
|

If her team were to capitalize on all this good news and help promote her new studio album now is the time. I would've had a video for In Your Feelings ready to drop on December 26th (the day after Christmas where she's totally everywhere), a cool looking video that is so attention grabbing people have no choice but to talk about it. Then a few days later she features the live performance on New Years Eve. Let IYF do it's thing all of January and then during the opening of the Olympics on February 5th she could do a live performance of Nothing Is Impossible, with a video ready to drop the next day on Friday February 6th. That way the year starts with the two big songs on HFIA. I know it would mean a little bit of work and money (film two videos) but if that doesn't spark life into the album then nothing would.

Don't take it political (112,277)
by Lara from Middle East

It's not a trend, it's not someone dictating which flag to display on social media. Geronimo makes lot of correct points and I agree with a lot of them, specially coming from the region that is directly hurt from this genocidal entity. But also no need to take it that deep. Enjoy the music and pray for an awakening. Meanwhile I'll enjoy the drone over my head.

Mariah Carey - socially tone deaf? Nothing new (112,255)

Mariah Carey - socially tone deaf? Nothing new (112,242)
by Geronimo from USA
| |
|
|
Mariah Carey has always been socially tone deaf and her Sephora ad shows that age has probably given her an excuse to stop trying to hide it.
She's in New York glam girl and in the Israeli apartheid age, has seriously dated a Zionist with connections to one of the most vile human rights violators of the current era.
I know she sees herself as part of how people escape the "bleak" reality around them. She is also part of the problem as no one has the moral right to escape and encourage others to do so when the very act of always escaping is at least 75% of we (U.S. Americans) got here.

I love this video. What a nice way to reintroduce her videos to the younger generation. Did you noticed all the videos mentioned are before Obsessed? Remember we mentioned before her last decent video was Obsessed? This definitely echoes it. Also I love how they got Mariah to the video and show that despite they were if ignorant about her she showed up and acknowledged them and not playing the petty person as media always paint her.

Honey (112,098)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
I've just watched the Honey video and wanted to say I miss that Mariah. I mean I know people change. She was sexy without overdoing it , the way she runs on the sand at then end effortlessly and carefree. You can see she was less self conscious. Her recent videos are just too calculated and missing that vibe. I wish her team would help her get over they personal hurt that makes her want to hide behind that image and let her sweetness shines through.

2025 (111,861)
by Lara from Middle East

I really want a good video from Mariah with a nice story line. As someone else mentioned her last decent one was Obsessed. All the rest were like glamour shots. And NII might be the most appropriate for a story. Her line "closing my eyes was so unpleasant" seems to écho "close my eyes". She can't start the video with "young Mariah" and snippet of "close my eyes" and show some of the adversity she went through and keep going until recently from literally the "gruesome fall" in 2013, the NYC fiasco and Stella, the medical challenges whether from her bipolar, shoulder, voice, whatever she's going through to show how despite all she's still here. I'm sure she has tons of behind the scenes footage to use. And please no gowns and diamonds. We need Mariah to be relatable. Part of the comeback in 2005 was because her image post 2003 showed some humility.

I think the album will jump again with Christmas coming up. It would be great if she would release "Nothing Is Impossible" with a great inspiring video with Christmas vibes in it, an actual story line, like in Through The Rain. I think it would do so so well.

Some random idea (111,824)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
Next compilation idea could be The Covers like she did for The Rarities. Mariah has her way with covers disc 1 could be covers of recent popular songs with their author (might be expensive though to get the copyrights?), for example imagine her covering IDGF with Dua Lipa, Versace on the Floor with Bruno Mars, Please Please Please with Sabrina Carpenter etc. and disc 2 will be all the covers she already did. More wild, imagine her doing a duet with JLo, she's singing and JLo dancing. If there's any other single to get from HFIA, I'd like it to be Nothing is Impossible. It's her most relatable song. HFIA is beautiful but feels more personal. An idea for the video clip could be like a mini movie on her medical struggles that could explain why she's so stiff. And how despite it all she's still in the music industry because nothing is impossible.

It's sad (111,823)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
I agree. Mariah did her homework but didn't score. Is there really a conspiracy? Or is it because she's not relatable anymore? We all get she's a diva and she's fully on board with this but that might be the reason people get away. You cannot relate easily to her songs anymore. You cannot relate to her daily attitude. When was the last time you saw her in a lay down ensemble? It;s always gowns, diamonds and heels. And she doesn't move comfortably in them. Males you think why keep doing it? And in one of her recent appearances the host ask her about Crocs, to which she answers "yey" to which I was completely surprised. There was a lot of damage done from Stella's era showing her luxurious lifestyle, I think people cannot connect to her anymore and i.e. to her music.
