Mariah's new boyfriend knows how to make an impression
Hey, what did you do this Friday? Maybe you went to work, ran a few errands on the way home, picked up some take-out for the kids and collapsed on the couch in front of the TV? Well, Mariah Carey spent the day walking around the exquisite Italian island of Capri with her new boyfriend, Australian billionaire James Packer. (This has been another edition of "Mariah Carey's life is better than yours".)
Yup. Apparently 47-year-old Packer, who's the 4th wealthiest man in Australia, has been "aggressively pursuing" Carey for months. No word yet on how he finally her over, but his tactics must have worked - because the media mogul/hotelier/casino owner and the singer are now on an "extended vacation" on his yacht (after Capri, stops include St. Tropez and Cannes). Dang, this guy doesn't mess around!
Well, sure. Sounds like a good time to us! And after splitting from husband Nick Cannon last year, there's no doubt the mom of 3-year-old twins (Moroccan and Monroe) is ready to have a good time. Of course it's too soon to tell if this new relationship is going to stick, or if it's even a "relationship", so to speak. But why shouldn't Carey go ahead and find out if this is something worth pursuing?
This is more or less their first big "date" (at least as far as we know), and it's a yacht trip to Capri, Cannes and St. Tropez!! You go, girl. Not that Carey couldn't fund her own big, fancy boat trip, but it's got to be more fun if the whole thing is part of an elaborate courting gesture.
So, have fun, Mariah Carey. Whether with this new guy or without. Keep on strolling around Capri, holding hands with billionaires. Give the rest of us something to fantasize about while we're stuck in traffic on a Friday afternoon. (The Stir)
